The Last Drop has a great family friendly atmosphere, cheap $ 8 cocktails and from what my partner says, a good beer list. Prices are pretty reasonable. Kind of a weird location on the corner of Hammond Rd and Beeliar Dve. Staff are lovely I’m not going to rave about the food. It was OK. Pub grub. I liked it, but I’m not going to rush to get back there in a hurry. But not saying I would never go again.

Last Drop has a lot going for it that a lot of pubs no longer have. There’s a relaxed atmosphere that’s genuinely family friendly. Every time I’ve come there has been at least one family with several kids about the place either in the restaurant or beer garden. It’s relaxed enough that the kids can walk around the beer garden to look for any local bandicoots that may be wandering through. In the later hours after the kids go home the atmosphere is still all manner of chilled. The food is cooked well and the menu complements the tapped beer. Definitely go for the brewed stuff on tap. After all what’s the point? But if you have that one friend that needs that particular bottled beer, that’s probably in the fridge too. If you’re not after beer the cocktails are tasty. Get one in a teapot and share with a friend. The serving sizes are generous and if ordering pizza, they’re large enough to share in a group so worth ordering a couple of different ones. The burgers are in themselves knock outs and the range would fulfill a food truck menu more than sufficiently. The brisket burger is the stand out. The brisket is full of flavour and moist. The pulled pork burger is the best tasting European inspired pulled pork burger I’ve come across in Perth. Moist meat, a flavour profile that doesn’t rely on salt and a coleslaw that isn’t drowned in mayonnaise. Never had a problem with any of the staff or bouncers. The staff are relaxed and are able to mix it up with the wide variety of customers from families to revellers. I only have ever noticed the bouncers when they close the beer garden. Upon entry they offer a friendly hello as we walk in through the door.

So we thought we would give The Last Drop a try for ourselves. The building is big and the inside is beautifully new. There was a bouncy castle outside for the kiddies too. I tried The Last Drop burger and it was good. It has caramelised onions, a beef pattie, tomatoes and cheese(I had it without the cheese) in a brioche bun. There was also a side of chips. The chips were really crispy and the burger was filling. We also had wings which were not hot at all, in fact they tasted of tomato. They were fine. N tried some beers and enjoyed the couple he tried. They only do Last drop beers. He did make the comment that the way they had described the beer was a big ambiguous. I still prefer The Quarie but it was good to give it a try.

I was pretty excited for Last Drop to open up near me as I really enjoyed Last Drop in Canning Vale(although it’s been many years since I’ve been there so I can’t vouch for it now). I’ve been there a few times now and it’s always pretty busy and they generally keep up the pace with table service, but sometimes there’s been a bit of a wait when ordering drinks at the bar. I’ve had a few meals there, and of these: — The ribs were good — just the half rack was filling enough for me — Buffalo wings were tasty — Thai salad was yummy! I’ll probably order that again — Mac and cheese was rather bland and plain unfortunately. Definitely needed more salt, tastier cheese and a better texture — The kids serve of fish and chips was a disappointment — I couldn’t even get mad with my little nephew when he only wanted to eat his chips, as the fish was incredibly bland. I like that there are couches if you want to just stay for a drink, and the outdoor area is large and suitable for functions. All in all I did hope we’d finally have a local bar/pub I could rate five stars but it falls a little short.

Thought we would check the new local pub out last Friday. Staff were very friendly and helpful but we ordered our meal at 7.40pm and it still hadn’t arrived by 8.30pm. We asked for the manager who said that they were busy and apologised for the wait. We gave some feedback which he appreciated. The meals however did not come out together with my wife nearly finishing hers before the last one arrived. I ordered the rib eye on the bone which was $ 40 with peppered sauce and onion rings on the side(extra) and was disappointed. For $ 40 I would expect a big thick cut of steak but it was thin and the sauce tasted like a gravox mix with a couple of pepper corns thrown in, very underwhelming. I am glad I didn’t go for the additional prawns(extra $ 6). The others in our party had similar experiences with the burger the pick of the bunch. For the price you pay, the quality was not to the standard you would expect, café nocello’s is a better option and for the pub scene The Gate and The Qarrie are the go.

I have never visited any of the Last Drop Pubs here in Perth. A mate who lives in the Cockburn area suggested we make this our meeting point for lunch. They have just recently opened in a new building. Lots of friendly staff on hand and keeping occupied. Busy at lunch time but still vacant tables available, good mix of patrons and plenty of tradies sipping there many brews available on tap, doesn’t appear to be a dress code ? I ordered the Chicken burger @16 and my mate one of the many Pizza’s @20 on the comprehensive menu. Both came out together with a short wait and looked like they came off a mass production food chain. Macca’s looking chicken burger and small fries They have got to improve to get me back again, Gate or Quarrie are better by far in my opinion in the area. Getting in and out of the car park may be a task in peek hour traffic
