Just a review for the coffee. Cappuccino, double shot is what I had. The coffee wasn’t bitter and it had a good after taste. The taste of coffee is a product of using a good machine and a coffee Brewster who knows how to use their tools of the trade.

Yep, OK so I was drawn to this place purely because of it’s name. I’ll admit to that. I’ll almost admit to the fact that this place is pretty darn cool. Set at the top of Racecourse Road(as in opposite the entrance to Eagle Farm Racecourse), this tiny café serves up some pretty sweet(in the literal sense) meals. Firstly, it has an all day breakfast menu. And a big one at that. Secondly, they make everything fresh. As in they make their own crumpets. How many places actually do that? Thirdly, it has a fantastic vibe, very chilled, the staff are super friendly and relaxed and the music pumps out Triple J. Perfect for a young-ish crowd. Or young at heart. In dire need of a sugar fix, we ordered a chocolate and beetroot brownie(the beetroot makes it moist and adds a whole new dimension of flavour), cheesecake with homemade lemon curd(perfectly tart) and a French toast muffin(similar to a cinnamon muffin base, but with a super crunchy, sweet French toast top). All absolutely devine and definitely took care of the sugar cravings. It has free WiFi too — just ask for the password from one of the waitstaff.

Walking along Racecourse Rd, I spotted a rather awesome looking graffiti style sign for a Café called Lick My Spoon. Having not heard of it before, I decided to go in. After all, it does have an awesome name, awesome sign, it has got to have awesome food to match right? Lick My Spoon has a pretty creative menu, while not cheap the food is fresh and healthy(if you are not indulging in the pancakes). It is a great spot for breakfast and brunch with a lot of choice and some great fresh juices on the menu as well. The coffee was nice and smooth and the staff friendly and efficient. It has a fairly relaxed and casual atmosphere with plenty of seating. I was there on a not so busy weekday but imagine that this place would be buzzing on the weekend.
