We have had takeaway a few times and dined in once at Furlong; the dining room is casual and typical of a suburban chinese restaurant and although not always packed, it never seems to be empty. On the occasion we dined in they were busy and service was friendly and efficient. Living(very) local, we find ourselves there for takeaway; and they seem to do a roaring takeaway trade… The ginger beef and steamed rice is our favourite; really fresh veges and tender, tasty beef… I’m making myself hungry thinking about it… hahahaha… The food is simply fabulous, we haven’t had one dish not meet expectations. Furlong is definitely a cut above the average but so too are the prices(you are in Ascot afterall.) Definitely recommended.

So there I was, craving Chinese food, when I remembered that this place opened up not too long ago. I wandered inside, and it’s quite small. There’s a few tables, and you could probably eat there with a decent sized group despite the intimate setting. The gent at the counter was sitting on his laptop, but heck, why not. It’s late on Wednesday night, it’s not busy. I ordered my takeaway, and it was ready in less than ten minutes, which was great. I did balk a little at the price. The fried rice was quite expensive compared to others I’ve had, but when you have cravings… I did get worried when my food was handed to me, what he said it was was not what I ordered. But that’s okay, it was actually the right food. And… gosh. It’s pretty damn good! I am a honey chicken guy, and it’s quite good. Not too battery, tender, and well, just about perfect. The fried rice is pretty darn nice too. I think next time I have a craving, I’m heading back to Furlong Dining.
