This seems to be quite new simply because it wasn’t registering on the internet when I was trying to search for it(turns out that the name has recently changed). However I must say that it wasn’t a bad little coffee shop. I was pretty lucky because I managed to get in just before he closed so I managed to get myself a cup of tea, though it had to be take away. It is one of those small, trendy places with some really cool artwork on the walls, and some really comfortable seats. The owner is a pretty cool bloke and really friendly. He is also very flexible in how makes his tea or coffee, understanding that everybody has differing tastes. However the thing that I liked the most about this place was the really cool artwork on the wall — it was really impressive and if I could have stayed here with my cup of tea and relaxed, I would have.

Sweet Delicious Espresso is a lovely little café. The service is great and and store décor is most welcoming. I very much enjoy the coffee and breakfast rolls. The only downside however is the lack of parking. It’s difficult to find a place to stop and often I haven’t been able to go in for that reason alone.

It’s places like Sweet Delicious Espresso that are making Albion one of Brisbane’s new, funky hot spots(I read in the Courier Mail that Albion was number one on the emerging cool suburbs list so it must be true, right? Hardhitting journalism, right there). And Sweet Delicious Espresso is really cool. And it’s not even cool in that intimidating, hipster way. It’s just fun, colourful, friendly and a little bit rough-around-the-edges cool. In a way I hope that Albion doesn’t become the new place to be in Brisbane, because in the past that’s always tended to ruin a place and the little holes in the walls they hold. Still, I have been enjoying Sweet Delicious Espresso whenever I pass by. Gotta make the most of it before all the cool kids find out, innit. Sweet Delicious Espresso serves sweet, delicious espresso(who knew!) and a very laid-back atmos. It reminds me a little bit of Qwerk in Windsor. I’m loving all the quirky little local coffee shops opening in the inner-suburbs of late(Sweet Delicious, Qwerk, Willow and Spoon etc). Little places like this really add a bit of a village feel to the inner-suburbs, and being able to get a good coffee within a short radius of your place of residence is rather uplifting.

It was the sign that got me in the door the first time I went here. «Sweet Delicious Espresso… and really bad jokes» obviously hand painted in white and pink on a black board. I’m a dork and a DIY fiend, and I thought when I saw this sign«I’ve found my people«. I was rehearsing my bad joke list as I went in. This place is your average hole in the wall kind of café, with it’s outstanding feature being the comical artwork on the walls. The portrait of Optimus Prime with the comment«Ask what Optimus Prime would do because Jesus can’t turn into a truck» got a chuckle out of me. Again, this is because I’m a nerd. There’s no false advertising here. They do serve delicious espresso, and if you press them, the staff will tell you a bad taste joke. «Do your worst» I said to them, and oh my, did they deliver. Several times. This is exactly the kind of café I want to see more of. It’s down to earth, a bit grungy, it promotes DIY culture, and you won’t find a shred of pretentiousness about it. I can’t wait for the next time I’m in Albion. I’ll be sure to pop in again– for the coffee and the laughs.

Sweet Delicious Espresso lives up to its own stores description. Located on the ever-busy Sandgate Road, this café is a nice break from the hectic atmosphere of the street. The owners have definitely carved themselves out a personal escape with unique personality helped by local artists works on the walls. The staff, especially Kaz are a great bunch of people, always cheerful and happy to serve. It’s almost like their loving life in this joint. The coffee they make in there is a fine drop, also their own little creations like the snickers and mars bar coffees go down a treat. There’s a range of tasty sandwiches, pies and deserts to mung into, just make sure you get in there early because it goes fast because the public know its all good. Seating wise it a bit skint, but if you can get a seat you’ll enjoy immersing yourself while you sit, chat and sip in the relaxed and quirky atmosphere.
