Good coffee BUT the prices for the food are RIDICULOUS! The plain croissants are $ 8.00…um way more expensive than even in Paris! We’ve tried other food from their kitchen but ended up with under cooked eggs and had to send back. Other tables sent food back also. Saw plates of food left behind… not a good sign!

Great location, coffee was pretty good. I had the croque Monsieur and wasn’t impressed at all. I tried my friends food, was pretty average.

Popped in for a spot of brunch on a chilly but sunny Saturday morning. Wow. The food is amazing! Wife had the sautéed mushrooms with truffled potato gems whilst I had the house made black pudding on a sourdough waffle. Both dishes were amazing! Thoroughly recommend.

Ooh la la, the perfect combination of french chic and european style arrives and immediately assumes the position of the most popular venue for breakfast, brunch and lunch in the Albert Park village. Be prepared to wait for a seat albeit whilst enjoying a coffee or perhaps a fresh cold pressed juice. Kale is in ‘da house. This former toy shop has been transformed into a provincial café that transports you back in time to that wonderful trip you took to Europe. The menu provides combinations that are a cut above the average with the produce and presentation even surpassing the dish descriptions. A few items are noted as either egg free, nut free or gluten free. I mean, I wanted to lick my plate after I finished my sublime smoked trout with perfectly golden baked polenta, sautéed zucchini and whipped avo. But being the classy lady that I am, I refrained from such uncivilised behaviour. It is a very gentile, well groomed crowd here and that sort of carry on would simply not do. Not so refined was my date, on both occasions getting so carried away that he had pork juices running down his chin. Declarations of «that was possibly the best pork belly I’ve had» and«this is my new favourite place» abounded. All of a week old, the venue has most things under control. Some of the wait staff have their virtual L plates on but are always aiming to please, the chefs do well to meet the demand given the small size of the kitchen. There is limited window seating inside where you can be tantalised with a number of french pastries, cakes and of course croissants. These goodies are all made off site to the recipes of the resident pastry chef. There were even some tempting breakfast brioche mini burgers on display. Outdoor seating has table service and is well protected from Melbourne’s weather with large, quality umbrellas. Pay the bill at the counter when you are ready, pleasingly paywave is available. Mon Amour will open the upstairs function space once the liquor licence is approved. I expect it will be in large demand once that comes through. Ti amo, Mon Amour. xo
