Was introduced to here via a friend and it’s fantastic! Great atmosphere, unbelievable food, can recommend the Phở!

This place rocks. I’m a big fan of their vermicelli salads and soups because they are so fresh and great value for money. It’s in a convenient location in Field St and staff are accommodating hence why I’m here getting takeaway lunches a few times a week! It has a great atmosphere if you prefer to eat in but it doesn’t have many tables downstairs or outside to support the lunch time rush. If you can’t get a table downstairs I wouldn’t bother going upstairs as its dark and only a small space that can get crowded.

Weekday evening. The phở here is really delicious, everything tasted fresh. Love the interior design too. Dinner partner had the cripsy chicken rice which had really good fried chicken in a sizeable portion. Good service I forsee more frequent visits. :)

So, I really love Bahn Mi. I love to find new destinations to get my fix. I do endeavour to find a Bahn Mi source where ever I go. So if you are in a particular suburb, I want to be able to say, «go here for Bahn Mi». The only thing is that some restaurants or cafes have different grades of Bahn mi. Some of them don’t have fresh bread and they are sparing on the vegetables and meat. But that is not the case for Yen Linh. Yen Linh does an impressive Roast Pork Bahn Mi. The pork belly is seasoned well with that lovely salty five spice and star anise flavour. It is also cooked enough to refine the fat, so it is not too heavy. They have perfected the salty and crispy crackling. Yum, I could totally eat a plate of crackling! The carrot, cucumber, onion, chilli and corriander are plentiful. The roll is really fresh and was crunchy. It was a total bargain at $ 5.50. Bahn mi is the only item I have tried from the menu, but I will endeavour to try more. Everything is very well priced and the meals at surrounding customers looked really enticing. Another thing to mention about this small restaurant is that one of a relatively new lot on Field Street across. Being new they have really taken advantage of designing the décor modern and attractive. It is a hip and funky looking Vietnamese restaurant standing out from it’s neighbour Thanh-Thanh. Because of this, it is obviously attracting a good business crowd for lunch. I will continue to update my review as I really want to try more.

Yen Linh knows food! Everything that is placed on the table has been carefully thought out and well priced served with amazing staff! This is a hot pick for the central market area and will not disappoint! I recommend everything they have to offer especially the Rare Beef Phở. Not to mention the Mango beer and delish drinks selection!

Some of the dishes are truly delicious on this menu — like the phở, shared tofu plate and the combination rice. You can swap meat with tofu which is handy, though they’re using beef stock. The tofu phở is almost addictive, as I keep coming back for more. The staff is lovely and the service is quick, which is helpful when I need a weekly fix of good tofu phở. On the other hand, the cold rolls and spring rolls are very mediocre. So don’t bother, go for the phở!

Been having noodles at Yen Linh in Croydon Park for years and am so glad they have finally has their city branch not far from Chinatown. The café situated in the new row of shops in Field street, off Gouger street is going to give a few other Vietnamese cafés a competition. The café has a sleek look with bright and clean lines downstairs n a tad too dark for my liking on the mezzanine floor. It has a dumb waiter installed but somehow the uniformed waitresses still carried the hot bowls of soup up the stairs. There’s a bench for solo diners facing the open kitchen, the place soon filled up for this Saturday lunch time and it is a city sleeker compared to the original Croydon Park café. The sauce bottles are brought to the table and so are the cutlery on a little serving tray, nice touch! Interesting to note that they have used milk crates as deco and a couple of huge blown up pictures as wall paper. As expected, dishes are charged at city price, but it saves me travelling out to Croydon Park for my Vietnamese noddles fix.
