As a Viet born and raised in vietnam, this place has the best bánh mì in town. The taste is closest to what actual bánh mì tastes like. The veggies come with the bánh mì tastes fresh and crunchy. If you ever have a bánh mì that comes with lettuce and whatever they normally put in a Subway bread they I sadly inform you that it’s not authentic at all. Their ice coffee aka cà phê sa á is yummm. You just can’t go wrong with this place. The reasons that I gave it 4 stars are that it’s wayyyy tooo farrr from uni and they close on weekend =((

Sure, some of the best and most authentic banh mi(and vietnamese food for that matter) can be found in the Western Suburbs, but this is so far my favourite CBD joint. The buns are great, the meat is great, and they don’t stinge on things like coriander. Seriously, coriander, how good is that shiz? They might be a bit more expensive than some other viet roll shops, but I find that you’re also paying for service. The place is clean, and it’s a lot less daunting for viet roll newbies. If you’ve never had one before pop in here and ask what they’re all about. You’ll leave with a better understanding than you would if you popped into the tiny Western Suburbs store that makes amazing rolls but isn’t always up on the small talk. Yes Vietnamese food is always better in the West, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy good stuff in the CBD.

Hell yeah Bánh Mì! I have professed my undying adoration of all things Bánh Mì related before — and much to my delight I recently discovered that YES, there *is* a place to nab these super tasty Vietnamese/French sandwiches in the Central Markets. Now I can officially set up camp there. The reason I hadn’t discovered the(relatively new) stall is that I rarely make it past the Market Plaza food courts: all that phở and yum cha and crêpe action sucks me right in. Banh Mi is located just a hop over the Moonta St lane, right near the entrance to the International Food Court. It was relatively late when I went there the other day — about 2:30pm — and they had almost run out of buns for my friend and I, but just managed to rustle up a white bread bun for me and a wholemeal from my BFF(nice that they have bread options). I ordered a combo roll(roast pork, chicken and cold meat) with fresh chilli and coriander, and my bud had the same only minus chilli. Both of us were pretty happy with the results. Fresh and tasty, they weren’t the absolute best I’ve ever had but definitely a good solid option, and thankfully just the right amount of fresh chilli. The only thing I will say is that they are on the pricier side of the equation. $ 7.90 for a combo roll is a little steep in my books, especially for the food courts. The staff were super friendly and service was quick as a flash. I also noticed they cater too — hmmm, I expect my next party will be 174% yummier.
