Tucked away in a little corner of Grenfell St and Gawler Place this tiny Japanese sushi bar with wooden slat walls, wooden benches and full of Japanese paper lanterns and kites is a delightful little escape from the hustle and bustle outside. I have done many an «I’m not so sure,» walk by of this place as it is normally fairly quiet. I now realise that is because it is too tiny to have massive crowds sit inside and most people get take away instead. Only doing sushi rolls and a couple of pre-packed cold rolls and sushi packs you wouldn’t think this place was anything different. So what makes this place a little more extraordinary than your standard sushi bar? — The sushi is so fresh it is made in front of you behind the counter — They put lettuce in the sushi to give it a wonderful crunch and crispness — They barely speak a word of English — They cut the sushi rolls up for you if you ask — The fish is fresh and wonderfully tasty And my favourite? If you order in they will serve the sushi rolls to you on little wooden board — bless! Bonus points: The sushi is only $ 2.50 to $ 2.70 for a roll and you can grab as much soy and wasabi as you like for free!
