Caduceus Medical Group

Just saw Dr. Tran for the first time and I am really impressed with how through and knowledgable he is. Helped so much with my current health issues. So glad I have found him. I have been coming to this facility for five or six years now and I find they are always helpful and patient. All the various groups are the same. I would refer anyone.

I used to love this place until they changed it I can never get anyone on the phone anymore. I’ve tried for the past week. Dr.‘s I want to see they are always booked.

My son was seen in Urgent Care for treatment of his asthma. The girl at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. It was our first time here, but the registration process went very fast! Love the phreesia pad, so much easier than filling out a ton of papers. We only waited in the waiting room for about 5 minutes and were taken into a room where we were greeted by Melissa. She was very friendly. Right after she left the room, Dr. Goodale came in. He was very nice and took great care of my son. Overall, awesome experience!

this medical group is horrible! I’m done and will never go back. it doesnt matter if the waiting room is empty i still have to wait for over an hour. i called twice and couldnt get through, i left 2 messages and its been 48 hours and still no returned call. they use to be a very good office but about 5 yrs ago someone else took over and has gone way down hill.
I’D STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE!!!

Every visit I have had at Caduceus is nothing short of wonderful. Granted, nothing is too thrilling about heading into a doctor’s office but the staff at Caduceus goes above and beyond to ensure each patients comfort. I went in today to see an allergist and was warmly welcomed by the girls at the front desk, Morgan and Chelena. The allergist PA, Karen I believe her name was, was very knowledgable and personable. I was also assisted by a gal named Becca who kindly walked me all the way from the examination room to the front door on my way out! In the past I have been seen by Dr. DeNicola and Dr. Goodall who are not only incredibly intellectual doctors but are also genuinely kind people. I have also previously been assisted by another gal at the front desk named Lucy who has always been kind and helpful. I can’t fathom how anyone could be less than satisfied by this doctors office. I would highly recommend Caduceus to anyone and everyone.

This office is terrible to get through to. Speaking to a human is impossible! Even when I have complained and had the patient liaison calls me back, the info she promised to email me was never sent. And the DR that i signed up for thru my insurance is booked out to June/​July 2016. Its FEB!!! but I can see a PA or NP. No, I want to see an MD.
Meanwhile. I am waiting on them to hopefully process a referral for authorization for a important procedure. Seems like they need more staff and people dedicated to phones. There is nothing that is more of a turn off that constantly getting VM when calling a DR office.

I go here because that’s what my insurance approved (assuming the cheapest), otherwise I wouldn’t. (1) Making an appointment is very difficult. (2) Getting a hold of someone to make an appointment is difficult. (3) When they call you they usually leave a message istead of waiting for you to pick up, which resolves nothing. (4) the service providers only work there once or maybe half a day a week, hence they are booked. So if you have an emergency, you’re going to wait awhile. However, once you manage to get in, they do take good care of you.

Honestly sad to post this. They have been my family’s primary for almost 4 years. When Rochelle was at the Irvine office it was great. I love all their doctors so much. The problem is getting someone to pick up the phone or get a call back. Going in day 4 of trying to get in for prenatal care. Seriously 4 days. I have been given the doctors personal cell phones to call. I don’t want to bother them. Not sure if it’s the staff or system but good luck reaching anyone, whether by phone, email or their online site. If we don’t get results soon we will be changing primary care because of the lack of service. 2 to 3 hours in a waiting room and no follow up.

Now for the diametrically opposed report on the very same medical group.
My son was complaining of chest cramps so severe that one of his teachers had to catch him to stop his fall. He went to urgent care at cadeuces 4 kids where he was seen examined and released. A day or two later we get a phone call from the individual who examined my son stating that my son has an extremely rare pulmonary condition. Needless to say our world is turned upside down. Anyone with young children can tell you this is NOT something you want to hear about your child. Now the rush is on to verify this and get him the proper treatment. While speaking to this person, I began asking questions and did a quick internet search. I soon came to discover that the P.A. who examined my son and was now explaining this «condition» to me, was reading from the same Web site I was because I finished his sentence for him and when I asked if he was reading to me, he admitted he was!
Please explain to me how you can call a patient and scare the hell out of them yet not even have all the facts?
Stay with me here because it gets even better: Now I have to seriously question the radiologist (who by the way «IS» a real doctor) for actually examining the x-​ray sent by the Physicians Assistant and in a written report (yes a WRITTEN and SIGNED report) reverses his initial impression of it being «nothing serious» after «consulting» with the P.A. because the P.A. had a different opinion ?.
This is where you might begin to wonder what all that medical schooling was for if all it takes to change your mind is the say so of someone not even remotely qualified to make a call like that! So now comes the calls and the run around from the folks at cadeuces sending him to a cardiologist all the way in Long Beach to have another test.
Guess what, the testing is performed, and once I was able to speak to the doctor he stated that the test he performed isn’t even the test that can verify the condition. Great, another day wasted and not one step closer to an answer.
More calls to cadeuces and now they’re trying to have my son under go another test, except this one has the wonderful side effects of radiation exposure. By now I’m at my wits end and I call a relative who happens to be a physician and discover that the actual test to verify or debunk the diagnosis is a test called a MRA (similar to an MRI but for the heart).
Not to be out done they now are refusing to request the MRA for god knows why other than its not they’re kid and as such don’t care in my opinion.
Finally after I pushed and pushed they finally concede. No thanks to anyone at the cadeuces 4 kids.
But as a final coup de gras they called just before Christmas and kick me and my family out of the medical group. Fine people they are.
Well that’s ok,. I suppose it’s they’re ball and they can play with it any way they choose but I wonder what a malpractice attorney might think about what transpired. Oddly enough though they got rid of that PA according to the doctor who was treating me for a work injury. To quote him directly, «the PA is and was not qualified in the least to make the diagnosis that he made and had a habit of over reaching his boundries».
Hey folks, it’s only slanderous if I can’t prove what I’ve said. I’ve got it in writing! They may be OK for adults but they did me a favor by forcing us out since I couldn’t trust my children to them ever again anyhow. Oh and there is one star because I couldn’t select zero stars.

My wife went here during most of here pregnancy and this place has got to be one of the worst places to have to go if you are going for pregnancy. The office is nice and has a fun environment, but the obgyn’s don’t do their job. Every visit they just checked for the baby’s heart beat and then said everything was great and sent her home. It took her 5 months to even get an ultrasound, and that’s the only one she’s received. They never checked to see if she was swollen or measured her like a normal ob does in the beginning of every visit, when she went to them in pain they never checked anything they just said it was normal.

Amazing experience! After going to multiple different pediatricians in the area I was starting to feel very discouraged that I would never find a great doctor for my child. Then I came across Caduceus. From the start they were amazing. I called for an appointment and they got me in right away. The Life Center is so welcoming, and very nicely decorated for the holiday season. My daughter absolutely loved the indoor play area, its such a great idea when waiting for appointments.
We were called back right away, and the nurse was so friendly and sweet. After the vitals a PA came in. Cyndy Hoffer I believe is her name. She was so attentive and made my 4 year old feel very comfortable, even got a giggle out of her! I explained what we have been dealing with in the last year with her health issues and she addressed everything right away. Even gave me a plan for the future and other appointments. it was so refreshing as a parent to feel like the doctor is listening to your concerns and addressing them right away. Our appointment was at 1PM and we were in and out in under an hour.
The PA also referred me to their «Sammie Store» which has a bunch of really cool items.
Overall it was a great experience, I am so much happier then I have been with her previous doctors!

Please heed this advice, do not go to this medical group. Their website is impressive but their service is nothing short of incompetent malpractice. After patiently giving them over 45 days to offer a resolution and receiving nothing, we will now be reporting them on Unilocal,bbb, and the medical board. That’s how awful our experience was, and from my research this isn’t an isolated occurrence.
We made an apt to see one dr. highly praised on their site, and drove 90 mins to be unpleasantly surprised by another who wasn’t even on their website (they have since added him due to our complaint, but I highly recommend you do not see Dr. Faramarz Shabdiz MD.) Within 2 mins (without even examining my Mom) he refused to do anything other than a CT Scan, x-​Rays, and other unnecessary costly procedures. He then prescribed medication for asthma which doesn’t pertain at all to my Mom’s condition. We never wasted money so fast. They were no help, offered no additional assistance, no second opinion, no offer to see the original dr we came to see, no apology, and no refund. What an organization! …and they dragged it on for over a month and a half with a false expectation of hope.
The bright spot is a woman by the name of Christina who is kind and courteous… and definitely deserves a better company to work for. She listened and tried everything in her ability to achieve a resolution. But instead they make her the messenger without any power, and won’t even speak directly to us. She deserves a raise!
This medical group is a real disappointment and I highly recommend you avoid them all together! When we shared this story with other dr’s, they couldn’t believe how we were treated and why he didn’t pursue some very common sense ideas. We felt he didn’t want to bother with us from the min we stepped into the office because we weren’t there to buy glasses. Save your money, don’t go here!

I’m updating my review because Tina (VP of Patient Relations) and Christina (Patient Management) contacted me right away after seeing my negative Unilocal review. Christina was very friendly and even offered me her personal phone number so that I can contact her right away if I need anything from Caduceus. She found out that the doctor I prefer won’t be in the office the day of my scheduled appointment next week (when the doctor was supposedly in the office), so Christina fixed it for me. I have no idea why I was scheduled that day if the doctor was not going to be there… Probably just another mistake. However, I am still happy and satisfied with the timely manner that Tina got in touch with me and also Christina assuring me that she will be able to help me any time in the future. She even gave me a free 1 hr massage gift certificate. Thank you guys!!!

My kids love this place. They used to hate going to the Dr. Now they fake cough just to go see their favorite Dr, they call her Dr. Grandma :)
The staff is amazing specially Krista and Deanna, they are always accomodating, they know my kids the minute we walk in and we are checked in even before we get to the check in station.
I think the staff deserves stools to sit on, since they are on their feet all day long ;)
I am glad I switched to Caduceus.

If i could give them a negative star I would. Tonight I took my daughter because she injured her toe. We arrived at 6pm we waited in the lobby. The very not happy to be at work nurse comes out and calls a patient who was outside dealing with his crying toddler. I offered to notify him because it was obvious she was not going to put forth the extra effort. He told me he would be right in and I relayed this to the nurse. She blurted out «I’ll just move on to the next patient!» Well then my daughter gets called in she tells us they are busy and our wait time is 1hr to 1.5 hours. She leaves us in the room and never returns. My phone battery dies so I figured I could perhaps borrow a charger since I know they use tablets. Well I see the nurse and she says «well I don’t have one» and walks away. (My phone died because I was waiting for 2.5 hours!!! At approx 8pm my daughter and I open our room door because it is stuffy. I see the NP (Nurse Practitioner, you guessed it no DR or PA available) and inquire how much longer we will be (they close at 8) she replied I’ll be right with you. she comes in 30 min later does not introduce herself and pours peroxide on my daughters toenail ! I inquire about the possibility of it being broken she says well «IF» it is they just splint it with the other toe! Ok so do we X-​ray? Nope no X-​ray guess I should have demanded one (I think most parents would want to know if it’s actually broken) and who are «they» but at this point I was tired, hot, had no cell phone and just wanted to leave! I have a PPO insurance which means I won’t be returning here! I’ve had other bad experiences here but never took the time but this time I HAD TO! I’m sorry but I would have been better off going to the emergency room and just a side note patients don’t want to hear about employees in grown hair problems! So unnecessary and unprofessional !

Lily is by far the best nurse I have ever had in specialty, she is very nice and even answered her phone once on her day off to make sure I got the correct injection dosage. Tanya over in the general office is also very nice and helpful and gives painless injections. ;) That in my book is awesome. Lucy and Rebecca in the front of the office are also very friendly and easy to talk to. Lucy is very informative and was able to help me with insurance questions.

My decision to give 5stars is soley based upon the doctor nothing else. I’ve been going to the YL office for years and finally found a doctor I love Dr.Fraser. He has incredible bedside manner, a low tone of voice, very patient, always listens to what you have to say completely. He won my trust very quickly, he helped me deal with my medical issue with compassion and did what he had to do in a timely manner. I’ve never had a problem with a refill and when a medication needed to be changed he did it right away when the pharmacy called. As a mother of a premature baby and caregiver to my elderly parents I have been through tons of doctors and I’d have to say Dr. Fraser is all around outstanding and thorough. I’ve seen pretty much every doctor at this location none compare.
