My review is based on one tour. Bobak’s Signature Events was our second stop on our wedding reception venue tour. It’s located on a little road behind a shopping plaza that includes a movie theater and a Buffalo Wild Wings. This wasn’t a problem for us, but might be for some people. My fiancé and I were early for our appointment, so we waited in the car for a few minutes. We then noticed that the parking lot was in shambles. Not a good start. It really needed to be repaved. We got sick of waiting and went in for our appointment, still being a few minutes early. I don’t remember there being a sign at the front directing us to the office. We walked in and out of banquet rooms looking for someone. FYI, the office is on the right, down the hall. We knocked and were asked to wait. Mistake #2. I didn’t have a problem with waiting, but my fiancé and I sat down and started noticing this place’s flaws. Lots of chipped paint and carpet stains. Not good. We met with Liz(I think. They have another coordinator named Grace). She was nice enough and showed us pictures of custom wedding options(food, decorations, etc.). I remember feeling a bit rushed for some reason. Anyway, Liz showed us a room for our wedding. The divider was pulled back because they were setting up for an Easter Brunch, therefore, it was hard to grasp the size of the room. She showed us their private terrace. It was probably my favorite thing about Bobak’s, but we’re getting married in the fall of 2013 and I kept thinking, «Well, what happens if it rains and we can’t even use my favorite part?» I had high hopes for this place because I read a lot of positive reviews, but I left feeling incredibly disappointed. We didn’t pick Bobak’s as our venue.

This place has had a number of names(owners?) since it opened, but I think they finally got it right. I have been here for events when they take over the entire facility and then when there are other events going on simultaneously. It is a 35,000 square foot facility with 24 foot high ceilings, with room for everything. There is a huge, free parking lot, but overflow can park on the street, and I have been here when that was necessary. At the south end of the building are the smaller rooms that open to a lovely patio area. The décor is contemporary, the facility is clean and well maintained. Now let’s talk about the food. Usually banquet food is pretty blah. Well, I have to say, I found the food tasty, not overly seasoned, not overcooked, served hot, and good spacing between courses. They were very accommodating even offering a vegetarian or gluten free selection. Temperature control, as with most large facilities, was not consistent ~ too cold for guests, too hot for servers. Ladies, bring a wrap ~ problem solved. Acoustics are very good, no one was getting blasted out of their seat or being caused deafness. All in all a very nice facility to consider for your event needs.
