I happened to be right in the area and decided to pop in(fingers crossed) to see if they had any chocolate frozen yogurt. NOPE! Why? Well, because they are no longer open for business at this location. *This Yogurtree is now CLOSED*

I’ve been to the Yogurtree in Studio City and I love everything about them. So when I found out that there’s another Yogurtree in the Promenade in Woodland Hills, I just had to find it and test it out. The Yogurtree in the Promenade mall is right across from Ruby’s and it’s a little hole in the wall shop. There’s a small counter for the toppings and the yogurt dispensers are not inside the shop because it’s so tiny, but facing the promenade walkway. Although the store is tiny, there were 3 clerks behind the counter. The topping selections are smaller than that in Studio City and the yogurt flavors are limited to 4. The day I went, there were Gourmet, Chocolate(tart), Raspberry, and Blueberry. I wanted to sample the chocolate because it’s tart. Unlike the store in Studio City where you can grab sample cups yourself, the clerk behind the register came around the topping counter and out to dispense me some. What a pain, I thought. The tartness and chocolate just don’t go together, in my opinion. I asked what the Gourmet was and the clerk told me that it’s plain. Hmm, gourmet and plain are never synonymous in my book. But whatever. So I bought a large plain(cough, gourmet) and a large raspberry. Together, they cost $ 14. I asked for lids because I’m buying them for home. Guess what? They didn’t have the correct lid size so I settled for the smaller one. Ok, so the cups aren’t fully sealed, so I asked for a bag. Guess what? They don’t have any. Well, O. K. So I hand carried the cups with the smaller lids in the sun to my hot car. I was so blahed out about my visit that I didn’t even bother to have my frequent buyer card stamped. Let’s just say my experience at the Woodland Hills Yogurtree was less than desirable. After the greatness of the Studio City store, I was wholly disappointed with the one in the Promenade. Smaller selection of toppings and yogurt flavors. No correct lids. No bags. No self-sampling. Oh, and CASHONLY. No yummy honey granola like in the Studio City store(they had generic granola, but I did see the cheesecake). I’d still get some yogurt if I’m at the mall, but if I want some Yogurtree, I’m sticking with the one in Studio City.

Another frozen yogurt review brought to you by Ayelet I. Good lord. Someone get me to a proper restaurant and away from the frozen concoctions. As frozen yogurt places go, this is my new go to. It’s got the traditional«gourmet» flavor-choco or vanilla, «tangy”-the Pinkberry rip, and soy, which is great for all who don’t get to otherwise appreciate the milky sweet goodness which has this summer consumed and taken over my life. Not really, but close enough. They also offer a fairly extensive selection of toppings, down to the boysenberries that I don’t even know when I’ve seen in a market. Plus, there are stamp cards and 10th is a free medium with 3 toppings-no cheapy free small with a side of nothing! Let the yogurt obsession continue. Cold and rained on, I had a dinner of vanilla frozen yogurt. It was good my friends, at least until the hypothermia sets in.
