18|8 positions itself as an upscale men’s haircutter. While I feel like supporting local independents rather than a chain, they do provide a quality customer oriented experience.
I did not write during the last couple of visits, but I wanted to give a shout out to Connie who really spent extraordinary time and care with me.
As far as the salon overall — the extra touches they provide are a quality waiting area, where they serve refreshments including premium beer, a changing area for you to take off your shirt and wear a robe, a neck massage, a hot towel on your face, and more time with consultation and your haircut than you might get at the neighborhood joint.
Connie worked with me carefully to discuss alternative ways I could have my hair cut and styled, offering more noticeably more creativity and care than I’m used to expecting.

Nothing special… they don’t use machines so not close fades. We took our 4 year old for a subtle trim. The lady cut and confirmed the length, but then kept cutting way beyond where I told her and confirmed. I hate it when they do that.

By far one of the best grooming experiences I’ve ever had. The moment I stepped in I was greeted with a smile. They asked if I wanted to have a drink and I joked I wanted a vodka tonic, and they apologized and said they only had beer. What??? Complimentary Stella, are you kidding me? Instead I went for the freshly brewed coffee which they took over to my personal station. There was a dressing room where I took of my shirt and put a cape on. Again, something I’ve never done before.
Neck and back massage was an amazing way to start, Liliana was super professional with top notch skills. Very informative and honest feedback on the best styles that go with my thinning hair. The first shampoo set the tone. The razor work to clean the sides were on point. And then yes, a second shampoo! What??? Two shampoos! Yessss King.
The hot towel treatment was the perfect way to end this amazing experience. Dude, all for less than $ 50. I can’t wait to come back again!
I learned that this also acts like a male salon. So you can get manicures and pedicures and even your eyebrows. Interesting enough everything all goes down in you own semi private area with your own shampoo bowl. I highly recommend this place for anyone who has the budget for it.

This place is fantastic! Everyone was awesome especially Helen! I’m very picky about haircuts and they did wonderful :) I was relaxed the whole time.

Hellen is great! I have zero knowledge of haircuts but she worked her magic and now I hang with the cool crowd everywhere I go. Best hairstylist in the Western Hemisphere!

Getting a haircut can be like going to the dentist sometimes. You can’t just trust anyone with your hair. I used to go to someone for the past 4 years, but recently moved and was looking for the right barber in my area. Out of frustration, I decided to try ¹⁸⁄₈ and I finally found a new place for my hair.
Carlos is excellent and always accommodates me during my appointments. I’m always so busy with work, etc. and sometimes this is the only down time I get to relax while he cuts my hair. He always has great conversation and remembers everything about what we talked about before. He is consistent with my haircut which is the most important and I know I will always leave the salon feeling refreshed and looking my best.
I was recently gifted a membership for my birthday and it was honestly one of the bests gifts I’ve ever received. So excited to get good use out of it and very happy I found this place.

My husband went in for a haircut with Hellen today and he looks so handsome! She was very meticulous with the details and was very attentive to his style. He will definitely be back in a couple of months for his next cut! He also mentioned how great the overall experience was, not just with the haircut, but with the welcoming presence of all the staff, the refreshments, the hot towel, and the mini-​massage. A very reasonably priced cut for what you get. Highly recommended!

This was one of my favorite discoveries around woodland hills since I moved here! They offer a wide variety of services and they are so good! I had Lily as a stylist and I was a fan 15 mins in! She is also a cosmetologist and a barber so I had a complete service, o came out felling refreshed and relaxed after the mini facial and the wonderful massage. I highly recommend and will be returning frequently.

Thanks Nick for everything! I was skeptical coming to this place because it was new to the area and I’ve been going to the same barber for quite some time now. My barber was out of town on vacation so I had to go somewhere and decided to give this place a try.
I am VERY particular with who cuts my hair since I have a small mole in the back of my neck and always afraid to get it cut. I’ve gone to places where they rush so fast to get you in and out, and in the process I’ve gotten my mole cut to the point blood comes out.
Nick has been so great when it comes to cutting my hair, pays attention to how I have it styled when I walk in and very personable. Usually, where I’ve gone, I just sit on the chair get my hair cut and leave but ¹⁸⁄₈ (Nick) make the experience relaxing, there’s no awkward silence.
Service is great the executive haircut is the best, it’s basically a head and shoulder massage, shampoo and a hot towel. The scalp massage just put me in a right state of mind and followed by the amazing haircut which I absolutely loved as Nick took his time with my hair, non-​of this rushing to get me out the door. The hot towel really relaxed me, even though it’s just for a few minute –I just wanted to take a nap.
For the experience and service the price is really worth it. When I leave, I leave with another appointment already made, it’s the amazing hospitality from everyone that makes you want to come back. It’s definitely a salon worth checking out!

Very impressed by my first couple of visits here. It costs more than the run of the mill barber shop, but like anything else you get what you pay for. The staff is very attentive as soon as you walk through the door. They take care of every detail from cold beer to hot stone massage.
Hellen is especially talented. She can be a bit abrasive, but in a good way I suppose. I would recommend her to anyone.

Excellent salon! I can’t recommend them enough, very clean environment, professional staff all around and very high quality cuts and service.
I am a member and get my cuts from Nick who is an excellent stylist as well as conversationalist. You will pay a little bit extra but you also get excellent service, hot towel, clean ups after a cut and you get a neck/​scalp massage.
If you are looking for something special come here!

This was easily one of my worst hair cuts ever. The service was nice but somewhat overkill. Not to mention the price. I went in and was greeted by a lovely young lady, offered a drink. I get seated the «stylist». The guy cutting my hair was polite. I told him what I wanted and he did not deliver. They wouldn’t give me a real shave. He said they didn’t use numbered clippers so he couldn’t give me a 2 on the side. He couldn’t taper the back. He said didn’t want to take much length off of the top even though I asked for it. Really didn’t deliver much of a hair cut. I left with a terrible cow lick. Tipped $ 10 bucks on a $ 50 cut. Total waste of money. I would never go back. If the spent as much time cutting hair as they did trying to pamper you with massages and BS. Definitely wouldn’t go back here ever. Don’t waste your time or money.

This place has got to be the best men’s salon anywhere! From the staff to the environment, everything is awesome. Who doesn’t love a nice cold beer while you get your haircut by the best. Speaking of the haircut, Nick has got to be the best anywhere around. I have had my hair cut by many «higher end» places and I’ll make the drive here just for Nick to cut my hair. He helped recommend products specifically for my hair and showed me how to style it easier. Besides just the amazing haircut he makes the experience even better. I will be coming here for future services for sure.

I didn’t think anything could top my first amazing experience at 18|8 but Hellen really hit it out of the ballpark. Everyone who works there is so nice and treats me with such courtesy. They really do mean it when they say that it is not just a haircut but a grooming experience. Hellen really took her time to understand the hair style I wanted to achieve, and she gave me an incredible cut, styling tips, and overall great service. Thanks guys!

My first experience here was amazing thanks to my stylist, Carlos. He made me feel comfortable and taught me more about my hair.
The entire staff, specifically David at the front gave me excellent customer service.

Took my son Mason for a hair cut. Lily was our stylist who cut and style Mason’s hair. I brought a picture to have Lily the hair stylist look at and do the same style on Mason. Lily was amazing with Mason and gave him exactly the cut we wanted. The salon is super nice. It’s very «VIP» they cater to you the whole time your there. Offer you wine, beer or soda. Mason was giving a massage as well by Lily prior to the hair cut and hot towel after the cut. He was treated like the prince hat he is. He loved it! It was a very fancy and nice first experience for my son. I posted pictures of his new hair cut on the business Unilocal page. He looked amazing! Thank you Lily!

After searching for a place for years, glad I found 18|8. Nick did an awesome job, so I signed up for a package. So glad I did! I love being able to plan a quick clean up or a cut in advance and actually get my desired appointment. The wait area, changing room, and salon are clean and neat. The staff is great!
I would highly recommend this salon for any guy that wants personal attention.

In response to 18 8 comment, I was 100% honest when I wrote my review. I was also very polite when the owner called and offered another haircut even though she blamed me entirely for the situation. Let me just say that I did not seek a refund even though my son’s hair is so crooked and undone. But, what I cannot continue hearing is that I am solely to blame. While my son was upset, instead of the stylist suggesting to cut his hair another day, she began buzzing away at his hair! As for saying that my mom & I wanted to continue, this is simply untrue. Once she started buzzing his hair, I allowed the professional to continue since she already started! Had she told me she couldn’t do it, I would have respectfully left with no problem. So please stop placing the entire blame on me & because you continuously are doing so, I will continue to let all of my friends and family know about the ongoing unfairness.
I am absolutely disappointed and upset after my experience with this salon today. The two stars are for the very nice staff and cleanliness of the place. The employees were very friendly & polite.
I went in today with my mom to get my son’s hair trimmed after I saw their Instagram page with a picture of a kid who had his haircut by Helen. I went in shortly after they opened and a stylist was immediately available. After being led to the chair, the stylist made it known that she wasn’t completely comfortable with cutting children’s hair especially if they were squirmy. She asked if I could come back a bit later so that someone else could do the job. I had no problem with that and I really appreciated & respected her honesty. I left and came back at 11 and was led to the chair again. I will be completely honest when I say my son was not at all happy about getting a haircut and was crying it out. But, I specifically told the stylist that I wanted a TRIM for my son. Midway through, my son was so squirmy that we didn’t know what else to do but stop. His haircut was not done and I was so overwhelmed that I went up to pay as my mom was holding my son. When I calmed a bit, I realized my son’s bangs were COMPLETELY cut off! I was about to burst into tears and the cashier (who was very friendly) could tell I was upset. I paid a total of $ 36 and left. The more and more I looked at his haircut was only making me more upset. I just have to tell myself it’ll grow back and that I would speak up next time. What really makes me mad is that if you are not experienced with cutting kids hair then say something! Don’t take a chance with my kids hair! The stylist was really nice but should have just done what I asked for which was a trim to get the bangs out of his eyes. I was very emotional after leaving. I wish I had waited for Helen since I had seen a couple pictures of her work. But overall, I will not EVER be coming back.
