Starting my review by saying«I was expecting so much more» from this place already sets it up for the 2 star rating. I’d never been here before and I’m always excited when there are new attractions in the Dells to check out. So here I am pumped and ready to go and then the first crappy thing strikes me.(This has no effect on my star rating just something you all should know). The 4D Theater, Ripley’s and Wizard Quest are all owned by the same people. SO If you buy a pass to Wizard Quest AND Ripley’s you will get free tickets to the 4D Theater. This does NOT include when you buy all of your attraction tickets at one of the spots where they sell discounted tickets per the number of supported attractions are sold. So we DID go to both Ripley’s and Wizard Quest but because of the way we bought our tickets, we also had to pay(for a discounted price) the 4D theater tickets. Now back to the review. I wouldn’t go back unless it really shaped up and someone Unilocaled about it. We gave our tickets and followed the line. There was no attendant to tell us what to do so everyone was incredibly confused as to where we go. There were supposed to be 2 sets of shows to choose from, and when we bought the tickets the woman said that it was a 4 movie experience each about 15 minutes a piece so it lasted about an hour. Eventually about five minutes later when an attendant came by to let people in to the single room theater without any explanation we sat in our seats, put on our 3D glasses and waited. Shortly the first movie started up. It’s not as good of 3D quality as they have now at the movie theaters where they’ve shown Coroline, Up, etc. So that was kind of disappointing. All of the films are animated and I can sum up all of the effects you will experience. You will be poked in the back with a stick(it hurts) You will have air blown in your face, and at your ankles You will have water splashed at you(not like a mist, but like a real splash) You will have your seat tremble, but not even as much as you’d like it to considering the movement scale of some of the action scenes. During the log ride it smells like pine. During the box of people ride it smells like soup. I was sitting there really wanting to enjoy it, and trying to prepare myself for the awful poke in the back that would come and wait for the videos to get a bit more interesting. The pirate captain one was the best movie, but the worst experience. When you’re a box of people I thought that was the best experience overall, but the shortest. I can’t see how those movies were more than 10 minutes(or 5 in a couple cases). That brings me to my last point. While the first two movies were shown back to back, there was then an announcement for an exit and we were not the only ones saying, «What the???» Because we paid for 4 movies. So we waited about 10 minutes wondering with everyone else what was going on, and then the second 2 movies came on. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a bit more than 10 minutes. The next two movies were back to back. I thought it was really poorly organized. One of the workers ran in and out without a word to anyone a couple times. I was really dissapointed. If you want to go to a quality 4D theater I recommend Disney World. They have two, one in Epcot I believe and the other in Animal Kingdom.
