Sol Fusion

The company uses other people to be their license holders and utilizes untrained installers to do the work. I was personally taken by this company owner. My roof is destroyed, the system is not working, I have filled with the state license board for a suspension of the contractors license. Now they will close, declare BK and screw everyone on the numerous claims they have. This is a spin off of Solfusion Inc. Solfusion inc is declaring BK and changing the name to Solar Power Professionals. They are not paying anyone and they intend to do it all over again.
be careful, do you do diligence and make the appropriate decision. Since the company is going to be run by the same owner it run the other one to the ground I will be extremely careful about giving any business to the spin off of Solfusion.

I wish I could give less than 1-​star as my experience with SolFusion included horrible customer service and left me feeling that they had no integrity and did not value quality. They claim on their website, «Using state-​of-​the-​art equipment installed with the highest degree of integrity» but in my case they left damaged beams, splintered wood, and damaged interior areas of my house above where my kids play area is. Now when we get rain, the kids get to play with dirty roof water due to the leaks, glad it doesn’t rain much in SoCal. They covered it up as they poured mastic into the holes to fill it up, then painted the area with an off-​white primer thinking I wouldn’t notice. They still won’t to this day accept responsibility for their poor workmanship.
I would think twice about reading the positive testimonies. When I went solar, SolFusion offered me a discount on my system or cash for a «Positive Review». After they messed up my install I asked my sales guy if I should review them and he said «no, that’s ok, my boss only wants positive 5-​star reviews on Unilocal,Angie’s list, Facebook or their website».
I started dealing with this issue back in ’13 when SolFusion installed the system, I noticed it was under producing because when they installed the system they deviated from the approved design plans and placed the panels right next to a big hedge that blocked the sun from the panels for ½ of the day. They of course blamed me for this even though I showed them the original designs and how it was not an issue until they changed the plan. I have dealt with a total of 9 employees since the start of my relationship with SolFusion and only two remain, this tells me a lot about Jay’s integrity and people skills.
Had the opportunity to talk with the owner Jay. He apologized and promised he would fix this, he appeared to be sincere and said he would make it up to me for all the delays getting this unfortunate situation resolved and he promised to be transparent with all interactions going forward and handle this personally as he wanted me to be a happy customer, like a «Raving Fan». Turned out Jay just told me what he thought I needed to hear because none of this happened and now I feel everything he said was a lie. As soon as he left he assigned this to his assistant, who then tried to distract me by starting all over in the process where I had to explain the situation from scratch, she made me wait for her delayed responses and in general made me feel like they were hoping I would go away out of frustration, and it still is not resolved. I started this process in December when I first encountered the leak, and still no resolution. Still haven’t heard from the owner, and I think he hides behind his assistant, Sara. In fact, I was mystified by her incompetence, she couldn’t communicate effectively, was rude on the phone, and failed to follow-​up. In addition, Sara’s job is communicating with LADWP and performing simple solar calculation and she can’t do that either.
I met with the owner on 4÷15÷15 and then sent him an email that night outlining our conversations during which he promised to follow up and get everything resolved quickly. I stated I would like this resolved by end of May as this had been ongoing for many months and he agreed. I didn’t hear back from him until ⁵⁄₉ where he only provided a partial follow-​up. I mentioned to him again that I would take time off on ⁵⁄₂₈ to monitor the install and that this was roughly 2.5 weeks to finalize everything and I asked if he/​Sara could provide me with the proposals they got to repair/​replace the damaged roof the same way as I disclosed my proposals to them (transparency). I didn’t hear back again until ⁵⁄₂₄ when I got responses to a few more items of the outstanding issues. Let’s just say that they didn’t provide anything until 6pm the night before. Unacceptable. Sara doesn’t know the difference between a proposal and an invoice, but instead calls it a «Preliminary Invoice» that breaks down the cost of roof replacement for each of us.
She then got mad at me for rushing the job and cancelling the night before when she had 3-​weeks to schedule this and provide the documents — which she didn’t. I again asked where all the other information she promised to provide was as I wanted to understand what type of roof SolFusion was going to have installed on my home, not just any rinky dink roof they felt like installing. I requested an option of a cool roof at my expense as this was the most convenient time. I asked if they would give me the details prior so I could investigate cool roofs and verify with LADWP as they are very specific with what a cool roof is and what the SRI rating to qualify for rebates, and Sara’s response was — a cool roof is a cool roof and if our roofers say it qualifies then it will.

Biggest scam ever, don’t make the same mistake I did by trusting them. Now I’m stuck with a high electricity bill and the solar panels that are worthless! And We Never Turn The AC on because of this now we’re all stuck in a hot house.

Good workmanship. Still in the process of finalizing everything with the city inspectors, but the work is neatly done and conduits are well placed and painted. We can’t wait for the system to finally go live and start saving some money. Customer service is also good.

Everything stayed on promised schedule. We were having other work done at the same time and SolFusion included those companies, with their permission, in their planning calendar so they didn’t trip over one another up on our roof. That way all three companies could check and add to the schedule at any time. The area manager, Eman, didn’t press us with any hard sell tactics while explaining what SolFusion offers. The account coordinator, Sara, was so responsive that sometimes our phoned request was entered in the online schedule before we finished saying our good-​byes. We have recommended SolFusion to several friends without hesitation.

This is truly a wonderful outfit. From the first call and throughout, Jay, Bryan and Andrew were extremely generous with their time, and transparent about the process, updating me with regular calls and emails. Once the plans were approved, they went right to work and stayed till it was done. I live in Burbank, where they are really sticklers about safety. They required Sol Fusion to build a cement platform to go under the electric panel. This added an extra day and a half to the installation process, and they did it at their own expense. When talking to a couple of the guys about their business, I learned that many of the Sol Fusion crew had worked for other solar companies before, but were not satisfied with the «underhanded» service provided to customers. So they decided to form their own company. I’m so glad they did. I actually had signed up with another company, but got cold feet. They seemed kind of oily and I didn’t trust them. I changed to Sol Fusion just in time to get out of the other contract with a full refund of my deposit. Whew! I never for a moment regretted my decision. And, BTW, they have a crackerjack female electrician. Way to go, Anita!

We had Sol Fusion install solar panels on our home last month. We’ve been wanting to have solar energy, and we just happened to come across this company by pure luck. Everything was excellent from start to finish, and we are now making electricity!
Their standards of customer service definitely exceed the rest of the home improvement industry. We’ve never had a better experience with any home improvement or construction service.
They gave us notifications all along the process. They gave us realistic deadlines which they either met or exceeded. Every single member of the Sol Fusion team that came to our home was polite, respectful, professional, and well dressed.
We are in San Diego and will surely be telling our friends to use Sol Fusion, Inc when installing solar panels on their homes.
I just wish there were more businesses that worked this hard to keep the customer happy.

I am so pleased with my experience with Sol Fusion. My experience was really so wonderful. I loved my salesperson Eric… he was so knowledgeable and fun to work with. My installers were just great as well. My system is the pride of the neighborhood !
