Salone Estetica is a full service Aveda Concept Salon. Our team of Stylists, Estheticians, Nail Techs, and Massage Therapists are all Aveda trained and use these naturally derived products to give you the best in services as well as home care to keep up your beauty régime.

History

Established in 1978.

Salone Estetica opened its doors in December 1978 in the same location. In 1998 the Day Spa was added providing many additional services such as nails, esthetics, and massages. Salone Estetica is now a full service salon with a team of 16 employees to serve our clientele.

Maria T.

Business Owner

Maria followed her dream from Italy to Winchester, Massachusetts. Making women look and feel their very best has been her passion for 34 years as the owner of and Master Artistic Director at Salone Estetica. She began with a small salon and expanded to include a spa offering nails, esthetics, and massage.

Maria knows that when you look better, you feel better and exude more confidence. A strong supporter of many charities, Maria generously donates products and services to fundraisers for Winchester Hospital, as well as other local charities. Each year the team at Salone Estetica does raffles and a cut-​a-​thon to help support the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

Because of Maria’s thirst for knowledge, she along with her staff attend many classes to stay current with styles and trends. Her passion for education for herself and her team has led them to receive many awards including #1 Hair Salon, Regional Best Nail Spa, #1 in esthetics and massage, and Top Ten in Boston.

I have been having my hair cut and colored at Salone Estetica for 5 years. I first started going there because I was looking for cruelty free, natural products (Aveda) as well as it being just a few miles from my home. I’ve stayed for five years because the staff are wonderful and Maria, the owner, is great at what she does. She is patient, listens to all my requests and advises me when I’m not sure what to do, when wanting to make a change. I would recommend this salon to anyone!

Wow Maria replies to my review and starts attacking me and leaves out the part where she said the school was filthy but acknowledges that she called the owner beautiful?! This woman is crazy! I will never be returning to Salone estetica again. I’ve gotten replies to my reviews on Unilocal before but it was always a nice simple apology. Once again Maria has to argue argue argue well my family of 4 has all been to your salon and NONE of us will be returning! My whole family is upset with how you treated me and your reply to my review! If someone doesn’t like the way you treat them or doesn’t like the service you gave you accept it apologize and fix it! Not continue to argue with them!!!
You just lost 4 clients Salone estetica.
Also I am 100% certain that I said thin highlights heavy foiling. The front half of my hair was thin and heavy and looked good. The back was where she rushed and there was hardly any.
I also never at any point told her that I liked it or it looked good. Even if I did as a client you have a right to feel worried about how someone will react to negative feedback especially now that they’re trying to have a Unilocal war with you!

I live in Winchester but have been driving forever to get my hair done for some unknown reason. A friend suggested Salone Estetica and I am so glad! Ask for Kim! She gave me high and lowlights, and a cut and a blow dry in record time. She is a magician with color and I felt like I had been going to her forever. She was honest and gave me helpful suggestions and made me feel comfortable … plus she was fun to talk to! The owner and staff were super friendly and you can tell they enjoy working there. I will definitely be going back on a regular basis. Thank you Kim!

I really love Lindsey! She’s so thorough and nice to chat with. Its been hard to find a stylist that is consistent, and Lindsey’s work is consistent every time. Needless to say, I keep coming back to see her. I really like her and my hair color, cut, and blow drys always look great. I also think their prices for hair are very reasonable for the quality you receive.
I haven’t tried the spa side of the salon but I do like how they offer so many other services and that they use Aveda products.
The salon itself is always busy, but not chaotic. The only downside to this place, is that parking can be kind of tough to find unless its after 6PM.

This was my second time going here. I have to say now, I won’t be back. I went in for some foils. The owner cam over to the chair to speak to me and basically was SUPER aggressive and was arguing with me for no reason. Insisting that what i wanted was NOT going to turn out. I really suggest she find a better way to communicate with clients. It’s inappropriate to make a HUGE deal or nothing. (there’s a way to be professional and precise with taste)
The consult was like 25 minutes and she bristly ends up looking at hairdresser with un pleasant demeanor, saying something like, do what you’re gonna do! She made me feel awful. Also, my partial ended up looking like just a few accents. I was very disappointed. And the color is not all the way to the root.
Long story short, they are not classy, very pushy and make the client feel bad.
A salon experience is suppose to be relaxing, this salon is the last place you get to relax!
I will will never be back. Moving on…

I experienced a great facial treatment provided by Lorena. She’s also a massage therapist so the neck, scalp massages were very relaxing. They use Aveda products, botanical and good quality
The facials included extractions. mine were tough to remove still she ensured it was all removed and clear. Had a full 50mins session. Even the receptionist was pleasant and gave me good warnings and options for Parking, which is on — street and only 1 hour

Maria has been doing my hair for over 20 years. If you’re looking for an honest, talented, and genuinely sincere stylist, she is your girl! Maria knows her products and which ones are best for her clients. If you want a style or color that she believes isn’t going to be flattering she will suggest alternatives but will ultimately do what her clients want. She genuinely wants everyone to feel their best when they leave the salon.
The entire team at Salone Estetica are warm, knowledgeable and just delightful. No matter what service you get, you can’t go wrong. The whole experience is upscale and upbeat. The salon itself is immaculately clean & the décor is stylish yet comfortable.

Hello again. Just a follow up to my last review. Sometimes you go to a new hair salon and you are happy the first time. Then when you go back it doesn’t quite live up to the first time. Well if you are looking for consistency and an amazing experience please go see Lindsey. She listens to you and takes her time. If you aren’t happy she won’t let you leave. She is so sweet and everyone at the salon is so friendly. If you are looking for a new hair salon, facials, mani and pedi please look no further.

I just had an amazing appointment with Lindsey! Right when I saw down Lindsey was a gem! She along with Maria (owner) consulted and discussed and came to the decision low and high lights would be the best option to keep my hair looking blended instead of mono toned as I had it done somewhere else prior. The end result was just amazing! It left me smiling ear to ear and clapping I loved it so much! The haircut she gave me was perfect! Just what I wanted ! :) (And it is no easy task to get side bangs to look good on me, Lindsey did it great) I came home to my husband saying how amazing it looked! Lindsey gave me a tour of the spa side and I can’t wait to try that out as well !! (facials, spray tan, massages, manicures, pedicures, they have it all). I would highly recommend this salon, tons of street parking and parking spaces near the train and such friendly staff from the front desk on :). Love my experiences at Salone Estetica. Maria does an amazing job with helping customers make dramatic changes with color and cut — or simply keeps customers beautiful with what they’ve always done. Maureen is outstanding. The service up front is also excellent and I like the spa. Great fun atmosphere, never disappointed.

I had a very relaxing and effective facial here with Missy. I love the little comforting touches the spa ads, such as the aromatherapy oil, warm towels on your feet (but don’t let them stay on too long or they get cold), hot towels on the neck and face, neck massage, and two different masques. The esthetician also used a jade roller on my face at the end, which I’ve never experienced before. It was cold, but it’s supposed to be healing on the skin. You learn something new everyday! The extractions are always a bit painful, but that’s what I expect since I can’t do them myself at home. I might recommend adding warm booties to the feet after the hot towels cool off and using very soft towels near the end when the skin is extremely sensitive and everything stings. I felt very pampered and would definitely return. The salon is also in the center of the little town, which is very cute.

I’ve always been partial to Aveda salons and when I recently moved to MA I had to find a new one. I found one that was reasonably priced, but kinda far away… they were awful. Then when confronted with my search again I opted to stay local. This one is on the pricer side sometimes, but I guess it’s typical Massachusetts pricing. Anyways, they had Jenny do my color and cut the first time and she did an AMAZING job. It turned out perfect. I’ve only gone back a few times, but I haven’t been here that long. I will definitely continue to be a customer while residing in the area.

Great customer service — from font desk to facials (Melissa) to massage (Lily). I wasnt crazy about the hair cut I got here but all else (spa services, waxing) I love.

Guity Roshon, stylist/​miracle worker, has been cutting my hair for most of the past year and I can’t praise her enough. I get compliments all the time, even as my short cut grows out! Everyone there is pleasant and professional, but also friendly without being overly familiar. LeeAnne is my favorite prep and shampoo-​ist (shampooist?) I love getting the Aveda treatment without the attitude that comes with other Aveda salons. Oh, and the prices are competitive!
If you’re ready for a change, this is the place to go.
And another thing… I notice how the other clients respond (and how the look when they leave) and there are a number of miracle workers there. Whether you’re 12 or 82, you will find the right stylist there. Seriously.

I love this salon! I’m really really gray, so color is a challenge for me, but Maureen is fabulous. My hair looks natural and my cuts are terrific (not an easy job)…I get compliments on my hair all the time.
All the staff seem to be real pros. Agatha gives a beautiful manicure and Missy’s facials have made my skin look great, even through the winter. Just as important to me is that the staff are friendly, helpful and it’s always just a delightful experience.
I can’t recommend them enough!

Wonderful place, I’ve always enjoyed my time here. I’ve had my hair cut by Maria, Cecelia and Jenny — loved all three cuts. It’s not that I’m fickle, I just like to make appointments on shorter notice (I’m not really a «planner»). They’re always able to accommodate me. Jenny was my last cut and she also did highlights. It was my first time having them done, and though they took a long time (apparently highlights do!) they were fabulous.
I also had a mani/​pedi 2 weeks ago that was great. My fingers lasted well over a week, and my toes are still perfect. A little more pricey than I’m used to, but it’s a beautiful salon in a beautiful up scale town. For the setting, it’s appropriate.
They also recently renovated the studio and it looks AMAZING!

Oh, how love Salone Estetica. I love that it’s right next to that coffee shop and I can get an iced coffee to sip on while Colleen (who rocks and I will explain why in a minute) cuts my hair and my color sets. I recently went back to my natural color of blonde; it’s a beautiful thing.
Colleen: if you worked at a salon in Florida or Denver I would get a jetblue credit card and accumulate miles just to go and get my haircut. I am serious: you are that good. no, you are that GREAT.
She does a hell of a job on my color and the cut stays looking good for weeks. I could even skip a haircut and go every 8 — 10 weeks, but I enjoy it there so much it feels good to go more often.
AND…did I mention Colleen is hilarious and has an incredible eye for style and shape. hair shape. «the cut» is her speciality.
Dawn and Melissa are waxing extraordinaires. Ann Marie gives a gorgeous mani /​pedi.
Maria, the owner is an absolute sweetheart. I have known her for years and every time I am in there she asks about my family, it is very nice. She definitely cares about the client experience and wants it to be top-​notch, and it always is.
