After moving to the area, I gave this place a try as it’s much closer than going to Porter Square. The location is great. The place is nice. Marco himself seems fine. However, the haircut itself was horrible and my skin ended up a bit irritated as well. I have been to many barber shops and this is very nearly the worst.

Brought my 6 yo son in this morning. Shop is very nice and Sal did a great job — nice and quick. Very friendly.

I needed a new haircut and I decided to start keeping my hair a bit longer than usual so I needed someone experienced with a scissor rather than the machine. I live in the area and the place had decent reviews so I decided to check it out this fine Saturday. There was a woman and a man working there. So he tells me to sit down and I give him a brief explanation. He starts ramming the comb through my hair and I start to wonder if they cut hair with the combs rather than scissors here, maybe its a European trend. No water was used at all which I thought was odd, im used to getting a bottle of water sprayed at my head and I have to avert my eyes — part of the hair cutting experience which this place foregoes. Anyways, he finally starts using the scissor so I try to start some conversation. He wasn’t having any, which was fine, I don’t need a barber as a friend as long as he cuts my hair adequately. I probably should have got up at this time as he just started randomly cutting hair around my head without any logical pattern or progression but still I gave him the benefit of the doubt, after all I haven’t had a long style haircut in awhile. I think he cut my hair for 4 – 5 minutes then takes out the buzzer and started trimming particular hairs he disliked, again with no organization. He pulls out a blade to clean up the back and I did not see him put in a new one, he assured me he did, god knows. So I pay my money, 18 dollars and I gave 2 dollars tip so 20 total. I waited to go home and shower to see the final judgement. My right sideburn was about 1 cm longer than the left. The left side is a bit longer than the right. Epic fail. So after I finish submitting this I am headed to my usual barber and I guess ill just stick with the short clean hair. My barber at this shop was Sal, guy is awful and probably shoudn’t be working in the hair service industry. I think SuperCuts gives better hairstyles to be honest. UPDATE: So on closer examination I saw that there was more than the sideburns messed up and it would need immediate fixing. I went back to this shop and Sal and the lady were sitting there idle(shocking) and he looked up at me with no surprise and asked what I wanted. I told him he gave me a subpar haircut and I wanted a refund as I need to get it repaired. He said«I don’t give refunds and pointed to his chair.» No way in hell I was sitting down with that guy cutting ever again. I calmly explained I was just very unhappy with how the work was, I explained he didn’t use any water, he spent 4 minutes total, and it was basically a wreck. He slammed his drawer open and gave me my 20 back. While walking out he called me an asshole. I turned around and asked him what the reasoning was for that type of language. He said«If you want that type of a haircut go to a fucking salon.» In my mind im thinking does that kind of a haircut mean even sideburns and proper grading of hair so it doesn’t look like a functioning retard cut my hair? Anyways, I left, and now I am more confident he did not change the blade of the razor. The only explanation I have is this guy is just a racist. I didn’t know Winchester tolerated that kind of trash.

Been coming here for years. Love being able to bike over any time for a quick cut and shave! Marco is the best!

Came into Marco’s as I was in desperate need of a haircut and the normal guy I go too is now a little too far away from my new place and is difficult to schedule appointments with him. Marco was perfect. He gave me a cut that was perfect for $ 18 and had me in and out within 15 minutes. He even uses hot shaving cream to shave the back of your neck. Can’t beat that.

Sal has been cutting my hair now for over 3 years. I bring both my 6 and 8 year old boys to Sal as well. Great cut, no fuss.

Great cut. Friendly people. Clean shop. I’ve been getting my hair cut here for two years. I always like the way my hair looks when I leave Marco’s shop. I don’t let anyone else touch my hair. I highly recommend Marco’s shop.

Two family members went to get the haircuts here. The place itself is nice, neat and clean, good location, waiting time was shourt and the barber was very friendly. But both haircuts were such a poor quality! Shunky, uneven and the overall shape was pretty bad. Short hair in the nape area and long in the back area above the neck is an unexpected shape especially for men. Have definitely seeing better haircuts! The time per person was only about 5 – 7 minutes. I agree that $ 16 generally isn’t too much for a haircut but this particular one hardly should be given even for free. Disappointed.

This is a great place. I had not experienced such a great cut and shave since I lived in Spain. Marco is a class act and just a great person all around. He also is a master at his craft! I will make the drive from Somerville to get what’s left on my head cut from my friend and barber, Marco.

Unbelievable. Great service, friendly, efficient, and conscientious. I have been searching for a reliable barber in Boston for 10 years, and I’ve finally found it. There is nowhere else I go to get my hair cut!

This place is about as good as it gets, if you’re looking for an upscale experience for a decent price. My cut was $ 16, and I get a lot of compliments. Shaved the back of my neck to edge the cut, which was definitely a professional touch I appreciated. You could be looking for a spot that you can walk in for a new experience. That’s how I ended up here, and there’s a very good chance I’ll be back again. Plus the location is really beautiful.

This is a great business. I ‘ve had 2 haircuts here and each cut was great. The owner Marco is friendly and lives in the area, as does the barber, who is also great. They are cash only right now due to costs of running the business, but the service is worth coming here, as is the price. It is centrally located in Winchester Center, on Winchester Terrace, a lovely area next to the Aberjona River. Parking is a bit difficult, but you can park anywhere in Winchester Center and walk less than 3 – 5 minutes to the shop. I’d recommend parking on Mystic Valley Parkway, or McCall Middle School parking lot and walking over. Its a great place for a haircut and I’d highly recommend it.
