Wilton’s Manor Doggie Daycare, Resort & Spa

I’m sorry that you feel that my girlfriend and I were a nuisance to your establishment. We would bring our dogs to you about once a week (hardly dropping off our «problem» children to you)…but unfortunately, anyone who knows the breed of a German Shorthair Pointer knows that they have very high energy and need constant stimulation every day to be happy. Instead of leaving them at home, I chose to put them in daycare to meet those needs, as any good parent would. My male is very, very high energy — that is true. However, both of my dogs have been in day care since 2 months of age and are well behaved — but, very hyper. Your establishment could not handle that energy level — as your employee stated — and that was the problem — not aggression, not humping — as well as the fact that you have a pitbull in your facility that bites. We have found much more space at Pet Lodge where our dogs are actually able to run, with great prices, and employees that are knowledgeable and know how to manage dogs. I would recommend this establishment to everyone. As far as the account issues — I never had a problem with your front desk employees and they never expressed any concern with me. We figured out the confusion regarding the accounts as we had two owners living in the same house with two dogs. As far as the charge on my card — your employee found the charge that was charged in error and refunded me that charge, and I do have the emails to prove that. Good luck to your business, however, I will make sure everyone I know in the area knows of what goes on at your establishment.

After recently moving to Wilton manors I was looking for a doggy daycare to watch over my puppy while at work or out of town. Unfortunately, I put the care of my dog in poor hands. Management resolves problems by placing blame, and putting others down. A prime example of this is the owners response to my girlfriend, Kiersten Crabtree’s, concerns. Prior to this I had a very pleasant experience with Wilton’s manor but with time the true colors of the establishment came out. This appears to be a recurring issue. I made the mistake of not doing my research and found this establishment has quite the reputation. Their staff are uneducated in dog behavior. As I can already imagine the owner responding in a mean and unprofessional comment questioning my knowledge in behavior. I am a board certified behavior analyst. In the field of applied behavior analysis we learn and use methods that are used in training animals. Though the front desk workers try their best. The extent of their knowledge is poor. The facts are facts. I brought my 3 month old puppy. Anyone with animals know puppies are energetic and are learning. Puppies at this establishment are expected to act as well behaved, mild tempered puppies. If this is your puppy at 3 months then you have a tremendous amount of luck and Wilton’s manor may be able to handle this. The first problem I had with this establishment was when my puppy, learning dog language and behavior, jumped on a easily agitated pitbull. The lack of knowledge was seen when staff were unable to recognize antecedent behaviors and put in place preventive measures. Unfortunately, he was bitten and was taken immediately to the vet. Though I appreciate that… No one in Wilton’s manor was aware of whether my dog had an allergy to any medication or whether I had a preference in vets. As I know the owner will make an argument that I, a parent willing to spend $ 50 a night on my dog, would rather not be informed if my dog is injured. This is incorrect and frankly shows the immaturity and lack of professionalism. This is not my place to question the sanity of the owners but I am sure the readers of this can see how preposterous this claim is. I remind the readers I am a parent that called everyday, with the exception of one day, to check on the well being of my dog… But yet I did not want to be informed. Make your own judgments. After this incident I tried to understand as I know he is learning and I assume a risk. Dogs are dogs. This can happen even at dog parks when I am present. I forgave the situation. I did not even make a scene when I arrived. I simply thanked the staff, asked what happened, and went home to rest. Another example of the lack of professionalism is when I was never approached to apologize, explain, or ensure I understood what occurred with the matter. We continued to come and in many ways the staff were helpful. I was working on my dogs pulling on leash behavior. I recognized antecedent behaviors and requested one dog at a time be brought out. I was preventive and the behaviors improved. I hope this is not too much to ask of your staff to give me one of my dogs at a time. As time passed we had another incident with my dog jumping or humping. He was quickly removed and asked to no longer attend. Again, I can foresee the owner accusing me of being a horrible mother and patron. Animal behavior is constantly changing. Newly acquired behaviors will begin and in some cases there are reasons and/​or easy fixes. Another example of the lack of education as their staff are unable to handle or prevent such behaviors. It is when situations become difficult that we realize the true capability and knowledge of staff. This Josh is something I would hope you open your eyes too. I was once ignorant of the options in dog day cares. Your establishment benefited from my ignorance. When I became educated in what is available then I promise all readers I would have never given you a dime of my hard earned money. I don’t believe your establishment is run so poorly to harm others. When one is ignorant or in denial then poor behaviors or decisions are made. Thankfully I found Lauderdale Pet Lodge. Wilton’s manor’s reputation was well known and the apology I longed for was received there. They apologized for the ignorance of Wilton’s manor. The first day I brought my dog I was given the honor to see his behavior. I spent 30 minutes with the owner evaluating and discussing my dogs behavior with others. The knowledge they have is incredible. The space! Is amazing! My dog is a very high energy dog. I was able to see where he struggles in play and was informed to not worry. The staff were capable to handle it. He is currently enjoying Pet lodge. My worries were extinguished. My dog was no longer this «problem child that I drop of yo get rid of» and I was a parent working to maintain her home and the wellbeing of her animals. I was a parent that finally received the best quality care. Thank you.

Both of our dogs, Honey and Lola, loved coming here! Played for a couple of hours then spa time. Always came home groomed and happy. The staff of Wilton’s Manor are always so friendly and accommodating, short notice? No problem, late pick up no problem. They even helped us out with house sitting when we flew out of town for 5 days to our son’s wedding. We moved to Palm Springs California a few months ago and really miss this place.
I highly recommend Wilton’s Manor.

Just returned to the area and immediately went back to Wilton’s Manor Doggie Day Care, after being gone for over 2 years, I wanted to see about bringing my three dachshunds to board and leave them for day care, as I had in the past.
As we pulled up in the parking lot all three of my dogs went crazy… waggin, wiggling and over all, just plain excited to see (and smell) where they were.
I know I had fond memories of the way my dogs had been treated and cared for in our previous experiences, but had no idea they would remember it at all.
The minute we walked in we were greeted as if we had never left… Alan and Josh were so excited to see the pups… and the pups were equally as excited to see Alan and Josh. They remembered their names and actually sat on the floor with the pups and allowed them to jump all over them.
I hadn’t called to make an appointment and knew that a new assessment would most likely be required, as we didn’t arrive first thing in the morning, as is always recommended, prior to the pack already figuring out their pecking order.
The professionalism that was exhibited by their handlers and Josh and Alan was exemplary, they took them each in to the pack one at a time… once one was settled the next and the next… I have never seen such care taken to assure that the pack was the utmost priority as well as the safety of each of my pups.
My dachshunds are not dogs that like to play with dogs their own size, Josh had remembered this, so they were introduced to the ‘big’ dog section… They just walked up to each big dog… gave them a sniff and moved to the next one… no issues whatsoever, no snarling, no growling, no posturing… that is a sign of GREAT handlers knowing the quotient and ratio of dogs to handler as well as personalities that will work together.
I have been to other doggie day care where this care was not taken and heard horror stories of dogs getting into fights and handlers not being able to protect the dogs for fear of being torn up themselves.
I read the previous review about the dog snarling at the handler upon first meeting… this was a educated decision (IMO) by the team at Wilton’s Manor. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist, Victoria Stillwell or Cesar Milan to see that the potential for problems existed. It is their business and they have the right to refuse service to anyone and for this person to continue to denigrate Wilton’s Manor, again in my opinion, is out of line, inaccurate and feels as though someone has an ax to grind.

I usually don’t write reviews but I feel compelled to warn people about this horrible facility. My family boarded our dog Layla for five days and when we picked her up, she was limping and wouldn’t put her front paw down on the ground. When we questioned one of the staff members, he said that our dog had jumped off the groomers table and hurt her leg. They never called us to inform us about the incident while we were away and they never brought her to a vet to be checked. Instead, the business owner called us a week after we picked up Layla and proceeded to blame us for trying to leave our «unruly dog who humps and abuses the other dogs». After reading other reviews, it is apparent that this is his «go to» excuse when he is confronted with a complaint. My dog has been boarded before and lives with other dogs and I have never heard that she has a humping problem. It is a ridiculous accusation. I can honestly say that I have never been spoken to in such an unprofessional, accusatory way. The owners were not only unwilling to hear our concerns, they were rude and condescending… and at one point he screamed at me and then hung up on me! It is obvious that they have significant problems with anger and what is most surprising to me is how they manage to stay in business. I asked a friend of mine who also leaves their dog there occasionally for boarding if she has ever had a problem, and she said her dog came home with a huge gash on his paw that she was never informed about! She said she understood dogs play and can be injured but then when her dog came home with fleas she had had enough. She no longer boards her dog there. Beware of this place! I should have never left my dog in their care.

Today took my Lola for a last minute decision to get a «groom on» and this place was great, with a nice staff and other pooches to entertain mine. Recommend :-p

I love this place. But what’s more important is my dogs love this place. The one and only place they start going crazy happy when I make that turn on Dixie and they know what’s coming next. Love the one stop shop with the grooming and every single person there is just awesome. I feel they love my dogs as much as I do. Well worth it!

I bring my two medium dogs (approx 50 lb) to daycare here about once a week. Staff is always friendly and remembers my kids. They always come home exhausted from playing so much! The big guys play outside in the yard and little babes are inside. I haven’t been coming here long enough to know what they do when it gets very hot but I think they have the yard cooled down with shade and fans. Only docking a star for price (above market here) and general size, they fill up pretty quickly.

Alan and the all the staff at Wilton’s Manor are simply amazing. Our English Bulldog Tank has made Wilton’s Manor his second home. When we first started bringing Tank for doggie daycare we knew he loved it because he would get so excited he would just wiggle and wiggle (he doesn’t have much of a tail to shake). Whether Tank is visiting for a day or an extended stay, we feel comfortable that he is well loved and well taken care of when he is here.

To the owners:
No ‘message’ was left at the veterinarian — complete lie.
Berated? All I said, and I quote was, «hopefully there won’t be another incident» — so in what world is that a berating? You seem to be so hell-​bent on thinking you did NO wrong whatsoever, that me saying, and I quote «hopefully there won’t be another incident», was berating. You raised your voice, stood on your toes and looked down at me and screamed at my face how «dogs will be dogs and we can’t be responsible for every dog that comes in here» — which should be your slogan.
And yes I did mention there was blood in my dog’s mouth — but did you find anything on the other dog? YOU SAID NO. And yet you still have it up in the air as to who started the fight — the one with the bite wound on his neck, or the deaf and blind dog with no injuries whatsoever.
An immediate refund that was denied because you’d rather lose a customer and earn a bad reputation than just say «ok, here’s your refund» instead, you kept my money for days afterwards. If you had just said «OK, here’s your refund» — there wouldn’t be this mess. But when you kept my money — then it stepped into a new territory.
To be so completely inconsiderate and ignorant to what happened really puts a bad shadow on your business and your concern for every other animal there, as well as your character as a human being.
The facts are facts — you waited nearly an hour and during that time you and your groomer decided to play veterinarian with my dog who had just gotten into a fight. You failed to call me directly, instead sending me texts, and even when I didn’t respond, NEVER called me and the only call I received was from the veterinarian. Maybe if you sent 10 texts and didn’t reply, you would have called me?
The owner did nothing wrong, the dog did nothing wrong, the business did everything wrong — dropped the ball and tried to cover it all up. All I can say at this point is I really hope the next dog attack that happens at your daycare, which I’m sure there will be, won’t be assessed by your groomer/​veterinarian and you actually reach out to the owners the second it happens instead of trying to fix something you don’t have the qualifications for.

I’m new to the area and didn’t have a network of friends I felt comfortable asking to watch my girl while I left town; that seems to of changed, thanks to Josh and the friendly staff at Wilton’s Manor! Georgia Peach (my 70lb Lab mix) went in for a behavior assessment and ended up staying the day to romp & get comfortable before an upcoming overnight stay. She came home smiling and exhausted! Love the option to log in and sneak a peak at what she’s up to. Josh recognized me when I came to pick her up, everything was organized and seamless.
We boarded and utilized the grooming services to have Georgia shaved. She didn’t come home with any signs of unhappiness or anxiety after her overnight and first buzz cut. (In fact, I think she’s really loving the lighter coat!!)
The price can add up @ $ 50/​night; but 2 full days of daycare are included — that means an entire weekend for $ 50. Can’t beat that for the convenience & piece of mind!
We plan to regularly utilize the friendly services at Wilton’s Manor — 2 thumbs up!

I’m happy with the grooming service and the facility, however, I’m not happy with the situation that happened to me and my dog today.
Due to the fact that my dog is still «intact» he is not allowed to play with the other dogs. He was banished to a cage in the back of the office. Keep in mind that my dog is a very well adjusted and social dog. He loves everyone, people and other dogs. He’s not aggressive and if he does feel cornered by the «pack animal» test. he’s going to defend himself, but he’s only 15lbs.
Just because my dog is still intact, they felt he would possibly be too aggressive. I’m bothered by the fact that I know of many dogs that are spayed or neutered and are horribly aggressive. Since all of the dogs that were in the play space are spayed or neutered, why did they become aggressive to my dog when he was put in the pack setting?
Frankly, I believe that there are certain people, including this place, that are SO hell bent on making sure that all pets should be spayed or neutered. if you don’t agree with their philosophy, then you and your dog are not welcome in the facility. It is a type of discrimination that is very pathetic.
One final note, as I was leaving the business, I told the girl at the counter that we won’t be back… When I said that, the manager or who ever he was gave a sarcastic a comment as I walked out the door, I don’t think he realized I heard him.

I have been taking my dog here for a number of years now. I previously took him to The Barkers which I very much liked however they got expensive and out of the way (I live in WM).
Since switching, we’ve stayed at Wilton’s Manor for a number of years now and I’m extremely happy taking my pup here and will continue to do so.
Staff: The staff is extremely friendly, I’m always very welcome coming in and they know my dog by name when they see him. The full time staff has personal relationships with him — I watch their interactions, they’re like old pals. I have never experienced the issues the negative reviews express. My dog has always been fixed and at least as far as I’ve seen the staff seems to handle dogs appropriately.
Daycare: I wish I could take my dog everyday. Not only is the socialization great but my little guy is completely beat when we get home and in general much more behaved. Prices are slightly cheaper than the ‘luxury’ places but can still add up — I recommend buying a package to reduce the per day cost.
Boarding: I also travel a lot for work and board him here occasionally if someone else cannot take him. Boarding prices are reasonable and you aren’t charged an additional cost for ‘day care’ during your boarding days.
Grooming: I primarily bath my dog at home so the only service I use is nail clipping — price is reasonable and it’s convenient since he may already be there. My dog hates the dremel and needs clippers however the nerves in his nails are sensitive so he usually bleeds a bit. Net net, make sure to give any specifics up front.

I really wanted to give this daycare a five-​star review. My husband and I planned on using their daycare services at least once a week, as well as their boarding services.
Unfortunately, our one-​year-​old rat terrier didn’t pass their 45-​second (if that) «behavior assessment.» Upon arriving at the facility, a woman greeted us. She was friendly and told us that they had to do a behavior assessment but that she could tell our dog would do just fine. She then took our dog – on her leash – and told us we had to wait on the couch while she took our dog to the outside area for the assessment. I have no idea what the outside area looks like, nor how many or what kinds of dogs were there because the area is fenced off and the sign on the gate says that «parents» are not allowed back there.
She closed the gate behind her, and we immediately heard our dog get bombarded by the other dogs. Less than a minute later, the woman returned with our dog, who was still on her leash. Now that I think about it, I should have asked, but I think she introduced our dog to the others while she was still on her leash, and that is not the best way to introduce dogs to other dogs. The woman said, «no, sorry,» and that our dog «was biting at every single dog.» She then told us we were more than welcome to bring our dog back for their grooming services, though. Um, yeah, right.
My husband and I were shocked when she told us our dog was snapping at the other dogs. Our dog is not aggressive in the least bit and has never once bitten another dog or person. She’s fun-​loving, intelligent, and loves other dogs, big and small. We’ve been taking her to dog parks since she was four months old (after having all her shots), and her breeder emphasized how much they socialize the dogs when they are under their care. When she is at the dog park, our eyes are glued on her, and she’s never once tried to bite another dog or shown any aggression to other dogs.
I think her reaction during the behavior assessment is solely the result of how she was introduced to the outside area and the other dogs. She was taken by someone she didn’t know and was bombarded by the other dogs, possibly while still on her leash. When dogs feel that they are trapped, they get scared and defensive. I also think that maybe if the woman and the other man who was working there had gotten a chance to acquaint themselves with our dog first, then maybe she would have felt more comfortable being introduced.
Upon hearing that our dog wouldn’t be allowed to stay there, I told the woman that I was very surprised to hear our dog acted that way because we take her to the dog park all the time and she never snaps at other dogs. The woman responded with, «Well, this is a different type of playground.» It’s an outdoor area with other dogs. I don’t see how it’s that different, other than it was a new place for my dog and they didn’t make her feel comfortable.
I guess if you are planning to use this daycare service, at least you know that they screen the dogs beforehand, but I question their understanding of dog behavior. I’m sorry that this didn’t work out, but I can’t help but think it is their loss, and I hope they will reconsider how they conduct their behavior assessments. As a good dog owner, I am obviously going to watch for the behavior they mentioned, but really, though, I’m sorry I put my dog through all that.

When Murphy needs to have some play/​socialization time with other doggies, I like to bring him to Wilton’s Manor. He plays under the watchful eye of a caring employee which makes Murphy’s Mom very happy.
I would recommend Wilton’s Manor to anyone who wants to ensure their fur baby has fun, expends some excess energy, and is well cared for. Oh, and the entire staff is very friendly too.

The staff could not be any more friendly and the customer service is excellent. My is always excited to go there and play with the other dogs. I have used them to board her while I went on vacation and didn’t worry for a second.

If you want an extended home for your dog, take them here. They will take care of special needs, make sure everyone plays nice and they know the personality of each dog.
My dog comes running in and she is greeted like Norm from Cheers, with true excitement and enthusiasm. They enjoy their job and care about their clients.

Was not too happy with the grooming

I have had so much trouble with day cares its not even funny! Coming here today finally gave my heart a sigh of relief that my baby Zeke would be in good hands. I dropped him off at 11 and picked him up just before six, he was exhausted! Clean, happy and ready for din din. I think he just might be down for the night. I am so in love with this place. At this point price is not a factor, he was in excellent hands and I’d gladly pay the arm if it means he’s safe. $ 30 for 12hrs is more than worth it! You will be glad you brought your baby here. I am!
