Bodytek is a challenging yet fun workout of its own kind, combining both strength and cardiovascular training in a circuit training style. We use a combination of equipment to help you achieve your goals, including treadmills, water rowers, kettlebells, resistance bands, stability balls, free weights and TRX suspension training™. The class is always different — at Bodytek you will never repeat the same workout and you will never be on a treadmill for 25 minutes.

History

Established in 2010.

Established in 2010 Bodytek started with a man and a dream to share his passion for fitness. Owner Mike quickly built a clientele and a reputation for motivating any and all fitness levels to believe in the power of their drive to succeed. The first studio opened in Davie in 2010; a year later the 2nd location opened in Wilton Manors (Fort Lauderdale). The third location in Midtown Miami opens January 4th, 2014.

Mike has dedicated most of his life to physical fitness and helping others achieve their goals to live a longer, healthier, and happier life by changing their lifestyle. He has been working out for 23 years and began his fitness career working as a personal trainer in 1997 and moving up to General Manager at Gold’s Gym in 1998. He later pursued a career in law enforcement where he was a member of an elite SWAT team, which required him to train in order to maintain a healthy and strong body.

Mike demands proper form over heavier weight in order to prevent injury and obtain the maximum results from an exercise.

I often come to Fort Lauderdale on vacation and this trip I was looking for something more challenging than my individual workouts that I usually do at the gym. I went to 3 different Bodytek classes at the Wilton Manor location in the course of the week and each was incredibly challenging and fun. I had different instructors (Mike, Bryan, and Shaddi) and all of the classes flew by with varied workouts. The music is great and there is great energy and positivity all around. I highly recommend Bodytek and will definitely go again the next time I’m in Florida. Though I’m hoping they open a location in NY soon!

I am in Ft. Lauderdale for three months. I looked for a workout like I have at my home gym, not expecting to find something I like as well. After searching the whole area, I hit the jackpot! BodyTek Fitness Wilton Manors far exceeded my expectations. The sessions are always different and challenging but can be modified to fit each fitness level. The trainers are professional, talented, extremely pleasant and a joy to work with. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who may be bored by the same workout every day and who wants to be challenged in a group setting with fabulous trainers. I will definitely be back next year!

I have been a member of Bodytek past 2 years and have Ben nothing more then satisfied. When I started I was out of shape and had low stamina And had gut and no tone whatsoever. Now I have cuts in parts I did not have in high school. when I go now, I go HAM. It has improve my form and metabolism. The trainers explain in detail what you’re going to do each station. And the class and it’s different every time so it never gets old. I don’t melt or feel I have a workout in unless it’s at Bodytek.

I absolutely adore the Bodytek team! I’ve been working out there since August and I’m so happy with my results. Not only that, I’ve met amazing people and made great friendships. It is truly a family atmosphere where everyone helps you reach your goals. The trainers get to know you and help you every step of the way.

Mike Verdugo is amazing! He has such a great staff at Bodytek, Wilton Manors. Each workout is different from the last one so you are constantly being challenged. I’ve been going for over a year and can’t imagine going to a regular gym at this point. You receive personal attention and the trainers are engaged and want you to succeed. I’ll admit, the workout’s are tough but you have fun and the people that go are in it to win it!
I’d recommend to anyone no matter what your fitness goals or age as there is something for everyone.

Not only do you get an amazing full body workout, the music is great, the energy is great, the trainers are motivating, patient and inspiring. Dean and Mike are awesome, and as others are saying on here, the hour really flys by! I actually look forward to going to my workout here, I leave feeling fierce! Highly recommend for any level.

I was in the Wilton Manors area for the month of July. I had taken the prior month off from working out back home (I was in another part of the country) I wanted to join a «big-​box gym» and also join one similar to my gym at home (that had a «station-​book-​camp style»).
I researched Unilocal before deciding to visit this fitness gym. It was similar in concept to the small gym where I am a member back in Atlanta.
For my time here, my classes were with trainer, Thomas Weddle. (I went during the lunchtime schedule: 12:15−1PM) He was great!!! He was energetic, started the class on time, and helped with the correct form for all participants.
As a man in my 60’s, I couldn’t move as fast as some of the others in some of the stations-​and that was all right! Thomas was helpful in modifying the stations when needed.
If I lived here, this place would be one of my favorite places to stay in shape!!!

I joined BodyTek 8 months ago and I feel like it’s stripped 10 years off my age! It’s amazing how this intense workout actually gives you more energy throughout the day. All of the instructors are exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and engaged the entire workout. I love that each workout is different, each instructor has their own style, and everyone taking the class motivates each other in various ways.
My 50 year old body noticeably changed in appearance, i’m constantly being told from all who know me, but most importantly, it’s what you cannot see that’s dramatically changed… my endurance, breathing, sleeping, and general well being has improved in ways i couldn’t have imagined.
I would never go back to a regular gym again!

Amazing workout always with Mikey especially the 90-​minute tabata on Saturdays. I always look forward to the WOD and energy from the music. You’ll sweat and feel the muscle ouch but Mikey «smiles» you through every minute of the way! Super friendly team that encourages … always killing the workouts — thank you.

I have been going to this «bootcamp» style gym for 9 months now and I am in LOVE!!! They keep things fresh by rotating trainers throughout the week.
I came to this gym intimidated not knowing what to expect. Afraid that I would be looked down upon because I was overweight and awkward. What I got was completely the opposite. The trainers were encouraging and supportive. They took extra time to teach me the exercises and correct my form as needed. My favorite trainer; Dan even takes the extra time to review my diet and exercise habits away from the gym.
The class participants were also very encouraging, soooo not what I expected. When they noticed I was loosing weight they congratulated me on my success and encouraged me to keep going.
So glad I did not let my fear keep me from this great workout

I’ve never sweat so much within an hour. It’s amazing what they do for me.
Every time u come home from bodytek my partner looks at me, smiles, and says yes… You have to keep going.
They improved me, my life, and apparently my love life. Lol. Go figure.
I may not be the best and definitely a novice but my original goal was to make it through a class. That passed and now on to increasing weight each week and just ‘killing it.’
I love the feeling, I love this place, I’m hooked.
The trainers are pretty awesome.
Results are impressive.

The best gym I found in Fort Lauderdale.
Each class is different, and the instructors rotate regularly. There are weekday morning classes at 6:30, 8:30, and 9:30. The later two classes tend to have fewer customers, which I like best. Weekends are usually filled to capacity, but don’t be intimidated. Once I understood the flow of the classes, they made sense. My favorite classes of the week are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 4:15 — the Abs, Core and Cardio. I find them to be less high impact, and I love the core element.
The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, and they pay attention to your form. The smaller classes during the week really put the «personal» in group personal training classes.
The studios are always clean and organized. This is not a gym that has a bunch of machines and you sleep walk through some circuit. When strength training, you’re using free weights or TRX. The sessions are intense, and you get out of it what you put into it. I’m very pleased that I found BodyTek.

I love this place! I am absolutely ADDICTED. The hour workout seems to fly by. The music and energy in the place is invigorating and the instructors are top notch. You are never bored in this class as they are always changing up the workouts. I highly recommend trying it out.

As my workouts became redundant and ineffective, my music play list overplayed and my trips to the gym simply dreaded, I needed that invigorating push to snap me back into fitness. Never imagined that spot would be 5 min away from home! This place is absolutely amazing. The energy, the music, the enthusiasm of the instructors and their professionalism. I actually look forward to every class. After my long hours @ the office I’m so drained but somehow when I end my day with bodytek I get this surge of euphoric energy. You just can’t beat that. I’ve never been able to do pull ups in my life and after 4 weeks I finally succeeded! This place is guaranteed to help you shed those extra inches, tone and strengthen your muscles and boost your confidence all while having a blast! Highly recommend to anyone that wants to actually enjoy working out in a fun yet effective environment.

I went today for the first time so my workout was free. I took Dan’s class. He is an awesome instructor. The hour flew by. The class was about 8 people so you got individualized attention to correct form.
The music they play is motivating. Dan setup stations with a board listing the exercises. The class was very organized and flowed smoothly. You do an exercise for 50 seconds and then have a 10 second break. After you complete all the exercises at your station you run a lap and then go to the next station. We had four stations with about 6 exercises at each… there is no time to get bored. They said the exercises changes every class. They have stability balls, tread mills, bikes, trx, free weights, tires, etc.
In between station changes he had us run a lap around the building. I hate running, but sucked it up and it was fine. There are many fans running and the a/​c is great.
There is parking in the front of building or around back. I definitely will be going back for some more fun classes! They have special offers through Unilocal and groupon.

This place is AMAZING! It’s everything you could ever want in a workout! This is EXACTLY what I was searching for! High intensity classes that really keep you excited and wanting to come back for more! Every single trainer here not only looks the part but acts the part! From positive motivation to feedback on how to do each move correctly! LOVE the energy and the atmosphere of this gym! All locations are GREAT! If your looking for a workout that will test your strength and endurance EVERY time. This is it! I love how all the trainers are different but at the end of the day have the same goal! I’m hooked!

I’ve been here twice. Those who know me know that the issues I have with authority preclude me from enjoying a place like this much less paying for it! Jorge was the instructor the first time and Amy the second, these have been some of the best workouts I’ve had in a while. After only two sessions I feel better and look more defined. Great instructors, great crowd, excellent workout. RESULTS.
