Being from north jersey I guess I expected to much to ask for a plain pizza. If other than trying to feed your kids forget this place. The pizza in one word. Horrible!

We were having a lazy day by the beach and pool, and we decided to order delivery of pizza & salad from Sal’s. The price was fair for the area and the delivery prompt, though I would just say the food was average. The crust of the pizza seemed a bit dry and flavorless, and the dinner salad was pretty lackluster(toppings were skimpy and the dressing was way more oil than vinegar). I’d probably order from Sal’s again to give a second chance, but I didn’t walk away from the experience overly enthused.

I can only comment on the Gelato at Cecelia’s next door. AMAZING!!! Do not pass this up! As good as Italy’s gelato, no, really! We were there 3 times during our vacation. Oh, and the cannoli was delicious also.

The other reviewers are bananas. This place is delish. Delivery is a little slow but that’s because they are always slammed. Why? Amazing pizza. Give it a whirl.

The food is decent and the staff is nice. The décor could use some updating.

HORRIBLEANDOVERPRICED!!! Id rather eat the rotten a**hole of a roadkill skunk. I left unsatisfied and still hungry for the 40 bucks we paid here. The ceasar salad was just chicken and iceberg lettuce and the sausage and peppers were served on a stale piece of bread. No bread served before our main meals and our appetizer sucked as well. STAYAWAY

I waited over an hour for pizza that tastes worse than stale dominos. The best part was the delivery only showed up conveniently after we called an hour in to our wait time. Oh and the mozzarella sticks were cold and the pizza fries were soggy slash almost inedible. Thanks for nothing Sal. If that’s even your real name.

We have a place across the street from here. The food is decent, nothing spectacular. I have a problem with the service. We always get takeout and any time we call whoever answers the phone usually sounds very annoyed. Will probably not be going back this year.

I love to go to «Ma & Pa» places. Support your local family owned businesses. With that being said, that is exactly what you get when you are here. They treat you like family. Remember your face, your name and what you eat. If your in a rush, this is not the place for you. Food here is made to order… so it takes as long as it takes. Food is made with love and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Fun loving and silly family with amazingly positive attitudes. Food is great. We have NEVER been unsatisfied. Owners have even sat down with us to enjoy conversation and drink. Love going here, the food and the family. These people will even make things that are not on the menu. So many things to choose from. I love their broccoli white pizza with ricotta on it. AGAIN not on the menu, sprinkle garlic on it and enjoy. Our family is so glad we found this place… gonna be a long winter without them here.

I too don’t agree with all of the bad reviews. Ordered pizza and some chicken tenders for my little one. Pizza was good… not in my top 10… but good none the less. Crust was crisp. a little thick for my taste. toppings not very plentiful. but definitely still good(I am a pizza snob, btw… Noone beats Modern in New Haven). Crew was very friendly and attentive. Owner gave my 2 year old a bag of chips she grabbed on the way out lol.

I’ll echo everyone’s comments about the slow service. I ordered one pizza and salad for takeout and was quoted 30 min. When I showed up then I was told another fifteen. Well twenty min after that it was ready. I would give the the pizza itself five stars, really just perfect — white special pizza with broccoli and ricotta is making my mouth water just thinking about it. The chefs salad was average. Overall probably twice as expensive as I would have expected. Really, I might go back just for the pizza, though, and give myself an extra half hour to wait.

To start off with, this place is advertised all over Wildwood. However, they are totally unprepared of any business. On this particular night they took the phone off the hook or just let it ring. When customers did get through they were told«no» to questions about the menu and turned business away. The food was mediocre and in the future they should focus on customer service because in a town with amazing food, I don’t think they have repeat customers. There were issues with every takeout order and staff just threw objects like phones and pizza boxes around in disgust of their customers.

Pizza is great just do yourself a favor, add 15 minutes to whatever they tell you. I’ve been doing takeout for years here. … always busy but worth the headaches.

Mixed review. While the pizza itself was delicious the journey one must endure is questionable. It took approximately 2 hours to get our food(picked up for take out) so if you have the time take a chance. I took special note of the pizza making abilities and techniques and was impressed although I would have left it in the oven a little longer as I like a more crispy finish. Very busy operation so the food quality opinion must be shared by many. Would have given them a 4 had they known how to be more efficient.

July 9,2014: Not surprised about the bad reviews. Our in person order was wrong when we got it home even after correcting the girl 3 times when she repeated it back incorrectly. We ordered 2 ham and cheese hoagies and one Italian. All with oil. What we got was 3 Ham and cheeses. No oil. The rolls are so dense and dry they are rubbery. So without oil they were worse than that Hardly any meat on the hoagie. Why am I so disappointed? Because a local who claimed to be «in the know» told us these were the best hoagies in town. Methinks he was in cahoots to get them customers.

Would have a better review if I got my order. Told me 20 min for delivery. After 40 I called and they told me 5 more min. After an hour and 10 I cancelled the order and it came 20 min after that. Sent them away. No one communicates and they are horrible

No idea why this is rated so low, Ive had pizza from here many times its good. The pizza is delicious, the service has always been quick. Every pie I have ever had from them has been freshly made. Delivery has also always been within a reasonable time. Try a half Hawaiian and half Cheesesteak pizza.

Went here for a second time this summer. This is a family-owned and operated place and since my family is Italian some of my relatives spoke with the owner in our native language. He was very friendly and passionate about his business. I ordered some rigatoni vodka with chicken and that was very delicious, however one of us ordered fried chicken and that wasn’t as great(although it is an Italian place). The pizza is pretty thin but not bad. The seating is no frills(kind of like a cafeteria) and the place was hard to walk in with the line of people waiting for takeout. The gelato is delicious, especially the bacio one(think Nutella), despite its price. One really bad note: my mother ordered some coffee(again, it was a mistake) and it was basically like tar. Unfortunately we were charged for it because we didn’t want to embarrass the owner who was walking around. Next time they should just say they don’t have the coffee rather than serving something undrinkable.

Sal’s you did us dirty. The offenses: * Cold, old pizza that the people working at Sal’s couldn’t even be bothered to toss in the oven to warm up before shipping it out * Nasty«pizza fries» that made my tummy feel all sorts of wrong And, for the ultimate offense: * a chicken wing with a very large, very white, very VISIBLE feather still attached to it. Disgusting.

I’m gonna make this quick. After a whole day at the beach, my family and I returned to our hotel room FAMISHED. We knew we wanted pizza, and asked the front desk for a recommendation. The gentleman behind the counter recommended Sal’s, so that’s where we ordered delivery from. They must be in high demand, because it took at least an hour to get our 3 pizzas. The pricing was average, and the woman who delivered was sweet. While my hunger was satisfied, my spirit was left wanting something more. Sorry, but Sal’s did not quite live up to the hype. Perhaps it was the dry, crispy-but-not-in-a-good-way crust. Perhaps it was the oversized, grossly overcooked green pepper slices. At any rate, next time I’m on the Shore, Sal’s will be a no-go.
