Whenever I go down to Wildwood for vacation, my family and I usually come here for a big family dinner. I’ve been here a couple of times, and every time we leave, we leave unsatisfied. The food isn’t anything special, and the atmosphere isn’t nearly as sophisticated as you would expect a waterside restaurant to be. The view is nice, but nothing spectacular. Lastly, the menu is limited and the selection is nothing short of average. The quality of the food is hit or miss; it all depends on what you order. I usually order any seafood dish that sounds good. I’ve gotten the crab cakes before and I enjoyed them. Also, the raw bar is pretty good. I’ll get oysters anywhere that serves them, so I usually get them here and enjoy them. Otherwise, for the money, I’m not necessarily sure this place is all that worth it. I may or may not be back. There’s a lot of great places in Wildwood worth trying, so I don’t think I’ll be disappointed if I never go back here.

Worst crab cakes we ever had. Not the best place to get food. Maybe fun to sit at the bar and watch football. About it…

I always give places a second chance, oh my we shouldn’t have. I’m learning my lesson. On the water, which looks so nice on the outside sitting there. We love the area and go all the time to sunset lake to watch the beautiful sunsets. Oh and yes a large table we can seat you. Felt like a heard of cattle. They sat us next to a big tub where they dumped dirty dishes and there were flies. Food sorry to say was not worth the money, was extremely dissatisfied because I really wanted to like this place. If you order alcoholic beverages stick to bottled beverages. I really feel bad giving bad reviews but in all honesty this business has a great spot so step it up and make it better, I know you guys can do this. Your staff is really nice so your half way there.

Really put a damper on our summer weekend We both ordered the jersey corn crap bisque. It was VERY thick not much taste kinda reminded me of the soup that was made for my Great Grandmother in the nursing home to keep weight on her. Loaded with starch not even milky just thick and tasteless. We were going to send it back but were REALLY hungry after a day at the air show. We sat inside as it was very windy out. Ordered the blackended Mahi Mahi and salmon for my guy. His salmon was a little over cooked and a tad fishie. Mine tasted good but was as a bit over cooked with a tasty white sauce. So my guy asked if the fish was defrosted in the microwave. the waiter came back said it was defrosted in water. so much for fresh fish… RIGHT? Also.our fish was almost perfect squares and had no skin on the bottoms. I still do think they were defrosted in a microwave. Well here is the HUGE downfall of our meal. We live an hr away from the Bayview inn. We stopped at Home Goods on the way back. we’re there for 2 hr. both of us while in line got burning bad tummy aches. he called Bayview while driving home told the manager of the problem with the soup .The manager assured him the soup would be removed and he was sorry. The soup was the only thing we ate the same. Our tummies got worse while driving home just barely making it back to the house in time. About 9 pm I called Bayview back asked them what the specials were. one was was STILL the jersey corn crab bisque. Its very sad they don’t care if people get sick on their food. It’s now Sunday 10:20am my tummy STILL hurts still going making trips to the bathroom. Yes there is a great sunset there. To bad food isn’t one of their priorities. We will never return.

Views are amazing at sunset and the food came relatively quickly. Unfortunately, ordering that food took a very long time because our waiter was no where to be found for at least 20 minutes after we were seated. When the food came, it left a lot to desired as well. I had the hot roast beef sandwich and it really lacked flavor of any kind. The side of au jus didn’t do much to help out either. When combined only with the side of wise chips, the kaiser roll sized sandwich was not a filling portion. Overall, the bayview has the potential to be a great family restaurant, but it could use a refresh of the menu with some signature dishes that are seasoned well.

The raw oysters were rancid! The waitress did offer to remove from our bill when we were able to flag her down. The waiting area smelled like rest stop on the AC Expressway. Heard later that night the establishment is on the chopping block.

We were party of 10 with a reservation for a birthday get together. The service was awful, we had to ask for condiments 3 times we waited half hour for drinks, could never find our waitress. We had wings for appetizer and the brought them without blue cheese we then waited for 15 minutes while the wings got cold, same issue waiting for horseradish that was supposed to come with the dinner. The food was nothing special but passable but the service just awful. Oh and then the band came on and the were set up right behind our table, I am not kidding 5 feet from our table with speakers, flashing lights etc. not one of us will ever return there.

The food here was decent for the price. It is your typical bar/pub food. We got the crab and shrimp melt, pulled pork and steak sandwich. They were all tasty however I found it funny that they were accompanied with a bag of wise potato chips and other sides were an extra charge. I guess that’s why their prices are low. We also had the crab dip which was ok. Not great. They were served with Melba toast and it would have been better with s bread of some kind. Also there was not much crab in the dip. I would go again as its a quick place to get a meal at a decent price.

There are two parts to this establishment. This relates to the restaurant area vs. the bar area(although the restaurant section also includes a second bar). This location has so much potential. It has incredible views(especially at or near sunset) and a massive layout. The owner, however, seems to have stopped investing in improvements or putting out a better menu. The food and beer selection are mediocre at best, with no meaningful vegan options. Its really unfortunate, because its such a truly fantastic location. it gets crazy crowded in season, so try to get there early if you dare to try this place.

A phenomenal location with a terrific view! Sunsets on the deck here can be spectacular. And that’s about it. The food is just one step above«fast food» — and it’s a small step. Fried scallops were overcooked to almost black and stringy-dry(so bad I think they took them off the menu). Red pepper crab bisque seemed to have no crab and needed half a shaker of salt. Steamers had so much sand they were crunchy. The u-peel shrimp weren’t large enough to be worth the work. Fried oysters were overdone too but not as bad as the scallops. Mussels got lost in the pasta and would be better as perhaps an appetizer. Wait staff struggles to keep pace during a summer dinner service. Fire everyone, air the place out(musty!) all winter and try again next year. Or call Robert Irvine or Gordon Ramsey and ask them how to cook.

DISGUSTING. The place smells like a public restroom and the inside is very dated. Even the outside of the restaurant looks like it needs a complete overhaul. It looks like a total dump. The menu has been the same for years and every summer I am optimistic that they will change it, but they never do. The meals are terrible and tasteless. The menu is shit and the prices are RIDICULOUS. NEEDSCOMPLETEUPGRADE.

Heartbreaker. Great view, great atmosphere, and great presentation. Sadly, that is where the positivity ends. There were 5 of us tonight and we each had at least 1 disappointing item. Going around the table, we had: cold food, tough pork, tasteless chowder, un-spicey«buffalo shrimp», and an undercooked burger. Sad. I guess it still scored 3 stars b/c we live right down the road(on Bayview), so it’s sentimental. With Duffy’s gone and changes unavoidable, an off night won’t keep us away!

I wrestled with giving 2 or 3 stars. I had the roasted red peppers and crab bisque which was very bland and needed a lot of salt. I also had the hot and honey buffalo wings which were lacking sauce. The French fries were okay… nothing to write home about. I visited a second time just for key lime pie which was good just the slice was extremely small. The was good but the food is average at best.

We got here early and got good service until a giant rush of people came in. The food was great though and the happy hour deals were great. The oysters, steamers, and steamed spiced shrimp were all half off and tasted great. The entrees were well priced and filling. The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because we waited a while to get our check.

Menu underwhelms. Staff was inattentive. Need more seafood choices. Salmon crab cakes clams and shrimp are not a full seafood menu. Value felt below average. View is the best thing this place has going.

Check in 5÷2÷15: This place was mediocre at best. Ate a group dinner which the buffet was priced at $ 19.95 per person($ 25 with tax and gratuity). A complete waste of $ 100 for 4. Crabcakes were small and dry with too much filling. Chicken marsala was overcooked and dry, the beef was tough and the salad was limp. The floors were grimey upon entering which is a turnoff. I was envying my friend who ordered off the menu, but when her salmon came, it too was overcooked and dry. I had a better meal earlier that day eating boardwalk food. Go figure, but the location was nice. In dire need of renovation and/or new management or both.

I’ve been here many times but this review is for September 112014 Separate raised bar area. The restaurant surrounds it but since elevated you never feel like you are in a bar. Great views of the bay. I wonder if they will someday take advantage of the location and maybe have some grills on an outside deck? The food is always good and reasonably priced. Tonight. Roared red pepper and crab bisque, Full of crabs Clams Casino and NY Strip Steak. YUM. At 23.99 its a Jersey Shore bargain, I’ve seen it 10 to 12 more elsewhere at the shore. Would have gotten 4 stars but my bill which was 50.83 she rounded up to 51 and returned with $ 4 change. How dare she. This seems to be a trend. «Rounding up». Hint: Don’t try that on anyone over 30.

I’m not sure why this place has gotten such a bad rap, because I’ve been here many times and always enjoyed the food. Now, to be clear — this is not a fancy, gourmet place. It’s an old-fashioned restaurant/bar, and when you come in with reasonable expectations, they are sure to be met. This place is HUGE, and draws a similarly sized crowd. It certainly helps to have giant windows lining the back wall, which all face out to sunset lake. You really can’t beat a sunset here, and the restaurant has a nice walkway that guests can check out while they wait for their orders. The bar is raised slightly, which helps to break up the open space. Like I said, I’ve always enjoyed the food here. The Lobster/Crab soup is delicious, with huge pieces of seafood. I also enjoy the«special» mussels, served in a dijon sauce, and the crab dip is delicious. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in the Wildwoods. As a bonus, Friday and Saturday nights offer trivia.
