For five billion years, the sun has kindly colored and incubated our planet, and have we been thankful? No. We’ve slathered on SPF-​80 sunscreen lotion. We’ve blocked romantic sunsets with caustic city smog. We’ve ignored the 1,000 watts per square meter per second that the sun so graciously deposits in our backyards.

In 2008, we at Sunpro Solar decided to change how we treat the sun. So the next year, founder Adam Evans and partner Jesse Green installed their first photovoltaic solar system. Today, over 30 Sunpro Solar employees design and build bespoke, full-​service solar systems for business, residential and government clients. We are a certified Elite Dealer for the Sunpower Corporation and one of the fastest growing companies in the Inland Empire.

We think of ourselves as solar cowboys. In the same way that Texas cowhands lassoed the steer and made him fruitful for mankind, so we capture the sunlight and make it productive. We do it all for our clients: engineering design, installation, system monitoring, etc. Our motto: «Call today, save tomorrow.»

History

Established in 2008.

Adam Evans is the founder of Sunpro Solar. In 2009 he and a partner Jesse Green installed their first Solar PV system. Today they lead a business with over 65 employees and are now Elite dealers for SunPower Corporation. Incorporated in 2010, Sunpro Solar is one of the fastest growing companies in the Inland Empire. Sunpro Solar has the highest rating offered by the BBB.

As I write this my bath is too cold to take it and my end of the year electric bill is $ 4900! This is a terrible company and if I knew it would be so bad I would have stayed all electric. First of all our installers were not the best especially the one who was vomiting in my yard during my installation. The water heater they put in does not heat enough water. The electric bill has not changed at all and now I have a solar bill too! We have called Adam many times and this has not been rectified. BEWARE before using this company. I wish I had.

I have had a SunPro system for about 5 years now (ten year lease to purchase). Yes, there were some problems with financing, etc. but once that was all said and done, we have a 7Kw ground mount system and yes the meter runs backwards (I’ve watched it). Our bill was over 800.00 in the summer when we first built our house (5000 Sq Ft on 9 acres), but after the installation, I have never had a bill over 300.00 in the summer (remember that the 1.49 bill is only for taxes, the true cost is on page three of the Edison bill), but I have talked to people whose true bill was a net 0. I am waiting to see if the lease to purchase truly is a $ 1.00 buy out, and can’t wait to see my electric bills stay so low for the foreseeable future.

I will start with the positives. Great product, decent price and financing options far superior to Solar City or Sungevity. Unfortunately, for my personal experience that is where it ends. I started my journey with Sunpro the first week of June and here I sit four months later without a system and no idea of when I might have one. Despite some initial mishaps and lack of communication, I stuck with Sunpro and things did not get better. No sense of urgency, I always have to reach out to them for updates, I received my HOA approval 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything from them. I don’t know, maybe they just don’t want to do my install for some reason?

I have had nothing but an excellent experience with Sunpro Solar! I was looking for a company to refer my aunt to and after doing a lot of research I decided to call Sunpro and get my aunt set up for an estimate! The were friendly, professional, and knew what they were talking about. I totally recommend this company to anyone who is interested in going solar! I will refer this company to anyone and I have!

I took time out of my schedule to have Sun Pro come out and give me an estimate. Mike from Sun Pro showed up and looked at our house and said that he would send us the estimate in a few days. A week went by with no call or email. I contacted his office and asked what was wrong, the woman in the office said that she would contact him and and have him send the estimate. Five more days went by with no contact! I figure this is probably par for the course and if they act like this during the sales stage the installation stage would be even worse. I would never recommend a company that treats a potential customer this way!

I chose SunPro Solar this Spring. The office staff doesn’t seem to know what the salesman are doing! The workers would just show up to work with no notice to homeowner and that was quite annoying. Finally by the end of May the system was up and running and as said only owe SDG&E a little over a dollar a month! August 13th I get a call from a worker and he says he needs to check the production of the panels. Lucky us the inverter box is broke and they have to replace it with a new one in the next couple days! Hopefully everything goes well and our system will be up and running. Dont get me wrong, I love the panels and they do a great job, wish we would have gotten sooner! I feel the office staff and field workers could know what each other are doing a little better.

I have thought for a long time that solar electric was a smart thing to do. Sunpro Solar has confirmed it. I have had the system for 2 years now, my current electric bill is minus $ 143.00 That’s right I have a credit of $ 143.00. Summer is here and I will start using my credits on air conditioning. I have 24 panels (producing 35 Kilowatts a day) for a 2600 square foot home with a swimming pool. I own a 100% electric Honda Fit and charge it every night. My electric bill averaged $ 200.00 a month and is now 0. I paid $ 16,821.00. In six more years my electricity will truly be FREE. Thank You Sunpro!!!

Very disappointing. Set-​up an appointment 10am for Monday. Received a call at 10:05am Monday morning that they were not going to be able to make the appointment. They informed me that I would have to call back later to make another appointment. No explanation as to the problem.
A sales rep then sent me an e-​mail offering me a discount. Come to find out this discount offer is the same one that you can find in any discount coupon book.
Very poor customer service.

I chose SunPro Solar almost two years ago now and went with their lease. They offered Sunpower products which are supposed to be the best of the best. Not sure if they are but i have really enjoyed saving money and have zero issues. The office staff seemed to be a little out of sync with the sales people but i don’t find i sync with many sales people.
My project took just over 3 months from beginning to end and i have now saved about $ 6,000 dollars over the last two years on my combined bills. They have by far the cleanest looking installations that i have seen and there are now gaps or spaces in the array like many others systems i have seen.
The guys that installed the system were in nice matching uniforms and everything they did seemed to be with an eye for detail. They even color matched all the conduit inside and outside of my house.
My system is 24 of the 320 watt panels and has currently produced almost 5% more than they estimated on the high end. It has been awesome! My bills have been $ 139/​month for the lease (prepaid the lease using hero) and my SCE bill is about $ 1.78 each month and then i have had to pay a «true up» bill at the end of each year since i installed the solar and last year it was $ 124 for the year and this year it was just over $ 130.
SunPro has still been in contact with me letting me know where i am at on my production, they do ask for referrals when they call but i am happy to give them since they have treated me awesome.

We are 100% pleased with our installation by Sunpro. They helped us design a system that is large enough to charge an electric car, as well as bring our monthly electric bill down to zero. I especially liked the way that the inverter was installed inside our garage, out of the heat, dust, and hands of thieves. Also, the system wiring was routed so that nothing is seen from the front of the house. The installers did an excellent job perfectly matching the house paint when painting the pipes carrying the wires from the roof. Sunpro also did a great job helping us to navigate the system to collect the local, state, and federal rebates.

I wanted to wait a year before I reviewed SunPro Solar. They made me many promises from the beginning and after one year I am pleased to report that they have kept each one of them. I dreaded the in home sales process and my husband was only moderately involved but sat through each of the presentations from the four companies we selected. Two of the four sales people had me checking the silverware after they had left. They gave me the creeps and even though they had a compelling product at a good price I had to pass. My decision came down to SunPro and another local company. I chose Sunpro because they not only offered a fair price but assurances about my ability to contact them at anytime during the process, monitoring of the panels, and production from the panels. I am happy to report that after one year the panels are producing 6% more than they said they would. Which means that my E-​bill which was supposed to average 25 $ a month after going solar only averages $ 12 a month. The installation process was very smooth for me comparable to when we re-​did our landscaping. It did not interrupt our schedule except for one day we needed to be home. So glad we did it and while I can be tough to satisfy I am in this instance. I recommend them without hesitation.

It’s been almost a year now since SunPro Solar installed our solar system, and I’m telling you, a year with out Edison bills sure has been nice! We installed a «ground mount,» so our solar panels became our new carport, so our cars have new shade and we produce solar all in one! We were very pleased with the whole process from salesman to installation to the final product.

We ordered a massive 78 panel photovoltaic solar power system from Sunpro Solar in order to power our koi ponds, a turtle enclosure, many webcams, servers and everything else at Geek Hill.
The team from Sunpro descended on our 50 year old carport and several other auxiliary structures, reinforcing as required and installing massive anchors for the rails and racks going on the buildings with flat roofing.
These guys know exactly what they are doing and exactly how to do it. On the first day of construction the General Manager visited our home and gave me his card.
When they said they would be here they were, with one exception for which an apology was given freely. Everything they installed worked right away.
The particular microinverters we chose work with a network portal that gathers stats from each panel and blurts that data to the manufacturers servers. We then get free access to stats on their website, which I can also iframe into a page on our own Geek Hill website.
Now about 5 months after we signed a contract with SunPro we just got our first bill from SoCalEd that shows net metering, meaning our meter turns backwards in the day when our usage is less than our production. The system was apparently designed very well because our low net energy usage for June left us 95% in billing rate tier 1. This is better than projected.
Our system is apparently producing slightly more power than what was promised.
I can recommend Sunpro Solar with no hesitation whatsoever.
Update September 2012: Southern California Edison finally got a round tuit and showed up to insp[ect our system. The engineer required me/​us to demonstrate that our 78 microinverters would shutdown as designed in a power failure. I proved it. We now have official Permission To Operate (PTO) from SoCalEd.
So far we have not had a monthly usage summary over $ 100 which is better than what we had expected.
I’m completely satisfied, it worked out so well.
