History

Established in 1999.

Audrey Mercado, CPDT does not remember a time when working with animals was not her life’s goal. She started out as a dedicated volunteer for the City of South Gate K9 Training Program. She has fostered dogs in need of permanent homes, promoted awareness of animals in need of homes and helped with adoption events.

In 1995 Audrey started working as an apprentice trainer for NJ Dog Services and in 1999 landed a job with the City of South Gate K9 program. She spent 6 years with the group where her direct supervisors were some of the country’s leading applied and certified animal behaviorists, from them she learned a great deal about animal behavior, training and treatment of behavior problems. The experience she gained from the program proved to be invaluable and ensured her success working with dogs as a private trainer.

Audrey is a full member of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) and certified by the Certification Council for Pet Dog Trainers. She is also a graduate of NJ Dog

Business Owner

Audrey Mercado is the owner of P and I Dog Training & Pet Services. She has been a Certified Professional Dog Trainer since1999 and holds shelter and rescue dogs close to her heart. Her background left her with a true felt awareness of the high numbers of relinquished dogs due to behavior problems that could easily be prevented through management, training, exercise, and proper communication. Her goal is to provide dog owners with the building blocks to a better relationship with their dogs.
