Absolutely love this place i go there with the family on taco Tuesdays and ortegas is always on me and my family’s list. Great food, everything I’ve had from here is BOMB!!! They aren’t greedy with the sea food neither.

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years, never had a problem. However, that changed when I called in an order and they told me it’ll be ready in 20 minutes. It took 50 minutes! I got there exactly in the time they told me to go. And it took 30 more minutes. I never got an apology. Nothing. They don’t understand the concept of customer service by any means. I’ll never come back here. They need to learn the basics of customer service.

This is a favorite spot for our family! Our favorites are the shrimp dish. You get about 20 shrimp, cooked whatever style you want, al mojo de ajo, a la diabla. And the shrimp are not skimpy. They are on the larger side. The service is excellent and the micheladas are always delicious. I have never been disappointed when visiting ortegas.

The food here is the truth!!! I drive all the way from Carson to come eat here. They give u homemade salsa and chips which is yummy! I loveeeee their butter garlic shrimp that’s served w rice and salad. I get this everytime!!! You can request for the shell off if you’d like. I’ve also tried their ceviche which is very good along w the bulldog margarita. The ambience is clean, small little market, mostly families come to eat here. Food is the bomb and I always crave the fried shrimp dish. My mouth is watering just by talking about it :)

The ONLYTHING lacking… and it definitely isn’t with the food. but the environment. There’s no AC and it gets very hot very fast in there. Service is ok. They have a steady flow of sit down eaters as well as people getting something from the fish market counter.

Not the most attractive strip mall to have a restaurant. The interior of the place is not too appealing either. However, the food makes up for the restaurant’s eye appeal. By the way, did I mention the food is delicious?

Came here the other day and it was terrible the fish tacos I ordered had absolutely no flavor! I was pretty disappointed. Here’s a good seafood place for ya! Mariscos El Perihuete in Anaheim on Lincoln Ave & Gilbert St, now that place has some amazing fish and shrimp tacos!

I’d recommend this place if you’re looking for a taco Tuesday for fish tacos. Tacos are delicious and they don’t give you skimpy pieces of fish just because they’re on sale. They’re $ 1.25 each when regular price is $ 2.49 I believe. I haven’t tried any of their other food so I can’t vouch for that but whatever kind of seafood is on display always makes my mouth water(I LOVE seafood). I always call in my order to go and it’s ready in about 10 – 15 minutes. I have not sat down to eat there so I don’t know how their service is but when I go to pick up my food it’s always pretty quick.

This is my go to place for seafood. Everything I’ve had here has been fantastic– tacos, ceviche, campechana, aguachiles. Even the salsa is really good. On my most recent visit, I split some shrimp and octopus ceviche and a chipotle shrimp burrito. I think their chipotle shrimp burrito is the best burrito I have ever had, and I’ve had a lot of burritos. The shrimp a la diabla is also fantastic. I wanted to drink the sauce the last time I had it. However, I controlled myself and just used tortillas. The restaurant itself isn’t the nicest looking place, and the strip mall it is in looks pretty shady, but if your willing to overlook that, you’ll get some amazing food.

«$ 1.00 tacos, yes 1 dollar»! That’s all my husband had to say on a Tuesday evening and I said«YES»! The first time I tried these tacos we ordered them over the phone! He went to pick them up and when he came back I wasn’t expecting anything too good! Honestly I had some doubts because of the price! We got fish tacos for us and Carne Asada tacos for the kids! We also ordered a fried Tilapia just to see how it was. The kids were pleased with their tacos! I was AMAZED! Good portions of battered fish and the amount of salsa they put on is perfect!(Well at least for me) They also give you extra salsa of course! The Tilapia was less than $ 4.00! Say what!!! Also very tasty, and fried to perfection! The second time we came in to the restaurant! On the outside it looks like some very suspicious activity goes on in the parking lot! The door to the entrance is a heavy white metal door!(reminds me of my mom’s front door at her house) Remember that when you come! :) This place is a market/restaurant! You can buy your fish and take it home to cook! You can buy Ceviche or Agua Chiles by the pound! We got seated right away! It wasn’t busy at all! There aren’t many tables so I could see this place getting packed pretty quick! We got menus and drinks almost right away! You get salsa and chips brought to your table! I love the warm, thin, slightly salted, crisp chip and yup they have em here! The salsa wasn’t spicy just good enough to eat with the chips! The menus are pretty extensive on the choices and might be overwhelming but I’m sure the waitress would help out with that! We just stuck with the tacos and they were just as tasty as the first time! They have a salsa of guacamole that they use that is so good! They put it on the tacos except the fish ones! The meat choices were Carnitas, Carne Asada, Al Pastor and Chicken! All were super tasty! This is where I lost the hubby… he wasn’t as impressed on the flavor! :\ TIP: If you have picky kids, they allow food from McDonald’s in the restaurant! They don’t get all bothered by it! The sevice was awesome! The waitress was very kind! I love when the waiter and waitress at any restaurant have bubbly personalities! It’s not a make it or break it deal but it helps! Cynthia was awesome! Hope she’s there next time we go! FOURSTARS

Bring on the raw fish. CARNEASADATACO jeezus that way too much meat! — that’s what she said. SHRIMPCEVICHE quite good. FISHCEVICHE This was so finely chopped I could have eaten it if I were 90 yrs old and had no teeth. So it was still pretty good.

Friend Tiffany suggested we come out and try out this restaurant as it had good reviews and tasty looking pictures. I ended up ordering the Sky, sea, and Land Seafood plate. Order first came out with a salad, rice, beans, and tortillas. A minute later the skillet came out with Carne Asada, shrimp, chicken, and grilled onions. After having my meal the Carne Asada was prepared very well, shrimp was grilled perfect, but the chicken a lil on the dry side. Overall it was a very delicious dish with a large portion. Would definitely come out again but really want to try out the breakfast menu.

I was in the mood for some Seafood. While searching Unilocal,I ran across this place with good reviews & lots of great pictures. It reminded me of Cancun! It had the Mexican Flair. The restaurant is in a plaza next to a bakery. The Entrance was a bit confusing so be careful not to walk into the wrong door as I did! LOL. As you walk into the restaurant, you will be greeted by the smell of fish/seafood, more like fried fish & grilled seafood. You’ll see lots of tables & chairs in the center & booths along the wall & windows. There are display cases of fresh seafood. Fish, Lobsters, shrimp, oysters etc. A server came to greet us & sat us in a booth next to the window. The menu was pretty large & as on as I opened it up, there’s breakfast choices, they looked good but I wasn’t here for that! Finally the next page has a seafood platter, it looked delicious but it’s quite large so you’ll need a big group to dig into that. The combos all sounded good but I opted for the Shrimp & Octopus Salad while my friend got the Sky, Sea, & Land Combo. The server came back with chips & salsa & of course I had to have the Mexican Coke! Our food arrived in about 15 minutes. My salad looked pretty good & my friends combo platter came sizzling with the side plate of rice, beans, & garden salad. The Octopus was prepared nicely not chewy at all. The shrimp was cooked just right, all sat ontop of a bed of Iceberg lettuce & were cut up to the right size to eat. The cucumbers & tomatoes on the other hand were cut up a bit on the large side so I had to cut them down to eat. The salad had some sort of creamy dressing, a bit too rich for my liking to o squeezed in some lime juice for a little acidity & brigjtness & sprinkled some Tapatio to give it a little kick. My friends platter looked good but I didn’t taste it. They said it tasted nice. The carne asada was good, the shrimp was butterflied & grilled, & the chicken was well cooked. Overall, I would come back to try out the other items they offered. It was a good experience & the food was also good. I would recommend this place if you’re in the mood for some Seafood.

First of all, Patrick the Butcher brought me here. He mentioned how this place is trashy from the outside… but it’s like a place you don’t want to go in but once you go in, it’s not too bad. After some debating on which taco tuesday spot to venture too, he dragged me here. Above all, Patricio says hello to all of you. When my place is ready, i’ll invite all of you over for bbq. Now to the food. At first, we had some communication problems. Patrick tried his broken Spanish which was hilarious then i gave it a shot. oh man. my spanish has atrophied too much. the consequences of relocating to OC and dealing mostly with gringos. The service could have been better but nonetheless the host were accommodating. This is my only time here but i got a gist of what’s up. Before ranting about the grub here are couple neat things… 1. the beer fridge is help yourself so you don’t have to wait 2. it’s a market lol, you can buy fish, tortilla, veggies, etc. that’s sorta it. Chipotle Shrimp Burrito $ 8 This burro is messy… Very messy. Had to use a knife and fork. Flavor wise, it was good. not great, but not crappy. As Mari(sol) of Whittier likes to say, Mexican grub is all about the chile/salsa which i translate to sauces. The chipotle they slabbed in there was sweet. Not spicy at all, but my genetic disposition should be a disclaimer(Korean). Not to say all Koreans eat spicy but I fit this category. The burro was filled with onions, tomato, bell peppers(grilled), a crap load of scrimp and a pound of cabbage. I’m sick of cabbage(kim chi). Most of the leftovers were spilled cabbage pieces, but they not stingy on the scrimps. Each bite or cut was based around 1 – 2 pcs of shrimp. Portions weren’t glorious. It was somewhat small. The visual size is ginormous but its filled with cabbage so if you squish it, it’s small. Don’t squish it though cause all the juices and oils come flowing down like Niagara Falls. Taco Tuesday $ 1 I just had to try a taco. Carne Asada. They offer fish, pastor(pork) y pollo. Tried asada this time. The asada was dry but they put a generous portion of guac which covered it up. Not too shabby for a buck. Other pluses: 1. Limon. nice juicy, thick chunks. They didn’t serve the dry kind. 2. Unlimited chips. If it wasn’t for the chips, probably would have eaten three or four more tacos. yep. i can eat like i mean it. 3. Music. Mariachi. It’s not authentic until you hear that annoying but overly sexy trumbone and screeching mexican singing as if someone stole their last box of oreos. 4. Crowd. Since there was ebt signs everywhere, i thought this would attract ghetto crowd but i was wrong. Mostly old school Mexicans who mind their own business, quiet and don’t shake the booth like a 8.9 earthquake. Cost: $ 21 for two burritos and three tacos. Drank water this time. I encourage ya’ll to give it a shot. They are a close five star but not yet. Maybe my mind will change after a few more visits =D edit: dropped to three stars for apparent service descrepency and discriminatory tendencies. happy grubbings
