Love this place and the food is great. Fresh fish ceviche, fish tacos and cocktails are BOMB! Some of the girls that work their are great eye candy which is a huge plus lol. Great place to watch any of the current soccer games and have a cold beer1

It is frustrating that I can eat this food every day. Let me just say, the oysters, which are from the Gulf of Mexico, are absolutely some of the best and most delicious you will have. No weird sauce or gimics, just a ton of lime, salt, and Tabasco ready for your choosing. The shrimp cocktail was expertly crafter, with an almost silly amount if thick, plump, citrus cooked shrimp. The juice is drinkable, it so good. Shrimp tostada was again, flooded with fresh shrimp and creamy avocado. Lime and hot sauce need not apply, but do it anyway because it just kicks it up to 11. Restaurant was really clean, all the dishes coming out were crafter with care, and the service was awesome and with a smile. Prices are in point, and the beer selection on draft was great, and ice cold. «slow clap»

All I can say is DAMNNNNN. I love seafood and my family is from all over Baja California so I’ve tried it all! This place was amazing! We had fish tacos, ceviche tostada, shrimp cocktail and 2 double micheladas. To start the shrimp in the cocktail was so fresh, I swear if I closed my eyes I felt like I was in Ensenada grubbin! The fish taco was bomb too, perfectly crispy and filled me up, it’s big enough to separate the tortillas and make two. I didn’t have the ceviche because I was stuffed but my boyfriend said it was really tasty and fresh as well. The micheladas were sooo good, And I’d like to think I’m a bit of a Michelada queen, I struggled to finish the double but it was so good and had the perfect amount of everything. Overall I can’t wait to come back. I’ll prob order a taco and eat half and then a small cocktail. ALSO shout out to Idalia our server, she was funny and showed us great service! l

I’m a big fan of seafood, but this place does not come close to 2 stars. Salty tasting on the ranchero shrimp plate. yes definitely could have been better. The service of the waitress is where the disappointment came in. I had no choice but to hear in blast mode, drama conversations among employee staff. Second when asking for the bill, the waitress does not have to scream to cashier who happens to be in the restroom: «ya cortale!»(ghetto, hello). I was so embarassed by that comment and it wasn’t directed towards me. Ugh! my final conclusion, waitress needs proper training. We are not planning on coming back. There are better seafood eateries then this one.

This place had really great food. After reading some of the Unilocal reviews, we were skeptical about the service. The food rates a 5 while the service rates a 3. Therefore I gave this place a 4 star. We ordered shrimp cocktails and shrimp tostadas. Both of them were amazing.

I wish Unilocal had(-)minus stars to give on reviews. I just left this place and I left with an upset stomach. It’s too bad cause I really enjoyed their food but their customer service SUCKS!!! Let me start by saying this. You don’t tell your customers to wait outside when it’s really cold and it’s about to start raining. MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORS. Talk to your employees especially the one with the(red/burgundy/blonde hair) whatever the fuck color she has on that customers do pay attention to detail. Like when she skips the waiting list to seat her acquaintance(family/friends) first. Are you fucken kidding me. She tells us to wait outside so we wait outside then I notice a female walks in then comes out and tells her other friend«come on» I’m like did she just seat them before us when we’ve been waiting for a while. Then about 10minutes later I see another family walk in and I don’t see them walk out. I go inside to check on how much longer the wait is and … I see those two parties seated at a table eating chips. WHATTHEFUCK. AREYOUKIDDING me. STAYAWAYFROMTHIS ESTABLIshment. I rather drive another 5 minutes and go to El Pescador in the city of La Mirada.

First off, I’ve eaten at Colima’s plenty of times. The service isn’t the greatest, but in those instances what kept me from writing a bad review is that the food is good. Specifically, the cocktails, fish tacos and micheladas! HOWEVER: The service here has been on a decline. I’ve attempted to eat there twice in the past two weeks. Once at 7:45 and another time at 8:10. The first time the girl at the front, who ignored us at first while also being on her phone at the hostess station, had us waiting there for 5mins or so while we were right in front of her(rude). Then she walked away and had some guy tell us they were closed. ITWASONLY8:15, and outside it says they close at 9. The next week we tried to go again this time at 7:40ish. The girl up front, with the worst attitude, was pretty much trying to turn us away saying that«there’s like 12 people ahead of you and they were going to close soon». It was still before 8. Who says that??? Like do these servers not keep their tips or are they stretched pretty thin by management. Needless to say, after two attempts won’t be coming back. Message to the servers: get out of the service industry if you don’t like serving people. If you want your Friday’s free, find another job because working Friday nights and weekends comes with the territory of being server. Also, put your damn phones away. To management: are you guys even there when this is happening? I see your servers roaming around the restaurant on their phones, slowly waking to each table, and have a look of disgust when a new customer walks through the door. It’s absolutely outrageous to me. Where is the sense of urgency to correct this problem?

Thursday night, my best friend came in to catch up over micheladas & fish tacos. We normally go to the one in hacienda heights, but came to this one because they serve alcohol here. We walked in at 7:30pm & waited at least 5 mins till someone came over to seat us. We promptly got attended & ordered drinks. We ordered 2 double micheladas. It took us a while to get those, longer than I thought. Finally we got to order food, ordered 2 fish tacos, a shrimp ceviche tostada & a fish ceviche tostada. The micheladas & the food were great as always, double points for carrying Victoria! This is where our visit went to shit. Well, besides the waiting already. Once our food was dropped off, we NEVER saw a waitress again. There was only one other family there so there’s no way they were too busy. This was a problem because I was trying to flag her down to order food in advance for my boyfriend that was stopping by. 15 minutes later, I finally flag one down & I ask if I could order more food. She then tells me that they are closed. WHAT??? It’s only 8:30!!! The sign & Unilocal say they close at 9, but they cut it at 8:30. I told her that the sign says they close at 9& she just looked at me & said sorry & walked away. WHATTHEFAK! But she came back real quick to drop off the check & then stood there till we paid because she«had to go.» This place is ruining the Colimas name! I’m never coming back to this one. I’ve never been more irritated with an establishment. Colimas, you guys really need to fix this because clearly I’m not the only one with the horrible service problem. How are you going to turn away customers 30 minutes before closing, all I wanted was a freaking taco. B.S.

I’m giving this place zero stars for their horrible service. It’s Friday during lunch and lent, but if you’re expecting it to be crazy, then you really need to have more servers and cooks. Your restaurant really needs them. What makes it worse is that I saw a server getting sauces ready which was the LEAST important thing you could do during a rush. I had to get up from my table to walk over to the server to ask for a box. The other guy was on his phone. And the other server was just playing around. You can’t even bother to ask if we want more chips while we’re sitting around for 45 minutes for simple dishes? Food overall was okay. I’ll probably come back but when it’s empty.

I have passed this place many times and finally decided to give it a try. And now i wish i had tried this place long ago. My girlfriend and I split a dozen oysters on the half shell. They were fresh, kind of on the small size. I’m used to cocktail sauce and tabasco, they were served with lime and a small bowl of fish ceviche-very good. I got the mixed tostada(shrimp, fish, octopus, avocado). It was piled so high i couldn’t fit it in my mouth. It was so tasty and fresh. The service was great also, very friendly. I love this place now and look forward to going back soon. The prices are fair. 12 osters=$ 14.95. The tostada under $ 7. See pic

AMAZING!!! The food was amazing from the CEVICHETOSTADA to the FISHTACO to the MICHELADA! Food: The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered two ceviche tostadas and let me tell you that they don’t mess around. Also, a huge plus is they are only $ 1.50. What a bargain! There was plenty of ceviche and it was BOMB! I was salivating after my first one and as I write this review I want to go back. The fish tacos are just as good and I got it grilled. Alcohol: When I walked in every table had an alcoholic beverage, so I decided I would have a MICHELADA. It was the BEST one I have had! Now I know why everyone had one at their table. Customer Service: They were constantly checking on us and refilling our drinks. I was very satisfied. I cannot wait to go back! I have already recommended this place to a couple of my friends.

3 small mixto seafood cocktails and a dozen oysters for $ 25! You can’t beat that. You know a place is good when it’s full even after lunch. The seafood was fresh and delicious. Mixto seafood cocktail had shrimp, octopus, fish, and avocado. No frill restaurant but great service here. The waitress literally came by every minutes to check up on us if we needed refills or more orders. We felt very welcome here. Delicious!

Very reasonable prices ! It’s usually quiet in the late afternoon, so finding a table isn’t difficult but in the evenings it tends to get packed, especially on weekends. I ordered a Campechana and ceviche tostadas, they were all very good. Wife likes it so I’m sure we will be back soon.
