Simply fabulous Peruvian home cooking. I’m particularly fond of the camarones al ajo(shrimp in garlic sauce), chicharron de pescado(fried fish with French fries and an onion salad to die for!) and the many styles of chaufa(fried rice). Huge portions, reasonable prices. I’ve only been here for takeout, but there seem to be a lot of regulars who dine in. Love this place!

Definitely authentic place, mostly Spanish speaking, food comes in HUGE portions. Very friendly service. Very reasonable prices. The area is a bit sketch, but there is street metered parking nearby. The restaurant is styled in a diner-type trailer. We had the: 1) half rotisserie chicken which came with side of rice and salad. HUGE portion — enough for two people. only $ 9. I’ve definitely had better with crispier skinned chicken skin but this was decent 2) salchipapa — $ 6 fries with sausage, comes with side of salad. Big portion, sausage was flavorful as expected, fries came very oily and could be crispier 3) Pollo saltado — $ 10 stir fried chicken with rice and fries mixed in. BEWARE it comes with cilantro. NOTE — the rice is white rice but comes salted which I wasn’t used to and would have preferred bland since the food is already quite salty. Also the green sauce was spicy but I’ve definitely had better at Pio Pio.

Chicken is almost always never ready. Be prepared to wait for it. Other than that, the food is great!

This was my first time here… everyone was talking about this place, so I was excited to come. I had the sudado pescado and my friend had the tres leche. Very good, tastes food! Definitely will be back.

This place is a little hole in the wall. Same setup as Star Diner but wider. Food was very authentic and tasty — I had ceviche as an appetizer and arroz con camarones for my main, and what made it really authentic was the fact that no one spoke English. It was fun and very reasonable. Next time I’m in the mood for Peruvian food I can save myself the trip to Port Chester and go right around the block. Maybe I’ll try the tallarines…

Their chicken is delicious and the rice is perfect. Get a half of a chicken with rice and salad(iceberg lettuce, cucumbers and a little bit of dressing) for a ridiculously cheap. The only downside is they don’t speak any English and struggle to get your order.

Short summary: Best Peruvian Restaurant in White Plains. So, why 3 Stars then? Glad you asked. Pros: Most of the food is cheap, the place is clean, the staff offers good service and they are open 24⁄7. Their pollo a la brasa is by far the best one I’ve had in White plains. Cons: They tend to be really busy all day, so be prepared and order ahead of time. Their delivery guy also takes forever to deliver food. Most of their traditional dishes are prepared just right. I noticed that they use ingredients exported from Peru, so you really get to taste authentic Peruvian food. –Just don’t come here if you are really hungry and you want your food to be done in 10 – 15 min.

I really wanted to give this place a great review. We walked in and the place was packed with locals — a great sign. I got soup to go, and an order of steak. I was overcharged for the steak(it was corrected when I pointed it out); I ordered the chicken soup($ 5) — but the hostess insisted the $ 8 soup was the same as the $ 5 soup — that the $ 5 item was listed incorrectly? Didn’t make sense — but I wasn’t too concerned if I got the $ 8 soup. However — the soup was such a disappointment. It tasted like canned soup, the chicken seemed artificial(odd texture) and it was filled with pasta and some potatoes. So if you come to this restaurant — I would avoid the chicken soup.

Went there yesterday and got one of the steak options. It was really good and love the green spicy sauce for it. My friend got the ceviche mixto and that was great too. Next time I go I will definitely try the chicken or the pasta. Great time. The restaurant is kinda small and you might come out smelling like food so if you are going out after maybe bring something to change into but aside from that great experience

Fresh and authentic. Super affordable, big portions… most importantly DELICIOUS! We had the chicken soup and the perihuela… while the chicken soup was a bit bland for my taste the perihuela(seafood stew) was OUTSTANDING! Super fresh fish and shellfish in a tomato broth.

On a scale of 1 to 5, this place is a 10. We ordered shrimp in garlic sauce, tilapia in garlic sauce, chicken with peppers and onions, sweet plantains and a bowl of beans. First, the food came out sizzling hot. It tasted very home made. The shrimp dish probably contained a dozen jumbo shrimp. The garlic sauce was an intense garlic experience. The beans were yummy and the plantains were perfect. Very sweet and freshly made. Oh and don’t forget to order their bread pudding if they have it. It is not too sweet and studded with grated orange rind. Yummy!

Great food, portion size and affordable prices but, but, but, why would you wanna come back here if you were treated badly by one of the employees thinking she is the shit by claiming she is related to the boss-slash-owner. Why would you want to be treated by that if you’re a customer. I know it’s busy and she may be pissed at some point but why take it out on another customer who just happens to just order to go. I used to love this place cause their Chaufa de pollo is heavenly and amazing but kinda salty. The thing that turns me off was how they treat customer. Rude and nasty. Can’t even understand a simple order on phone in plain simple English and Spanish. Okay we get it, you’re related to the owner what does that have to do with my order I placed over the phone. Lesson here kiddies don’t argue with a customer if you don’t understand what the flock is going on. Just wait tables and don’t answer the phone. Holy meatballs I sound mean but that just was totally wrong of her to put us on spot. Will never go back here again. Thanks to your dear waitress whose name I cannot mention.

Two friends and I ate here last night and we really liked it! The food came out really fast, and the portions are huge! I had the steak, egg and plantain meal which came with a salad. The dressing on the salad was — I think — some sort of mild verde dressing and it was really yummy. The veggies in the salad were very fresh and crispy, too. The steak(cooked medium) tasted good, but was a bit on the dry side. I usually prefer more of a juicy skirt steak, but this steak was flavored very nicely so I didn’t mind. My one friend had the same steak and a pasta with green sauce — very good! I think I’ll order that next time! My other friend had the rice and shrimp(sorry, I don’t remember the exact names of the dishes), and the shrimp were big and tasty. The reason I’m giving this place only four stars is that the waitstaff are polite, but not very attentive. My friends had to ask for water refills twice and got no apologies from the waitress. The waitress also wasn’t rude, but she wasn’t very friendly… unless she seemed to know you personally, which seemed to be the case with some of the diners there last night. With all that said, I definitely do want to come back here. I think next time we’ll eat at the counter because the service seems a bit more attentive there. The bonuses of this place are: it’s away from the main strip of restaurants and bars, so parking is relatively easy, big portions for about half the price of other South American restaurants, and the food is delicious(again, the steak needs some improvement, but it was good). Just don’t expect very attentive service if you sit at one of the booths.

Visited for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Based on other Unilocal reviews, I went with the fried rice with mariscos, which was quite a dish — loaded with egg, nice shrimp and tender squid, and studded with bits of octopus, mussel, and what I think was scungilli. Too much food for one person — better to share this one. Needed a bit of hot sauce. Washed it down with an Inca cola. My colleague also had a mixed seafood, in a savory yellow sauce over french fries. I ordered a side salad which never arrived. Some people got rolls, we didn’t. While a reasonable value, given the funky décor and lack of accoutrements, I wouldn’t say my dish, at $ 13.00, was cheap. There was an $ 8 lunch special available, a lot of food for the money, but the main course was tilapia, which is not my cup of tea, Will go back for Peruvian chicken.

This is my greatest find. Ok i was looking for a Japanese Restaurant to eat but then suddenly i turned my head and saw Heaven. Yes Yes Jesus or God as some will say hangs out at a Peruvian food. Not since Flora De mayo have i seen another peruvian restaurant. And you know what my senses were right. Purely Authentic. I was def the only non Peruvian in the house. And you know what that means. Purely Delicious. The Seafood Ceviche is so good YOU’LLSLAPYOURMAMA. The Seafood Fried Rice. Ok Ok I SLAPPED my mama. The desserts are made fresh. Inca Soda was great. The Roast Chicken was so good as well. Believe me you will be Slapping someone after eating at El Miski. So don’t wait drive run or crawl your way to El Miski you will not be dissappointed.
