I have been visiting this place for tacos a few times and I just realized I never rated it in Unilocal.Delicious al pastor tacos and steak tacos, as well as lomo saltado and also a very meaty and satisfying chicken soup. Call you order in before you head over and beat the wait. How do you know its an authentic place? Cause when you call, it takes the person on the phone a minute to find someone who speak English! When you walk in, you can see the guys cooking at the griddles, flames rising up and you know the stuff you are eating/​ordering is freshly made. Ample street parking on the street and its open ²⁴⁄₇. Great place, clean, friendly staff and delicious Mexican and Peruvian food.

A bit over priced, but they have awesome rice and beans and guacamole. Limited choices for a vegan though.

Authentic Mexican and Peruvian food. A big «hole in the wall» but definitely worth it for the delicious food. We had arroz chaufa with chicken and Saltado the mariscos.

Got the enchiladas with red mole sauce. Authentic, filling, and a good deal. Great food and service.

The spot looks sketchy, a small local joint. But that was exactly what I was looking for. I was tired of all the fusion experimental cuisine and wanted some legitimate, homestyle fare.
And that’s exactly what I got.
The spot itself has 2 tvs, one playing soccer, the other playing Latino NBC. The kitchen is behind the counter, out in the open, allowing all those delicious smells permeate the air.
Our waitress was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. Although they boasted tacos and burritos, I was intrigued by the Peruvian offerings.
I ordered the Lomo Saltado, delicious meats stirred up with tomatoes and onions, laid over a bed of French fries and a side of white rice shaped like a pyramid. It was so good, I had to stop my wife from eating off my plate. I also had a steak taco which was the most authentic taco I have had since I’ve been to Mexico.
She had the steak burrito with was two-​handfuls of delicious awesome.
Did I mention the pricing? We paid $ 28 for all that and had leftovers.

Great authentic Mexican food. I ordered (and continue to order, as I keep coming back) the steak tacos with cilantro and onions. They’re served with lime wedges and salsa (I prefer salsa verde) which is exactly what I’m used to at taco stands in Mexico. The staff has been very friendly whenever I’ve picked up food here. Authentic atmosphere as well, nice Spanish music playing makes for a lively dining experience. They also serve Mandarin (and other flavors) Jarritos which is my favorite beverage to wash down good Mexican food. I currently work at the hospital nearby so this is quickly becoming a regular spot for me!

This place is definitely a hole in the wall, but the food is authentic and amazing. This place introduced me to the torta, and it is now one of my favorite mexican foods. The verde enchiladas are also excellent. I wouldn’t come here if your looking for a nice sit down dinner, but if you want quick and authentic mexican food go here.

Horrible owners! Every time I call it’s always a different price. How do they charge me $ 3.50 for a 2 liter soda and then charge me $ 4.50 for the same soda the next few days later? When I asked about the price difference they got mad and said they change the price whenever they want. What type of business does this? Food is alright but prices are horrible. Place has cockroaches and they charge prices as if they were a high quality place. Just checked out the menu they gave out for my delivery and prices weren’t even the same that I was charged for. These types of places need a wake up call!

Authentic Mexican food! If you want what they eat in Mexico, this is your spot. The Al Pastor is amazing. Most of all, the portions are huge and the prices are low. What more can you ask? Oh, their home made hot sauce is delicious! Probably too hot for most gringos lol

I have to say, I absolutely love the beaded chicken sandwich. It has a great mixture of veggies bread and chicken. And it’s huge! I can only eat half of it! (Although I do have a small stomach) but I would definitely recommend it! And the staff is very prompt to help you. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and helped.

This place is amazing!
I was just running around town, and with a quick search to see what was to eat in the area google offered up this fantastic location. Decided to swing by and see what it was all about.
I’m not even a little dissapointed that I did! First, the smell all by itself was fantastic… invited me right inside to grab a seat/​table and pick out meals.
After a peak at the menu I decided to try out a couple of tacos (Al Pastor and Carnitas), served of course with cilantro and diced onions. I also sampled their roast chicken while I had the chance thanks to an awesome server.
Everything was so amazing!!!
The chicken was moist and succulent. Full of flavor and cooked to perfection. It was everything I could do to not add that to my order because I’d have to much food and no where to keep it!
My tacos we’re equally as good. The Al Pastor was pushing the dry side, but not. Just barked up enough to be of flavor and keep you in for the next bite. Meanwhile, the Carnitas were equally as moist and tender as the chicken and simply delicious.
Zero complains, and every bit delicious. I don’t visit as much, but will have to make it a point to come back… and make Café Veracruz a prime stop when I’m in the area!

I have been waiting to try Veracuz since the Summer and never found myself in the area again. I was told the food is fabulous — the guacamole, particularly, to die for.
After waiting 30 minutes (for tacos and guace… to go!), I cannot express how disappointed I was in food.
The al pastor was dry and hard. The carnitas were flavorless and in cut up chunks. The guac was okay, but certainly not knock your socks off.
Don’t believe the hype.

This place delivers the best tacos carnitas in White Plains: it’s very juicy, chewy and fresh. One bite alone it’s enough to get all your taste buds working. However, the wait line is often very long and their tortillas tend to be too dry than most tacos restaurants. If you are looking to hang out, the ambience is adequate and is definitely the best compared to the other restaurants in the area. All in all, this is the best places for tacos in White Plains.

I waited 15 mins for two tacos… And they were so disappointing. Totally dry chicken and beef dressed up with some onions and peppers. The best thing came 12 mins into waiting, chips and hot salsa, which could have been brought out at minute 2.
I’m not going back!

Being Mexican, I can tell you that I am super picky with food in the states. Not this place. This is as if you were walking into a cantina in Puebla — atmosphere included. Tacos are the best around the area for sure. Weekend specials are solid — but really, the tacos are the steal here. En serio. Go here for authenticity.

Shortly after ball dropped last night me and the boo decided to get a bite to eat. I was craving Mexican and we called up this place that was about a 10 min drive away and they were open and apparently seemed iively because of all the music in the background. So we get there and this place is super mexican… men in sombrero’s doing karaōke. Its like a typical tiny dominican spot but Mexicanified. I was in Mexico a few weeks ago and Mexico wasnt even that Mexican! Super funny to me, but I liked it. No idea what they were singing about. Super loud, 4 big TV’s and beer on the floor. Packed with men, about 3 women and 2 kids at 3AM. Their was only one waitress and she held it down. I had the Al Pastor Taco’s. Pretty delicious and BF had the Chorizo Tacos… They were yucky and tasted burnt but I could see where they were going with the flavor, had a nice spice. Its a little over priced. The bill was about 31 bucks. $ 2.50 for a soda? and $ 9 for burnt chorizo :/
But they are 24 hours so, I wouldnt mind coming back if im in the area to try something else

Great central location, just up the street from White Plains Hospital. Open ²⁴⁄₇ Cuban tortas is delish, comes with complimentry chips and salsa. Friendly helpful staff. A hidden gem in White Plains

Best carne asada burritos y papas fritas in town!

Amazing tacos al pastor (pork with pineapple). The chorizo tacos are nicely spiced, the adobo tacos a little tough. But the al pastor and the spicy pork are the choices I return to. Beats all of the tacos I’ve had in the city (believe me, I’ve been on the hunt), and makes me nostalgic for the ones I’ve had in San Diego! The neighborhood is kind of sketch, but the food is very authentic — nobody here really speaks english, so be sure to point at the right item. The tortas are supposed to be good as well, although I really can’t get enough of their tacos.

The roasted chicken and tacos al pastor are excellent. Everything else is ok. A bit overpriced for the ambiance and service
