Kraig has been servicing our furnace and air conditioner in two different homes for over 8 years. We have used him for regular maintenance and once for a thermostat issue. He is straight-​forward, reliable, and reasonably-​priced. He is always very friendly and has great knowledge on HVAC issues. I would highly recommend Modern Day Comfort.

Kraig came out to look at the scope of work for my kitchen remodel. He left and said he would send me an estimate that day. That was on a Tuesday, by Friday when I hadn’t heard from him I emailed him to get an update. He said he had sent the estimate and to check my spam. 1) We both have gmail accounts so it’s highly unlikely it went to spam (in fact it hadn’t, I checked) and 2) When responding to my email why wouldn’t you just reattach the quote? I asked him to resend the quote and still haven’t heard back, that was over a week ago.

Kraig is the Best!
He’s knowledgeable & nice and explains what he is doing and why.
I had Kraig come and tune up my furnace right after another HVAC company replaced my blower motor (at an exorbitant price). The high priced repairman from the other HVAC Company said that my fan cage was warped and that I had small cracks in my heat ex-​changer — so he recommended that I get a new furnace.
After seeing these positive reviews I called Modern Day Comfort and Kraig came on-​time for the appointment, he cleaned and inspected the furnace and told me that the fan cage and heat ex-​changer were not a concern at this time. Instead of having to bite the bullet and buy another furnace I only had to pay Kraig’s very reasonable price for the tune-​up/​inspection. And with Kraig’s annual tune up I believe that I can get a number of more years from the old furnace.
I highly recommend Kraig for his honesty, integrity and abilities to diagnose and fix HVAC issues.

Kraig has done a great job both times I’ve needed him. He answers the phone, he shows up when he says he will, and his fees are reasonable. Both times he repaired my furnace, he quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired it. I’d recommend him to anyone needing HVAC work done.

I’ve had Kraig Kane from Modern Day Comfort out to my house several times. I can trust the words that come out of his mouth are the truth. Called him when my furnace went out and he showed up fairly quickly, just like Superman to solve the issue. Will definitely call them again. They are as good as it gets.

Our furnace went out at 1am and it’s zero outside. I called Craig @ 6:30 am, after a failed 3 am service call from another company. He was so responsive. He called and arranged for my part to be picked up by his tech and delivered to our home by 9 or 10 am. His quote saved me hundreds! Craig is like having a family member in the business looking out for you!

Look no further! All the reviews I read were accurate.
I had 4 estimates for our a/​c unit that had stopped working. Modern Day Comfort was by far the most informative, knowledgeable, and TRUSTWORTHY about our unit and let us know our options right away.
After evaluating all the estimates/​options, we had Kraig install a new unit. He explained each step of the installation and even fixed a part of our furnace that wasn’t working (free of charge).
I can’t say enough positive things about Kraig and Modern Day Comfort! He will handle all our heating and cooling issues from this point forward.

Kraig was seriously so great and talked to be about everything I needed to know. He was very thorough and even helped me with my front door (totally not in his job description). Absolutely fantastic! I can’t say enough wonderful things about Kraig and this company. We just moved into a new home and when we turned on the upstairs A/​C, we realized we had a problem. We first called another company, which charged $ 200 bucks to come out and tell us we needed to replace the unit to the tune of several thousand dollars. Luckily, we decided to get a second opinion. The initial visit was a fraction of the price charged by the other company (and is waived if Modern Day Comfort is hired to do the repairs/​replacement).
No only was Kraig able to fix the unit for just a couple of hunderd dollars, he was professional, thorough and did the job quickly. In addition he checked out a couple of other issues we were concerned about.

I cannot recommend Modern Day Comfort highly enough! Service from Kraig is consistently top-​notch.
On Saturday, my furnace decided to blow a part. Kraig came out immediately, and spent two hours trying to fix it. We ultimately opted to replace the aging furnace, and Kraig spent all day Sunday at my house, installing the new furnace and adjusting the surrounding pieces to work more efficiently.
Kraig clearly takes pride in doing the best job possible; he is thorough, efficient, reasonable, fair, and explains everything clearly. Spectacular service every time.

Hands Down the best. My furnace had, what i thought to be major issues and it was disconnected by the gas company because of flames rolling out. Sent a contact form through his website and he called me within the hour to discuss what was going on. Texted some pictures of the problem and he came out on a Saturday morning. Fully inspected, thorough cleaning and service and we are up and running again.
Great pricing for the service. Will recommend to all my friends and family in the area that need HVAC service!

Had a problem with our attic furnace unit. Called Modern Day Comfort based on other Unilocal reviews. They were spot on in their strong recommendation of Kraig. Was able to schedule an appointment at a convenient time for me and he was right on time. Very courteous and efficient in his work. I like that he is a small business man willing to do the work himself instead of sit in an office and run a fleet of service techs. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and easy to do business with. That said, he is also high tech and knows how to get the job done right the first time. Will have him back when we are ready to replace our older units with new ones.

Modern Day Comfort recently installed a furnace at my house. Kraig was very professional and his attention to detail was truly impressive. My original furnace was on it’s last legs. Modern Day Comfort was quick to respond and was thorough in explaining all the options from repair to replacement. My original furnace was 25 years old and I decided to replace it with a 95% high efficiently unit. I am highly satisfied with Modern Day Comfort.

I’ve had to call Kraig twice regarding HVAC issues over the last 10 years. Each time he has been professional, gotten the job done right the first time, and been fairly priced to boot. It stinks to have issues with a furnace or A/​C but its nice to have a professional in the area that inspires confidence.

On one of the recent scorcher days we’ve been experiencing this summer, I realized my home was unsually warm. I check the thermostat and it was 80 degrees inside when I run my AC to keep my house cooled at 73. I don’t have the first clue about HVAC systems so a friend of mine suggested I call Craig with Modern Day Comfort, even though I am outside of his service area (I live in Aurora). I left him a message briefly describing my situation. He called me back within 30 minutes and over the phone helped me troubleshoot my problem step by step. After he determined it was a dirty air filter, he still walked me through doing a quick check of several parts including the AC unit itself to ensure further damage wasn’t done. I am convinced that had I called anyone else, they would have come over after waiting 4 hours, swapped out my air filter and charged $ 175+ for the privilege to do so. Craig quickly diagnosed my problem (again, over the phone) and all it cost me was $ 10 for a replacement filter at the store. As far as I am concerned this will always deserve repeat business. I am very grateful and would definitely recommend Modern Day Comfort. I will also now always change my air filter every 3 months!
