Our AC would not turn on.
Cabs phone rep said it will cost $ 65 for a service call which can be deducted from the total bill if i decide to go ahead with any recommended repairs. Asked if i could pay the Unilocal $ 25 «Tune up and Inspection» instead, she said «no» — as it would be a different set of work. she said I am free to shop around in case I get a better price elsewhere…
The appointment was scheduled on 19 April 2016.
One of the most frustrating thing is the 2 hour window wait for service personnel to arrive. I asked Cabs if they would be so kind to give me a closer window on the day of service, once they have a better idea of the tech’s schedule. They did and left messages making it a lot easier to manage my time. I appreciate that small detail of service.
Peter was prompt and found out in the end it was just a loose connection. Instead of a $ 65 diagnostics, he honored the Unilocal $ 25 and went around carrying out the rest of the $ 25 tune up. He found another issue to be fixed (urgh) and so in the end we were out $ 50 + $ 25 total. I like the honesty and integrity of the way they do their business, not taking advantage of the situation and doing what is best for the customer. He could have charged me $ 65 plus the $ 50 repair.
Sukhi followed up two days later and made sure all is well. I like her customer service — very friendly and even when she tried to up-​sell their package, it was not pushy/​hardcore.
i am so glad to have found a neighborhood provider whom i can trust for future services.

I received multiple bids to install a NEW HVAC system in my OLD home. CABS was not the low bid, but displayed that they would provide superior customer service. There was constant communication and follow up from the entire team. They assisted me with financing through California First and did all legwork for a complete and expeditious application.
The project was performed as promised and ahead of time. Peter, Sukhi, and Nika assisted me with a no questions asked customer service that was superior, and well above the industry standard of care.

I was in need of a last-​minute HVAC appointment in order to keep our escrow moving forward with the new buyer. I called two popular companies, and neither of them were willing to help. I almost gave up until I came across CABS awesome reviews, and am happy to announce, they were right!

I called them around 1PM, and they had a crew at my house in under 3 hours. Found the problem, fixed it, and now everything works great. The price was well worth the fast service.

I was a bit worried when my AC went out two weeks ago. I heard the horror stories about people replacing AC units costing upwards of $ 8,000. I knew everything was working but the air condenser unit. I did some research on new units, cost of capacitor, and things like that. I had a feeling it was the capacitor but I had no clue about AC. We ended up staying at my GFs apartment when the AC went out. She is moving in next month so the apartment will be out of the question.
I found CABS on Unilocal and read every single review. I knew I would have to get a professional to diagnose the problem. I kept my fingers crossed hoping it was a simple fix and I would be more than happy to pay a few hundred than pay thousands of dollars.
Peter showed up a little before our scheduled appointment. He waited until I got home from work. When I got home, he already diagnosed the problem and already replaced the capacitor. The cost was $ 200^ for everything; which I thought was a descent price to get my AC unit working. Peter explained to me my unit was not in a bad shape but could use a little maintenance. We kicked it on and voila!!! It was blowing cool air instantly.
Peter told me about the yearly maintenance services they provide for a fee. I thought it was a good deal for the one year but ended up signing up for 3 years. I got more discount for choosing 3 over the 1 year plan. CABS will do system maintenance twice a year. One for summer and one for winter to keep the machine working in top shape. Peter also waived the diagnostic fee for fixing my AC which meant more savings. Peter told me the capacitor will be under a two year warranty. After that it’ll only cost $ 40 to get it replace under the service contract I signed up for. He was also cognizant of
keeping customers credit card safe. He refused to have me give him my card info and told me they’ll call me for the payment. He did not want to have the info in his van and have it stolen just in case someone breaks into the van.
The office personnels were friendly when they called for the payment. Though the summer maintenance should’ve been done since spring, they scheduled it for next week and will come out to do the winter one in fall because I just signed up. The total cost of getting my AC running (new capacitor) and now 3 years of maintenance with discounts came out to $ 612. I am one happy customer now that everything is working and I’ll have professional maintenance checkup on my system for the next 3 years. That is a whole lot better than paying thousands for a new system. The system is at 10 years now and I hope the maintenance will help extend its life for at least 5 more years. A little update: Our AC went out again — long story short — our home was a rental and the AC was run really hard for several years. It was not maintained by the owners and it is 10 years old. So here we are getting it repaired AGAIN.
Anyway, CABS came out again at 7am on Monday. They discovered it had overheated and just needed the breaker to be thrown. They could have charged us or said we needed it replaced immediately, but they didn’t. They explained the issue, and gave us some feedback.
I am beyond grateful for the honesty and integrity of this company.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. They are reliable, honest, and ethical! I am just blown away. I don’t plan to use any other HVAC provider, these guys cannot be beat!

We had a very good experience with CABS. Our air conditioner recently stopped working and Peter was able to fix it within a couple of days after our call. We decided to get the yearly tune up package and the summer tune-​up was done several days later. The office staff is very responsive and organized. E-​mails were sent to confirm appointments and I have been told we would be contacted when our heater service would be due.

My dog chewed the wires for my AC unit. I called around and everyone wanted to charge me for coming out to look at. Not CABS AC they came out the same day and fixed the wires cleaned and did all other maintenance since I signed up for them to come out twice a year they did not charge me for the wiring they did great guys are approachable and friendly. AC was back up within the hour. Will be calling them again for all my other ac/​heating needs.

It can be hard to find a reliable service company when you own rental property and live out of town. CABS delivers reliable, prompt, excellent services to folks like me in this situation.
CABS quickly found me a convenient appointment time that worked with my tenant. They came out to do routine maintenance, and replaced a broken part without charging me anything extra for labor. The lady who answers phones was polite, efficient, and emailed me a copy of the receipt for my taxes.

I can’t say enough about this company. They are not only professional but very prompt and very accommodating. I called to schedule an appointment to have my furnace checked because I kept hearing a constant tapping inside the walls and not only did Mika schedule an appointment to have a repair technician come out within a few days, they worked with my schedule. I was not available during the week and although they close Saturday“s and Sunday’s they made an exception and allowed me to book an appt. on Saturday morning. Peter the technician was on time, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose the problem and agreed to not even charge me for a complete inspection as I agreed to have CABS come back the following week to come out to take care of the repairs. I can’t remember the last time I dealt with company that is not only fair, but does excellent quality work and genuinely cares about its customers. I compared quite a few companies and let me tell you they have extremely reasonable prices. I am definitely going to recommend this company to all my friends and family.

We came home on a Sunday evening after a 100+ degree day to no A/​C. Peter came out first thing the following morning and fixed our problem for under $ 100 dollars. He gave us some maintenence tips to follow and everything works perfectly. We are going to have them come out in the near future for a bi-​annual check up. I will use them for all our HVAC needs in the future. I highly recommend these folks!

Southport Community Church:
We have been having trouble with our A/​C units on our church building in the industrial area of West Sacramento for months (if not years). We have had several heating and air companies come out and look at them. One recommended work on one of the units that didn’t make sense, so we had to look elsewhere for help.
We are so glad we looked to CABS Heating and Air. They came out right way, fixed three of the four units for a price that was well within our budget. The fourth unit needed a major overhaul. The CABS technician (Peter), gave us a quote, and then when we were able to have the work done, he stood by that quote. The unit was working with just one day of work, and now our children’s Sunday School classes can learn in comfort!
What I liked best, was the way that CABS kept in constant contact with us from the time we called to be sure we knew what was going to happen and when!
We will recommend CABS Heating and Air to anyone in our church or the community that has a need! They are truly one of the better companies we have had work for us!

After coming home at 8 pm to a 90 degree house we called CABS first thing in the morning. They offered to come right over, though we couldn’t be there till the afternoon. With the crazy hot weather we have been having this summer, the last thing you want to happen is for your A/​C to die. I woke up one morning and could hear that our A/​C was on, but as the day progressed and the heat outside was rising both in our house and outside, I knew something was up and we had to make that call. This hunch was confirmed when I turned our A/​C thermostat to fan only then went to see if any air at all was blowing out the vents. Again, I could hear something was going on with our A/​C, but no cold air (or hot air, for that matter) was blowing out.
So my husband called CABS. The owner Peter was actually set to go to SF with his family but said he could stop by our place before heading out of town. Upon arrival, Peter was quickly up on our roof, checking everything out. He figured out right away that the capacitor on our A/​C was broken. Thankfully, he was able to swap our broken capacitor for a new one and within less than an hour’s time, we had cool air blowing back into our house!
Peter is a very nice guy and the rate was extremely reasonable for the fix! He is knowledgeable about old and new units. CABS can also give recommendations and do full installations of new, more energy efficient units when you are ready to make that change in addition to performing maintenance on your existing A/​C. This company went above and beyond to help us out when our a/​c went out. We have a new born and a toddler, and even though they were busy with calls they came out anyway and were extremely professional! I will use then again, and recommend them to anyone who needs help. Great company!

The service here was great. Peter, came the same day we called to try and fix our AC. The motor went out and he needed to get the right one so we had to wait until the next day. Very understandable considering it was 8pm. He got the motor the next morning and came back to fix it. Well, the AC was still sounding not right so he was not satisfied with the product and didn’t want to leave us with a less than perfect (or to us just quiet) AC unit so he went and got a different motor that same day and came back to fix it the same day.
Now we have a very quiet working AC. I would recommend this company to anyone. Peter was very friendly and trustworthy. He did everything he said he would do, in the time frame promised and provided excellent service.
