I had the most incredible experience at this salon. I had just moved to LA after years of the same top salon in NYC and I stumbled across Israel Garcia salon and am so grateful I met Cindy — she just finished my extensions and did the most incredible job. She was so professional and friendly and the entire salon was so sweet and made me feel like I was in good hands the whole time. I highly recommend everything about them!

Go to Mika. Very good hair stylist. She listens to you and gives you advice on what works with your skin color. Definitely I am going to come back to her. The place is very welcoming.

This little salon is great! Mika was fantastic and did an amazing job with my cut & color. I’m very pleased with my new hair do!

I’ve been going solely to Mika for my hair needs for years! From coloring to trimming to cutting, she always gets it right. I always get such great compliments after a visit to Mika. I highly recommend her. She understands my needs and we have a great connection, I wouldn’t want it any other way!

Did not have a very good experience here. I found a groupon for Mika for highlights and a haircut, and while I usually go somewhere else, my friend goes to another stylist there that rents a chair and said Mika looked like she was good. I made my appointment, and when I got there, I told them I didn’t need the haircut that came with the groupon because I had just cut my hair the week before. They said it was fine, but that if I didn’t use it that day I would forfeit it. Ok, that’s fine. Mika started on my hair; I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she said no problem. After she put hair color on my hair, she informed me that it would be another $ 50-​$ 100 for the highlights I wanted, because it was more «complicated» and «the supplies are very expensive, and the groupon doesn’t cover supplies». Ummm wtf? First of all, I payed $ 100 for this groupon that includes highlights and a haircut, valued at $ 150 according to the groupon. I’m not even getting the haircut, which saves you $ 50. Now you are telling me you want more money to do that my groupon says? I told her I wasn’t going to be paying anything extra. She tried to convince me to call groupon (on a Saturday, which it is closed), ask for a refund, and then pay directly to her the money I paid groupon. When I told her it was closed, she told me to just pay her the $ 100 and that she was sure groupon would refund my money on Monday. How shady can you be? Long story short, she washed the hair color out of my roots, dried my hair, and that’s it. I payed $ 100 to have a single process hair color on my roots (worth $ 45 at the salon or $ 55 with a haircut on groupon) which turned my hair RED which I told her I hate. Yet instead of asking me if I liked it, she kept saying «wow, it looks so pretty! Looks just like the picture!» (ARE you crazy? How could my hair possibly look like a picture of someone with blond highlights when all you did was put hair color on my roots to supposedly make all of my hair lighter before you did the actual highlights?) So today I have reddish copper roots, yellow highlights (from before which I came here to touch up in the first place!) and brown undertones. Why would you post a deal on groupon and then refuse to honor it or try to modify the terms? Total scam, no apologies and they redeemed my groupon with no shame (which I paid $ 100 for highlights and haircut, and what I got was they simply put light brown hair color on my roots for 20 min and rinsed. No foils, no highlights, no toner, no haircut, NOTHING.) Not worth the headache. This girl is totally inexperienced (I think she was a stylist assistant until recently), but she wants to try to charge prices that an experienced stylist charges. Sorry, if you want to charge over $ 200 for color or highlights, I’m going to a reputable stylist who I pay $ 300 to but doesn’t question me throughout the appointment and try to nickel and dime me, and most importantly, my hair looks how I wanted it to! You have a lot to learn about customer service.

Run Away. You have been advised!!! Terrible Job! Israel purposely,(bad mood) carelessly cut /​chopped down my good long hair in 3 minutes and left me with a helmet hair. It has been months and i am still furstrated and unable to fix it. Two other friends said the same about him. The guy simple does not know how to cut hair. He got stuck in the 80s style. .A few more years using pins now thanks to Israel bad careless job. Bad karma for you Israel.

I have been looking for a stylist who understands how to shape curly male hair. Since I discovered MIKA I stopped looking for others. She is AMAZING! And the salon has a great vibe, happy smiling people. I highly recommend Israel’s salon and Mika’s service :) She is AWESOME!

Mika is a hair whisperer !!! In the past, I’ve had pretty bad experiences with my hair dressers and this place completely changed my bad luck with hair dressers. I’ve always wanted a hair stylist who I could have a connection with and actually get an amazing haircut from. I have to say Mika is the first hair stylist that I feel understands my hair. I’ve got very long straight hair that has no volume and Mika transforms my hair into an absolute crown of beauty. I have a busy schedule so creating a haircut that looks good but is not too high maintenance is key and Mika delivers each time.
Thank you Mika! You made the CUT!!!

What a great little place. I had my first visit to Israel’s not less than a week ago. Even though I brought my bike, he showed me how to keep my hair looking good from home. Thanks to his staff for keeping a good energy. Also, I’ve hear there is yoga in the back?

Israel is the best colorist and gives one the best blowouts in LA. My hair is so shiny and beautiful, people stop me on the street and ask what you did to my hair to get it like that. Definitely a hidden gem and everyone that works there is always so nice and helpful. This salon is refreshing with no attitude or pretentiousness which is hard to find between Beverly Hills and West Hollywood.

Israel has been cutting my hair for almost 8 years and does an absolutely fantastic job. His salon is welcoming and clean, and nestled in a cool little house off Santa Monica Blvd. His staff is also wonderful, helpful and fun — especially Mika!
I totally adore Israel, he is a wonderful person and is extremely personable. He always listens to what I want, and delivers every time. Even considering his celebrity clientele and growing business, I always feel like the most important person in the world when I’m in his chair.
Every time I leave Israel’s salon I feel like I’ve received the best hair cut of my life, even after all these years. Simply put — Israel is the best stylist in LA.

We decided to book the salon’s back patio in July for my sister-in-law’s bridal shower, which was this weekend. In the beginning of July we had specifically asked for Sunday, September 7^th, from 11:00am to 4:00pm. We were quoted for $ 200 total, for 5 hours.
On the day of the shower we drove from Orange County to West Hollywood and got to the salon at 10:30, as traffic was surprisingly light. Once we arrived there was a yoga class on the patio, where the shower was supposed to take place. We called Israel, the owner of the salon, and he spoke in a very demeaning manner to my wife, stating that we weren’t supposed to be at the salon until 11:30. We were very confused so we jumped on our phones to check our emails. We were able to identify the email that confirmed our set date and arrival time. Soon Israel showed up and told us once again that WE were wrong and that the yoga class would get out at 11:30. (Our bridal shower was at 12, by the way). Unfortunately, less than 10 minutes later our guests began to arrive.
At 11:40 the yoga class was still not finished with their yoga, so I went inside the salon to find Israel. He was sitting in the waiting room and I politely asked if the class usually runs late. He snapped back that he didn’t know how this happened, referring to the overbooking. During this same time he stated that he was going to have to give us a discount for all the issues.
At 11:45 the yoga class finally ended and we had to quickly set up tables, linens, runners, food, drinks, displays, flower settings, and all our other party décor items. Mind you, some of our guests were rushing around to help us.
During this time Israel offered to set up the 6 tables and 30 chairs that we requested. The whole event was not only frustrating, but also incredibly embarrassing in front of our guests.
At no time did Israel apologize for his mistake of booking the yoga class over our event and the entire time he remained arrogant and extremely rude. Additionally, Israel was unprofessional, as he blamed everything on his assistant, Mika, who had been very helpful and sweet to us. When in fact, Israel had personally put our date and time in his computer, as we watched him do it, before we put the deposit down.
After we cleaned up we went to close out the bill and were told that we still had to pay $ 200, because Israel was going to really charge us $ 235 and he was giving us a $ 35 discount and had thrown in one extra table and linen!
I would personally like to thank Israel for partially ruining this event. I would highly suggest going to another venue for your event. Had this not happened I would have completely used this venue for many more events, just because Mika was such a pleasure to work with, and recommended it to friends and family. In the future, Israel should stick to doing hair, because he is no beauty when it comes to events!

Israel Garcia Salon is a home away from home. Everyone there is not only extremely talented in what they do but they are also the kindest people you will ever meet. I have never felt so comfortable at a salon before. The location is perfect and the building makes you feel like you are going to a friends house instead of a business. It’s beautiful and warm and the hospitality is unsurpassed. Free coffee and champagne? Yes please!
Israel has been cutting my hair for years now and is the only person I will go to. He has somehow managed to make my hair look amazing every step of the grow out phase from a short bob to long layers. I have crazy thick hair that hasn’t decided if it wants to be straight or curly so it can be tough to handle but Israel gets it right every time! Now that I am planning my wedding I feel so lucky to have someone that I can trust to help me grow my hair as beautiful and as healthy as possible for my big day.
You should try Israel and the «family». you deserve it!

I have been waiting to have my hair chopped and I was recommended to Isreal Garcia Salon by a friend. I asked for having my hair tied for donation and the stylist Mika gladly obliged and gave me a bag to carry it so it’s not so creepy with me walking around with a chopped ponytail.
She did an amazing job with my asymmetric bob! I was so happy with the result! She and the owner are both fantastic and attentive and made me feel so at ease about the dramatic hair change.
The location is a house converted into a work space with a salon area, hair washing area, massage station, some other spa room, and a relaxing looking outdoor yoga practice area. The décor is simple and charming. What makes the place is the people and I love that they are great at what they do with hair, and they are so kind and easy to talk to! I would highly recommend this salon to anyone!

Israel is the best of the best! He’s an amazing stylist and knows exactly how to make you look your best, whether it’s your hair or makeup (or both!) Israel and the entire salon staff are so friendly and welcoming and the space itself is really unique and peaceful. It’s quite a treat to get even just a quick haircut here (the head massage is my favorite part!) Highly recommended!

I have been in to see Israel for my hair styling several times and he’s great. I can say only say great things about Israel and his work. He is a master of his craft and I have never received such great care and attention as I have with him. From the cloth robes to the head massage, he and his professional staff go above and beyond five star service. They offer complimentary water, coffee, wine, or champagne too!
The best thing about this place is the energy. From the first time I walked inside I felt as though I was entering a home, not in a place of business. The homestyle feeling and the attention to detail are what keep me coming back. Every visit has truly been a peaceful, pleasurable experience.
