Outstanding! They were right on time with their estimate and came in $ 500 cheaper than the local tree trimmer. The crew arrived sooner than I thought and completed the work in one day. They have all the equipment and are so professional! Great company!!!

THE BEST. They know all about trees types, what is the best for the trees, and the safest/​cleanest way to remove them. Very happy with their service. We’ve used them twice to remove large, dying trees from our property. Thank you Adolfo and crew for your excellent service!

I’ve had Adolfo and Community Tree Service do two large residential jobs on my property in Soquel, one this year, and one last year. Both times the crew did everything asked and then some. I highly recommend

I had them remove a large sycamore tree. The price was competative, they arrived when they said they would, did a great job, and returned to repair a fence that was slightly damaged. Great work, fair price, no problems.

Horrible company and owner! I need a good tree service company, but I will never use them. They could have made hundreds off of me, but instead chose to «weeny» their way out of personal responsibility to the tune of $ 15.00. Good going!!! You are smart!
They are blocking the one-​way road in my neighborhood so the FedEx truck delivering my very important package couldn’t deliver it. I paid an extra $ 15 to have this package delivered today. I called the main number and spoke to the receptionist who said she would contact the owner. A little while later she called me back and told me that the owner is one of the people on site in my neighborhood. He said he told the FedEx truck to go around the wrong direction on our one way road to deliver the package. However this would be impossible for a truck of that size to maneuver the intense uphill of the WRONG direction of my road, let alone turn around and go back down. Another issue is that they never warned the neighbors that this work would be taking place today and that we would have our road blocked.
Terrible customer service… Think twice before hiring these schmucks.

I would most definitely not recommend CTS. A couple years ago we had them trim some trees and they did a good job at a good price, which is why we called them again this time. The gentleman who came out and gave the estimate seemed to have a really good sense of what needed to be trimmed and how to do it while preserving the beauty of the trees. The workers who came out, however, did a terrible job. You know those fancy poodles with the bald tails and the poof ball at the end? That’s what our trees look like, the trunk entirely stripped most all the way up with some remaining clumps of leaves at the very top. Considering the size of the branches they removed from the trunk, these trees will not look pretty again in my lifetime (I’m 44), if ever. Neighbor thinks it looks good, but that’s because he won’t have hardly any leaves to rake. At least someone is happy.

These guys removed a tall (60 ft) oak from our property. Adolpho was right on time for the estimate and honest in his appraisal. The price was good. The 2 man crew showed up at 8 a.m.and had the tree down by lunch (these guys were some HARD workers!). The brush was removed, big wood was split, moved and left on site for future firewood. Nothing was damaged on either our property or the neighbors. The job was completed the same day The office staff I spoke with were friendly and helpful. Very happy with the outcome and would use again and recommend to others. Thanks Community Tree Service!

I cannot recommend CTS. We hired them to remove some invasive bamboo, and there were several issues with the job:
1. The estimate was extremely vague, and inaccurate: It was for 9 hours and the job took 12, a 30% increase. At $ 150/​hr, I would say that is an inaccurate estimate, and we refused to pay the additional amount. CTS met us halfway, and «only» charged us 15% additional.
2. When Adolfo came over to do the estimate, I explained that we wanted a new barrier around the remaining stand. He knew exactly what I was talking about: a particular type of plastic, put in at a specific angle and depth. Unfortunately, the two guys in the crew hadn’t been told about that part of the job (!), and they had no experience with bamboo barriers (I asked). They said that some CTS crews had done this before. (Hmm, why didn’t they send one of those crews?) I had them call Adolfo to confirm that that was part of the job.
3. They were only going to set the barrier 6″ deep. My husband had to stand over them and make sure they did it correctly.
4. Another very important part of the job was to remove the roots around the outside of the barrier. I discovered the next day that they didn’t do this, so they had to come back. CTS «only» charged us an extra $ 30 for this work (which was part of the estimate).
I feel if you have a simple job, CTS is probably ok. If there is anything unusual, though, you’ll need it spelled out in the estimate, and you’ll need to supervise the crew. Adolfo is knowledgeable and personable, but there is a serious lack of communication between him and his crews.

I really wanted to like this company. They came highly recommended from a respected source. When Adolpho came out to discuss the work that was to be done, I liked him and what he had to say. We discussed how and where the cuts would be made on a beautiful and unusual specimen tree that needed to have weight reduction on a branch that had a stress fracture, and also to be reduced some in size.
We agreed on a date that the work would be done. I realized a couple of hours later that I had an appointment that morning and called the office to reschedule. The tree crew came on the day originally scheduled, forced open my gate, and to my horror, were just finishing when I arrived home.
The crew had not done what I discussed with Adolpho. They had thinned out the interior and removed any possible branches that could be used to shorten and remove weight from the broken branch. This is tree pruning 101. You do not remove all interior branches as they may be needed to take a damaged branch back to. They did a lot of cutting with a pole pruner leaving stubs. So not only did I not have the weight reduced on the branches, but they increased the possibility of future damage by their uneducated methods.
I also needed the skirt of an oak taken up and off utility wires. Because the crew didn’t know which oak, they worked on the wrong one. They did the same interior pruning on the oak and also reduced the screening I had from my neighbor’s driveway.
When they left, I noticed a large oil spill about 18″ in diameter in the driveway.
I called and Adolpho came out to look at the work. I explained my disatisfaction with the job and we agreed on a date that someone would come out and try to correct some of the issues with the tree. He would also send the crew out with a pressure washer to try to remove the oil.
Guess what? They came on the wrong day again. I wasn’t here and they tried to clean up the oil. They used a pressure washer with a fine nozzle instead of a fan. My driveway is now etched with squiggley lines.
I should say that Adopho was very nice throughout all the mistakes. He was a gentleman and returned the money for the one tree. They did an adequate job (not great cuts, but not awful) on the big oak. Adolpho said they had a lot of work coming up working for PG&E. I would say that’s in line with the quality of work that they do. Adolpho seems to know a lot about pruning trees. It’s a shame that his crews have not been properly trained and are so arrogant in their ignorance.
A friend, who is the leading consulting arborist in the state came over the other day and shook his head in disgust when he looked at the trees.
By the way, I have a degree in horticulture and used to have a pruning business. I am told this company has changed hands in recent years. I do not recommend them.

After searching the internet for dumpster rentals I called Community Tree. Samantha was friendly and informative about their prices & sizes. They delivered the dumpster next day without any issues –I was not even at the property. I called them to pick up earlier than the allotted week and they promptly picked up the following day. Great price compared to other places I had called and great customer service! I highly recommend and will suggest them to my clients who are planning remodels or renovations!

I found this tree service to be highly professional from every aspect. My calls were answered promptly, appointment for a quote was right on time, the date for the work was timely, the price was lower than the competition, and the actual work done was highly professional, including clean upl.
I had a very large, old pine tree trimmed in Pacific Grove. A crew of 4 showed up exactly on time with 2 large trucks. One person climbed the tree, and one worked from a bucket crane, while 2 others supported from the ground, chipping and guiding large limbs to minimize damage. They were done by 3pm.

We had Community Tree prune our diseased pear trees. They did a great job (we couldn’t see a single diseased leaf afterwards), cleaned up completely, and were professional throughout. I’ve seen the big tree services do the same job for more money and leave lots of diseased areas. We really liked them and their work and would recommend them without hesitation.

Very professional in every way. The estimate was rescheduled, but they were prompt on calling me to let me know they had a conflict. That was fine since they should on time for weh the rescheduled. The work that was done was great. We are very happy how they worked with us and gave us professional advise.

My entire experience with Community Tree was extremely positive. They came out and gave me a free estimate which was very fairly priced. They arrived promptly at the agreed upon time the following week. The tree work was excellent and the clean up was outstanding. Everyone I dealt with from the estimator, Adolfo, to the Crew were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely call them again.

Very good experience! Called them on Thursday, got the bid on Friday and job done on Tuesday. Very good communication. They arrived on time, did a very good job using all kinds of professional equipment and left the site very clean. The price was good too. I will definitely call them again because I have some more trees to work on.

We had trees falling down on my and neighbor’s property recently. Community tree service help to get all cut and cleaned with amazing speed and high quality. They did professional and high quality job at fair price. Strongly recommend them.

Community Tree Service took a huge pine tree out of our backyard and did a great job. They were professional, cleaned up the mess and were in/​out with no problems. The owner knows what he is talking about and the workers were very nice. The office staff is also on top of things. No surprises, just good work at a fair price.

Based on prior reviews, I called and was so impressed that I didn’t look further. Pete was prompt, friendly and helpful while giving me his estimate for trimming several of our coastal live oak trees on our small homesite, some of which were overhanging electrical wires and our roof.
He and his crew of four men showed up right on time the next day and did a fantastic job, both in their tree work and in their cleaning up. All are very hard working gentlemen and did a super job for a very fair price. I will not hesitate to call them for any tree work we need and really owe them a big thanks for a job that exceeded our expectations. Try them… you’ll be very pleased. We sure are!

We had to have 7 trees taken down in our backyard, and having just moved to SC, we didn’t know about the permit system or anything. We got three bids and this company not only came in the lowest, they also demonstrated the most knowledge about the situation and didn’t try any funny business. I may be a woman, but I am trained as a forester and know my trees– the other two estimators tried to tell me what some of our trees were and were wrong.
The owner not only gave us the best estimate, he got it even lower by talking two of our neighbors into having work done the same day, so the company could work more efficiently. They completed the job in one day, ground all of our stumps down (and even some old ones), removed all of the debris, and didn’t damage anything in the process. I was very pleased with the work, would recommend this company to anyone.
