History

Established in 1996.

I established Sunburst Construction with an emphasis on building affordable additions for working class folks in the San Lorenzo Valley. What’s evolved over the years is a joy in collaborating with homeowners in designing and remodeling their homes, creating additions, kitchens, bathrooms and decks that are unique and affordable. I’m well versed in drawing and submitting plans, working with the building deptartment to rectify red-​tags, termite reports, and all phases of construction, start to finish in the greater Santa Cruz area including Aptos, Boulder Creek, Felton, Scotts Valley, Larkin Valley, Watsonville, and more.

I’ve been learning carpentry since I was 15 when I spent a summer in South Shore Tahoe helping to build a house. In high school I spent half my junior and senior year in a vocational school learning to build cabinets and custom playhouses.

For over 18 years I focused on framing carpentery, building custom homes over the hill in Los Gatos, Saratoga, etc.

Since being a contractor, I’ve never been able to leave the framing,(or any of the woodworking), to anyone but myself, and I take absolute joy in being a working contractor, using my hands to create beauty and to stay healthy!

I see a General Contractor as being the conductor of a orchestra: the phases of construction and subcontractors are the movements of the symphony. My job is to keep the harmony flowing, thereby creating a thing of beauty to the delight and satisfaction of the client… the homeowner.
