History

Established in 1947.

Signal Financial Federal Credit Union was formerly Washington Telephone Federal Credit Union (WTFCU). On April 12, 2007 became Signal Financial to reflect the changing times.

We have grown and changed to keep pace with the ever-​changing financial needs of our membership. In addition to our telephone company groups, Signal Financial now serves more than 150 small to medium-​sized businesses as well as individuals who live, work, worship or attend school in DC or in Prince George’s County, MD (inside the beltway). Certain family members and businesses (including their employees) are also eligible to join the credit union.
