Quest Diagnostics

I am not one to give poor reviews, but unfortunately did not have a good experience with this location. As others have noted, if you want great customer service go somewhere else. They are about as friendly as a box of rocks. I made sure to put pressure on the site once she was completed because I did not want to bruise. However, the complete opposite happened. A week later I still have a nasty bruise measuring about 5 inches by 2 inches, green/​blue/​purple, and slight tenderness still. My nurse friends have said it appears she blew my vein. Calls to report it have not been successful. I have been told there are no managers or supervisors at that location??? If you can go to another lab I suggest labcorp. They have always been gentle with no issues.

I am new to having my lab work completed outside of my physician’s office, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The less-​than-​complimentary reviews of most Quest locations in the area had me feeling skeptical…
I’m so glad to have randomly chosen this location! Keshia was awesome. She helped me sign in and complete the brief paperwork, and she also drew my blood. She was welcoming, friendly, and maintained a sense of humor with me as I looked away while she drew my blood. She was quick, but thoroughly checked vials and paperwork for accuracy. She also encouraged me to take my time gathering my items when it was time to leave.
I will be back to this location for my future lab work, and I certainly hope to have the type of experience I did this week.

I have been here multiple times, so, this is not a one-​time experience. The staff is not at the front desk to greet you. When they appear they still don’t greet you. Furthermore, there are no smiles, no «thank you», no «please»; they are just not welcoming. They rarely pick-​up the phone, and never return phone calls. In summary, great location, and bad customer service.

If you need to have any diagnostics, I highly suggest Quest Lab located on K Street, a 10++ experience.
The reception greeted me warmly and professionally.
The Pholbotomist was super friendly and «soft-​handed», I never felt a pinch!
Over all experience: 5 star.

I’m already afraid of needles, so the reviews here did not help my fear. I made an 11:00 appointment, arrived at 10:50, and was in a room at exactly 11:00. Keshia came in and immediately made me comfortable. I told her I was afraid of needles so she started telling me stories and it completely relaxed me. She was fantastic. You will be in good hands with her. I was out the door and on my way at 11:15.

Ugh. This place is dirty is just all-​around sketchy. The room where my blood was drawn didn’t seem too sterile.
The biggest drawback for me was that the office staff (both nurse and receptionist) were very rude and abrasive.

Even after making an appointment, I had to wait 30 minutes past my time to be seen. The labs techs were grumpy, and when I suggested they call my doctor because they were confused by a test, one said it «wasn’t her job to double check test orders.» Really? Even after confirming with my doctor what they needed, they did the wrong tests and I had to go back anyway. A waste of time. Try another location if you can.

In my experience Quest does not hire people for their customer service skills, and Tanya (sp?) is no exception.
I walk into the the office to no acknowledgement– no eye contact, no smile, no hello, no nod. She takes two calls before I gesture that I have a form and a cup and she gestures back that I should sign in. She takes two more calls and I sit down, tired of standing around like a sick idiot. She then twice tells me in an incomplete sentence that she needs to get my paperwork. I sit there like a sick idiot waiting for her to get my paperwork until I realize she meant she needs to get it from _​me_​. Wouldn’t it be easier to just say a full sentence like «please give me your form»? She then communicates in piecemeal directions that I need to go label my cup in the out-​of-​order bathroom and leave the cup in the out-​of-​order bathroom. She doesn’t really ever make eye contact or use complete sentences. I am pretty sure English _​is_​her first language.
It’s not like I feel at my best walking into a laboratory carrying my own specimen cup, it’d be great to feel a bit human. At least acknowledged. Better for business to ignore the bird in the hand– the two on the phone might yet fly away, I guess.
It’s unfortunate I’m in such a bad mood such that Quest gets the short end of the reviewing stick today, but the moment I heard I had to go to a Quest I groaned, so it’s just a long history of disappointment. I’ll give them a second star for a convenient location.
I’m not sure why I’m reviewing this anyway, it’s not like you have much of a choice in laboratories.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE! The lab tech yelled at me and made me cry when I was just asking her a simple question. There is no such thing as costumer service at this place. Especially when you’re going in for something as nerve racking as blood work! DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. HORRIBLE! I’ve never encountered such rude people in my whole life.

My experience today was rather unfortunate. The office was easy enough to find, but once I stepped into the tiny office I was met with a very brisk «Hello.» I signed-​in, and then stood there while the woman ignored me for two minutes. She finally said: «You can sit down.»
I sat down and waited. She left the room, another woman came out, didn’t acknowledge me or the other gentleman in the room, and also left. About ten minutes later the woman came back and called me up. I provided my information, which was recorded incorrectly.
The woman then told me to go sit in room number three. I waited in the room, and was taken aback by the visible dirt on the furniture and walls. To my surprise the woman who registered me also came back to draw my blood. She told me to «sit down here,» and then said «roll up your sleeve.» She took my blood, labeled the vials, said you’re done and left the room.
I slipped and fell on the floor in the hallway, and when I told the woman there was something on it, she said: «No, you just fell» in a nasty tone.
It was very clear from the beginning that this woman not only does not like her job, but she treated the patients like they were a burden. She had no interest in creating a friendly atmosphere. I will not be returning to this facility, and I will be posting my experience on Unilocal and other DC community sites.
