Just picked up another beautifully framed painting from PFF. Everything in my house has been framed here. The work is superb, done on time, and the price is reasonable. We have been using the Picture Frame Factory for years now for framing jobs and we just keep going back because the quality is great, the timing is good, and we like the options. Yes, it is a touch expensive — but isn’t all framing? And frankly, we have found at the end of the day that the prices quoted are fair and for the quality job being done it is well worth the investment. We also have really come to like the guy and also appreciate his advice on different framing options.
Over the course of the last three years we have had at least 10 pieces framed there — a variety of jobs — and I have never had a complaint.
All in — this is a fantastic spot and can’t recommend it enough.

Dropped a frame while redecorating, and was heart broken when the glass completely shattered. The next morning I walk in, describe what I need, and the guy measured my frame and cut a new piece of glass before I could even take a look around the shop. He pointed out that it would be cheaper if I put it in the glass myself, made sure it fit before taking my payment, and before leaving he told me to clean the glass when I got home to make it look its best. (He saw fingerprints on the glass, and it was clear that presentation really mattered to him. A true artisan.) Fantastic experience. Outstanding service.

I have framed three prints here. Each time, I have been very impressed with the work product. The customer service is great. The owner has a great eye and makes very helpful suggestions on design. All of my orders were completed within one week, as promised.

This is the best framing shop in Northwest DC. At least in the Dupont, Adams Morgan, Logan area. I got lured into a few other framing shops by some daily deal discount emails, but as always, you pay for what you get. In the case of the Picture Frame Factory, I paid a fair price and got Excellent quality craftsmanship and customer service.
The element of service that left me the happiest was that they help ME choose what frame works best for my picture. I don’t exactly have the best eye for design, but I also don’t just want to be sold a frame. The owner here really helped me through the selection process (patiently) and left me excited about my selection. Couldn’t be happier!

I am an architect and interior designer in Maryland. I have been using Picture frame factory of Adams Morgan since 2002.
This is the number one best frame shop in town. I have nothing but commendation for the work done here. The owner is a true artist, and a master at his work. He works with you and knows exactly what colors, frames and matting to use to bring out the accents in any artwork that I have taken for him. Having so many years of hands on experience he has perfected the art.
The double matts, the fillets, the stretching and beveling are perfectly done. The details, the workmanship and especially the individual care he puts in each of his work, is a unique and precious art. This is what custom work is all about. There is no one else in this town like him.
I cannot recommend a better place to frame precious art. He has the widest selection of up to date classical and modern frames and his craftsmanship and skills are exceptional. It’s the perfect place to go when I need to do an impeccable job for my clients. The work done here is priceless!

If I could give them 10 stars I would! The customer service here is without a doubt the best I have experienced anywhere. This is actually my second review of the store, as my husband and I were thrilled with the items we had framed here 2 years ago. Since then, we’ve moved to downtown silver spring but were so happy with their original work and the prices are so great, we went back and had another piece framed. The owner and his wife were incredibly sweet and matched our frame to the one we did two years prior.
When we picked up the frame today and brought it home, we saw that they accidentally left the backing off. When I called to let them know, they were so apologetic and knew we had moved further away and that I am overdue with our first child. The wife immediately drove to our house to pick up the frame, took it back to the store to finish the back, and returned it within a few hours. Talk about customer service! There is no doubt in my mind that this is the only place we will bring our pictures and posters to be framed in the future!

I had a beautiful painting handed down to me recently, but the frame was in really bad shape. I checked at some big box stores but it was quickly obvious that the frames I found there would be a disservice to my family heirloom. I remembered the Picture Frame Factory since I had visited a few years back and had a good experience. I stopped by a few Saturdays ago to do some browsing, but ended up learning a lot about the art of framing! The owner actually remembered me! He was so helpful and nice and he showed me a lot of options for frames that would complement the color and style of the painting. Truly a master at his craft. After much internal debate, we decided on a frame that I couldn’t be happier with. It sets the painting off beautifully and I’ve received many compliments from my family about what a big improvement the current frame is from the old one. I wish that all customer service was this good– knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Two thumbs up!

They seem very nice. But when I went in to have a pretty basic wood frame matched (I have a new print in a series) and they didn’t have it, that was that. No calls to vendors, no promises to check their suppliers, I was just out of luck. Today, with so much available online, relying on your office stock seems pretty old-​fashioned. I’m sure they’re nice, and great at framing posters, but DC needs a gallery-​ready framer.

We spent $ 700 getting four items framed — one large, two medium, and one small. When I got back home with the pieces, I really wasn’t happy with two of them, and felt there had been a misunderstanding between what I wanted and what had been done. I took the two pieces back and he said he would redo them — at no charge. While I was frustrated about the whole situation, he really kept his calm and was very nice about it. When I went to pick up the two new frames today, both him and his wife (I assume?), were once again extremely nice. I am very satisfied with the end result. While I was not initally happy with my order, this level of customer service and professionalism demands five stars. Thanks very much!

OK so I debated between 4 or 5 stars because the pricing is a bit high, a big however, I don’t know anything about framing so that can be relative and I will say the customer service is impeccable. My GF dropped off something to get framed here months ago and she bit off just a little more than she could chew price wise and was afraid to return for pickup. I returned in her stead and the guy was muy patiente (that’s espanol for you) and gave us a deal not only on the pic we were getting framed but also on a second I brought in. Those who believe this place is inexpensive have NO idea how much money they could be saving. For years I lived a block away from PFF and thought it was reasonably priced and good quality. I brought more than a dozen items here for custom framing.
A few months ago, I had a very large batch of custom framing, and the proprietor of PFF quoted a price. It was about $ 2k in total. It seemed reasonable for the quantity, but I decided to check around outside central Washington to see how much I might save. I called a place in Wheaton and a place in Bethesda.
It was not easy for me to try a new place. I feared that I would waste my time trekking out to a place with only tacky materials and shoddy workmanship. But I ended up opting for the Wheaton place, and saved between ½ and ¹⁄₃ the cost quoted at PFF! The quality was at least as good, and the available materials were just as good, with many of the identical options.
The proprietor of the new place is very likable — not at all arrogant. And he completed the work within one week, versus the 2 – 3 weeks typical at PFF.
I know many people lack the time or transportation to go to Wheaton or elsewhere outside the city, but consider that you will probably save least ¹⁄₃ over what PFF will charge you. I wish I knew this years ago.

Update about the the framing job I reviewed last summer: the frames began to crack and split just while hanging on my bedroom wall. I hated having to call the framer and dreaded how he might respond. Well, the results could not have been better. He was horrified that the frames were defective and promised to remedy the situation. He contacted the manufacturer and found out this was a problem they’d discovered with that particular frame. He suggested an alternative frame that we both actually liked better and was higher quality and more expensive, and he reframed all four pictures at no cost to me.
I’m delighted with his work, his customer service, and most of all, his character. He has my highest possible recommendation.

Dis dude knows his stuff. He do quality work and is nice. He got a lotta frames and mats to choice from. I gets all mine’s done here. He let you pick and choose what you want but has nice suggestions. Quality & service like dis is rare in dis city.

Until I came here, I did not understand why people were willing to pay so much money for custom framing. The proprietor here has a fantastic eye for colors, is very friendly, and happy to break the pricing scheme down for you and give you advice about where to skimp (which pictures will still look good in one of his cheapest black frames, and which ones won’t) if you are trying to custom-​frame while saving money.
There’s no denying that it’s quite expensive, but for the good stuff, man is it worth it. («Oh, come, art cannot hurt. It can, and how!»)
