Salon de Couture

I have curly hair, and finding a good salon that won’t make me look like a poodle is tough. Effie is incredibly sweet, listened to everything I wanted and I am so happy with the end result. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 is because I had to wait a half hour for her to get there– I was the first appointment. But it was completely worth it!

Effe did highlights for me a couple of weeks ago and I LOVE the color! I just wanted to add warmth to my hair color and she totally understood what I meant.
I have had Damian cut and style my hair in the past and have been very happy with the result. now I have to say I am very happy with Effe’s color as well.
They are a very professional and talented couple. I would strongly recommend this salon to anybody who wants to be more than happy with the result.

I followed Jennifer Ausherman here from another salon. She’s awesome. I’ve been going to her for three years now and I’ve always been thrilled with my haircuts and color (which never fades at all!), and — I know this will sound phony — get complimented on my hair pretty regularly. And believe me, it’s the haircuts, because I’m no genius with the blowdryer/​styling. Jennifer is great (and patient) at listening to your ideas and coming up with feedback of her own.
From what I understand the salon itself moved here from down the street pretty recently. The location is great, right in the middle of Adams Morgan across from Bourbon and downstairs from Smash. The vibe is a little punked out (in a fun way) but don’t be intimidated if you’re just looking for a trim or highlights, everyone’s really nice and the music they were playing is great.
