Replaced a broken side mirror. Was able to fix it same day and did a great job. Would go back.

Cannot speak highly enough about Jerry’s — and specifically Body & Paint manager Jim. Brought in our SUV with bad back bumper dent and shattered taillight. Jerry’s was our second stop after a first body shop upped the price and time for the repair. For much less (talking hundreds here, not thousands), the did an impeccable job restoring it (and found a used but excellent taillight to cut costs). They also turned it around in one day as promised (in fact only took a few hours).
I am big fan of local businesses with good customer service. I got both here. Just nice people who work hard and charge a fair amount. Jim was excellent.
They are very humble, even saying they didn’t think they could do it perfectly but sure enough it came out great. I hope not to be back, but should I ding the car again, they can count on a repeat customer.

They do great work at Jerry’s! I have taken my broken down Buick here more than once and Jim always makes her better than before! He is a genuinely nice person, very professional and reasonably priced.

Our car was hit while parked and we took it to Jerrys and a dealer-​recommended place for quotes. Jerry’s was 25% cheaper, and did a very nice and quick job of fixing it. Unfortunately, the car was hit — again while parked! — outside of the shop before we could pick it up. Thankfully Jerry’s staff saw the incident, produced a quote on the spot and got the responsible party to pay, and then fixed it again quickly. The second incident was not their fault, and they did everything well, so would definitely recommend them.

I’m a big fan of Jerry’s, for a bunch of reasons:
1. They do a great job
2. They do the work fast
3. They are funny
4. They are local.
Have had them do 2 repairs that resulted from being hit, and for which insurance paid. The repair work was excellent, but I don’t have a lot of information on relative prices, cause I just paid my deductible. However… I somehow broke the lid of the compartment between the two front passenger seats. It was so annoying I decided I had to either have it fixed or get a new car… hm…ok, new car was not really an option so I took my baby into Jerry’s. Not only did he fix it, but he also fixed the rear lighter thingie that had fallen apart., and didn’t charge extra for it. I don’t smoke, but I really appreciate having the extra charger outlet working again. Total cost came in at a very reasonable price and I didn’t have to face car payments!

You wake up on a Monday and you’re ready to start your week. However, whatever plan you had in mind comes to a screeching halt when you find out your car was a victim of vandalism in the form of a smashed rear passenger side window. It totally sucks. You call your insurance only to find your deductible is too high to make a difference and that the best they can help you with is a shop that will fix things on Wednesday.
At that point I was referred to Jerry’s Custom Automotive and a call was placed. Once on the phone with them they told me that they could’t promise same day service but they could try their best. After some duct tape and a trash bag to cover the window, I went to Jerry’s in SE and dropped off my car. Jim, the lead guy there, told me he’d get me a quote asap. After having a crappy morning, I decided to walk from Jerry’s the few blocks to McDonald’s for breakfast, after which I was walking to Potomac metro (only 2 blocks away from Jerry’s!) where Jim called me with a quote. The original quote was for $ 300, but unfortunately they couldn’t locate a piece of glass from a 3^rd party manufacturer, so it was going to be $ 400. (396 to be exact). Additionally, he told me he could have it done by that afternoon.
I told him to go ahead with the work and they were able to take care of it. I reached out to them at 5 pm to see if it was done and it was. While they usually close at 5:30 they told me they would wait/​stay open for me until I got there.
Went and picked up my car with a new passenger side back door window, and all of the broken glass was cleaned up out of my car as well. They even did some vacuuming in areas that there probably wasn’t even any glass.
Instead of having the crappy event loom over my head, it was awesome to be able to call up Jerry’s that morning and have it fixed by that afternoon. Jim was great in terms of explaining to me the situation when it came to fixing it and the price. The turnaround of the job itself was great because I didn’t really have time this week to deal with this.
I’ll definitely go back if I need any more work to my vehicle done, hopefully I won’t though.

I am glad I stayed away from this place.
Disclosure: I did not end up using Jerry’s for my car repairs; I only got quotes from them. So I am writing this review based on the quotes they gave me – which were exorbitant. I
was somewhat floored when I went to another body shop and realized how high — indeed, suspiciously high — Jerry’s quotes were. As a point of comparison between Jerry’s and the other body shop that I ended up using:
For a rear taillight, Jerry’s quoted me $ 170. The other guys did it for $ 50.
For a dented door, Jerry’s quoted me $ 1,508. The other guys did it $ 275.
Maybe Jerry’s does incredible, car-​renewing work. I don’t know. I do know that after taking my car to another place for a second appraisal and quote, I felt that Jerry’s was trying to screw me over. And when dealing with mechanics and body shops, it’s important to me that I feel I can trust the people. Add that to the fact that they were less than friendly, start to finish, and I am glad I did not waste my money.

Gave me one estimate, then worked on another to get a lower price. He called a local yard to give us a quote. Honest and very helpful.

Jerry’s was great. Fixed my front bumper and repainted in five days. Responsive and didn’t hesitate to get in touch with my insurance company. Car looks great. No hassle at all.

Jim is the man, helped me out of a jam for a lot less money than they could have charged. Honest, efficient and high quality service. What more do you want?

I was very pleased by my service at Jerry’s, all thanks to Jim. I had dents on both sides of my front bumper, including a significant indentation on one side and accumulated paint on the other. I wish I had taken a before photo because the results are remarkable — the bumper is like new, with only one small indentation remaining. His quote of $ 240 was so reasonable that I didn’t even bother with a second quote. In addition, Jim very kindly offered to stay a little late for my drop off and pick up since I was coming from work in NoVa. I haven’t written a Unilocal review in a little while, but definitely though Jim’s great work and flexibility was worth a shout out!

So friendly and did a great job. My car was in an accident and when I called Jim wanted to make sure that the insurance would cover it before I brought my car down instead of just going on with the repair not caring. My roommate brought her car here and also had a great experience.

First — let me say that Jerry’s didn’t even actually do any auto work for me. But, I still found them to be open, honest and super accommodating, which is admirable in the auto repair game.
I had to make the tough decision whether or not to pay out of pocket to fix my banged up 1998 BMW 328i. Jim at Jerry’s had a great attitude and was really friendly in not only walking me through his rough estimate, but also in helping me to really think about what the right decision was for me to make — regardless of whether or not it meant business for him. I mean, he could’ve basically told me to piss off if I wasn’t going to give him business, but instead he helped me make the smart decision — even calling another auto repair shop to get their opinion on the matter. He also offered to let me keep my banged up car at the shop overnight while I decided whether to junk it or fix it.
So — I can’t speak to their quality of work but I can speak to my experience there, and it was a positive one and Jim certainly seemed on the up and up and was friendly and helpful.

Fast, flexible, and friendly. They got my car back to me in the same day, and let me drop off my car a few minutes before opening and pick it up a few minutes after closing. I just needed a minor repair, but I needed a different minor repair last year, and that different body shop kept my car for 3 days. Jim had me in and out in a day. Jim was very easy to work with. And they have a couple cute office cats. My repair was a liability claim, so insurance covered 100%, but I thought the quoted amount was surprisingly reasonable. I hope I don’t need to use this place again, but if I do need some body work in the future, I’ll go here.

Based on these reviews, I would have liked to give this place my business. I called up to see if it would be possible to fix a big, horizontal crack in my car’s back bumper – someone must have tapped my car pretty hard and drove away. The man on the phone said they weren’t interested in that kind of work because if they patched it and someone hit me again, it would crack again and I WOULD COME BACK AND ASK FOR IT TO BE FIXED FOR FREE and they just weren’t going to do that.
Um.
If someone hits my car’s bumper like that again, of course it will crack. That’s what happens when a car hits another car hard enough. Why would I ask for it to be fixed for free if it happened again?

It’s hard to get excited about a body shop, but Jerry’s is as good as it gets. We dropped our car off on a Monday — it took a few days longer than expected (mainly because he had to file a supplemental claim with our insurance agency, and our insurance agent had to come out to his shop to look at the car again) — but the work was great (and reasonably priced), the communication was excellent (the office manager called at every step of the way to let us know what was going on), and Jim is super friendly. My only piece of advice would be to call and make an appointment — Jerry’s tends to be a busy place — we took it by Jerry’s and he said he couldn’t do the work for a week, so we ended up keeping our car for a week and then bringing it back. Calling first would have saved us a trip to Capitol Hill.

Brought my Chevy Cavalier here to get my bumper and headlight fixed after a stupid fender bender many months ago. Jim did a great job of making the bumper look good again and replaced the headlight fixtures. Quick work, well done and affordable. Will definitely be coming back!

Sorry for the delay Jim… About 2 months ago I was in an accident with my girlfriend’s car, 2000 Honda Accord EX Coupe. Most of the damage was in the front, but took it one step further. I found Jim through Unilocal,but later I found out he was an approved body shop with my insurance company. Jim and his crew were on top of every detail so that when I was ready to drop off the car, everything went smooth. He gave me a fare initial estimate for the insurance company and the final bill was only a few dollars over which was very reasonable. The car was ready on time and the workmanship was great. You would never know the car was in an accident. I would totally recommend Jim and crew to anyone; he’s not going to over charge like some others out there.

I bumped into a car at a stop light in my ’04 Acura TL. With the swoop down front end, the whole front bumper just dislodged and broke off a few bolts. It looked awful!
Knowing that this will be a very costly replacement if I claim it, I took it to Jerry’s to see if he could fix it well enough without getting a whole new front end. He knew my predicament, and said they would do their best.
I picked it up at the end of the day, and it was 99% as good as new — for a FRACTION of the price of a new replacement.
I was very impressed. Jim was great to work with. It’s obvious they take great pride in their work.
Let’s just hope my insurance company is happy not having me file a claim.

Jim has taken care of me twice with two different cars, and both times his work has been speedy and flawless.
Visit #1: I was trying to save some money replacing a side mirror on my 2000 Civic, so I bought the necessary parts on my own before showing up at Jerry’s for the installation. Jim had wrapped everything up in about 2 hours, including flawless installation and even some extensive buffing of some scratches on the door. It looked better than when I had bought it a year earlier.
Visit #2: I was getting work done on my 2006 Subaru after a truck had hit it while parked. Jim gave me a solid estimate, which I passed on to the insurance company. He then communicated with them to agree to complete the work (replace tail light, fix big dent & scratches on rear quarter) for that price. The work, which took about 4 days, was phenomenal. He had molded the body back to its unique shape and matched the paint perfectly. The work truly could not have been done any better.
Communication with their administrator is also easy and detailed. Although I now live just several blocks from Jerry’s, I was originally traveling from across the city to get here, and I would go even further for this service.
Just make sure you don’t let the cat out of the office when you’re stopping by!
