We’ve been ordering Chinese food delivered from Fortune Express since 1995. They’re quick and friendly. It became a habit for us that whenever we had a project going on – home renovation — we’d call up Fortune Express to bring us food. Since we didn’t have a menu the first time we called we asked for recommendations. They said«Fortune Express Chicken» and we said«sure» and discovered something really good. In the early days(ok, 10 years! of occasional home renovation projects) it was the owner who would sometimes do the deliveries and we really enjoyed chatting about our latest project as he arrived. Fortune Express is still a great place to get Chinese food delivered to your home and if you don’t know what you want – ask for a recommendation or what’s «special» today. Quick, friendly, inexpensive, large servings and consistent quality. Favorites? Fortune Express Chicken(not on the menu, ask for it), Szechuan Green Beans.

A bit disappointed in todays order. The food was accurate and quickly delivered however some of my items had either a weird smell, appearance or taste. I’m not sure how good this place is on the regular but today did not go well. I’m not too sure how you could miss up these simple items but buyer think twice! B-Egg drop soup, okay C– Vegetable fried rice, weird smell & overcooked vegetables C+ Plain fried rice, wird smell & appeared as it was burnt

I’ve only ordered delivery, but when I did(using EAT24) it gave me an estimated time of 45 minutes. After about an hour I called and the woman on the phone was really rude, «did you order online? IT’S ONITSWAY!» and then she hung up on me. After an hour and a half, the driver calls me and makes me come out to his car to get the food. The food was meh and service was bad, so won’t be using them again.

Horrible service and terrible food let me tell you about my most recent experience. The lady who answers the phone answers saying, «what you want?» That’s not the way you answer so I hung up and decided to order off of PayPal. Then I ordered but something went wrong and also ordered an old order so I called into eat24 immediately and canceled one. 30 mins later I hear a ringing on the doorbell like it was someone who lived there! It was the delivery guy. Before I could even sign for my food I hear the man saying«tip! tip!» I was giving him one but you do not ask for a tip that’s rude and unprofessional it only makes his business look even worst. Two hours go by and I hear another ring on my doorbell it’s the delivery man again and he’s trying to hand me another bag of food. I tell him o didn’t order again and he says yes and says the order I tell him I canceled that order over two hours ago and I’m not taking it then he stays there trying to get me to take it saying I can have it for dinner and I’m telling him I don’t want another bag of food when I didn’t even eat the first stuff he brought me. He then told me that his boss wouldn’t be taking my orders anymore which doesn’t matter to me because I wasn’t going to be placing anymore.

Chinese takeout is very difficult to gauge, you want quality but at the same time you can’t be too picky because… it’s chinese takeout. I’ve been ordering from Fortune Express for almost a year now and there’s been only one time I didn’t enjoy my food(it was lukewarm and not that fresh), but to give them the benefit of the doubt it was during rush hour and I should have known better. What i’ve order from them so far: — chicken wings and french fries — general tsos chicken in the medium and spicy — orange chicken in the medium — chicken and broccoli — beef and broccoli — singapore fried rice — egg rolls and spring rolls — steak and cheese sub — shrimp and broccoli — combination lo mein — sesame chicken — lemonade/iced tea mixed As noted, I’ve tried a lot of their items because that’s how comfortable I am in their quality. Those who I’ve served Fortune Express, and the meals i’ve eaten myself, have always been of filling portion with fully cooked meat and taste. I have yet to have a problem with their delivery service. The deals are nice as well. I must reiterate, it’s takeout. I don’t expect fine class dining. But they are organized, customer-oriented, and I prefer them over any other Chinese takeout I’ve tried.

Food is just ok, service is terrible. Fried dumplings were doughy, though the filling is tasty. Other items were just way too sweet and greasy, even for«Americanized» Chinese food. The oddest thing was that we ordered Chow Mein(crispy noodles), which they apparently did not have, so they just sent us vegetables with steamed rice instead(but still charged us for the Chow Mein). When I called to ask, the woman was very rude, yelled at me, then hung up. Though the price is right, the food is mediocre at best and the service is comically bad, so I’ll try another place next time.

STAPLE in dumpling this evening. Alerted the restaurant. Restaurant needs to slow down and focus on quality control.

The food is great. Hot/made to order with Generous portions. Nothing fancy. And slightly on the greasy side but it good quality takeout. The physical restaurant is run down and not a place with sit down dining. Takeout only. And the woman who runs the counter is no nonsense… Not rude but not warm and fuzzy either. I’ve been getting takeout from here for over a year and I’ve never had a bad meal.

Amazing food and fast delivery. I’ve ordered the shrimp and broccoli several times and it is the best I’ve ever had. The hunan shrimp is amazing too if you’re looking for a little spice. The spring rolls and steamed dumplings are also great. Highly, highly recommend this place!

Giving Fortune Express one last shot — we’ve ordered here before and it’s always been a mixed experience. On the one hand, the woman who answers the phone is not friendly or helpful and seems eager to get off the phone regardless if whether I’m finished ordering or paying with a card vs. cash. Alternatively, I love their General Tso’s chicken and the egg rolls always taste fresh and crunchy. I ordered some new items tonight — spicy chicken lo mein and egg drop soup so we’ll see how that goes but I’m posting this rating pre-taste because regardless of how good the lo mein is the service, and my past experiences, warrant Fortune Express 3⁄5 stars.

Ordered my food online and delivery was pretty fast. That was the only highlight of this place. When the driver arrived, Lee, the first and only thing out his mouth while he approached my door was«Cash Tip». I don’t know if he was going to hold my food hostage or not if I didn’t address his tip seeing how he wouldn’t hand me my food until I told him he was getting a tip. Smh I ordered the Lemon Chicken. The chicken was a soggy lightly fried piece of meat on lettuce. The sauce was actually ok. I also ordered the Half Smoke Sub which literally tasted like dirt. This is not an exaggeration it tasted like dirt on top of the fact it looked like a pale hotdog like mystery meat in sausage casing. I threw it all away as to prevent the likely food poisoning I probably was get if I ingested whatever that was that Lee delivered. Eat here at your own risk.

I’m baffled that this place received more than 3 stars. Every dish I tried here has been … awkward. Let me explain, you don’t order Chinese delivery from this place unless you are really hungry, really lazy/sick, in other words, you know this is a «last resort» place. So you call, or Seamless it, ordered, and they deliver fast and they are very nice people. But when you dig in, you find it taste awful. This is your last resort, and you don’t want to starve yourself. So you have just enough to keep you fed, and throw the rest out because any more would just make you throw up… That about sums up the place.

OMG… so good. This place is in the neighborhood and I have passed by it a million times thinking«no way would I ever order there». Tonight I am craving Chinese, and give it a shot based on Unilocal reviews. So glad I did! Steamed vegetable dumplings were great, and Hunan Chicken arrived hot(think steam coming off it) and amazingly tasty. Crisp fresh vegetables were a welcome bonus. This is my new neighborhood go-to place for Chinese food

Had delivery once — now have rash on my arms and feet from eating the food. Normally don’t react to Chinese food like this — not ordering from them again!

The service was pretty great. Fast and super friendly delivery guy, so I loved that. Other than that, the food was pretty… meh. I ordered the General Tso’s tofu and veggie fried rice. Rice was actually pretty good, but the run of the mill fried rice you find anywhere. The tofu was the problem. It wasn’t cooked correctly and the sauce had no flavor. I was really disappointed in that. So maybe they have better food than the tofu, but what I had definitely wasn’t good.

Ordered their crispy seasame chicken dinner and it was delicious. Crispy and tender, with a delicious sweet sauce that was almost spicy. The cashier was super friendly — a welcomed change… oh the long lost art of quality customer service. They did however, mess up my order. They gave me a soup rather than the crab wontons I ordered. Later that night, I checked my phone and I had four missed calls… they had tried to deliver my crab wontons and were extremely apologetic. Seriously? All these other carry outs wouldn’t have gone through all that trouble. +1 star. Good(carryout) food, excellent service and super cheap. Definitely a fan! Ps. like that other Unilocaler said, don’t expect authentic Chinese food, but for carryout food, this is a local treasure.

I don’t know if it is something about me, because everyone seems to like them. The hubsters and I ordered sweet and sour chicken, mandarin chicken, chicken chow mein, and a couple egg rolls. I understand that there are some east coast-west coast differences between what is considered chow mein(and being originally from the WC, our perceptions might be off), but there was not a single noodle, crispy or not, in our chow mein. It was cabbage. A big bowl of cabbage. Both the mandarin chicken and sweet/sour chicken tasted like the sauces came out of a can, and the food was pretty flavorless. The only redeeming factor were the egg rolls, which were crunchy and good, and the delivery guy calling us when he actually got to our apartment, not when he was 15 minutes away. I’ll definitely look somewhere else next time – the chow mein was super disappointing.
