So good and large portions too. I ordered the general Tso’s chicken combination with an extra shrimp egg roll. The food was delicious, filling and tasted really authentic, much better than Panda Express. I will definitely be coming back. Thank God I live nearby.

If I could give this place a negative 5 stars I would. I have never had service as bad as I did last night in my entire life. I called to place an order for delivery which consisted of two Philly steak cheese rolls and sweat and sour chick(sauce on the side) with shrimp friend rice, no pea, no carrots and a shrimp egg roll. My order was read back to me and when I asked how long it would be, they hung up on me. After I received my food, I opened the container and noticed that I had plain fried rice and no egg rolls. I called the restaurant to explain that my order was wrong and was told by the guy who answered«I don’t have time to talk to you, I will call you back». Ten minutes later, no phone call. So I jumped into my car and drove to the restaurant. Once I arrived the guy said I told you I would call you back, I’m busy right now. He proceeded to take another customer’s order who came in after me and when he finally acknowledged me I ask for a manager and he said one was not there. He again walked away from me and begin to ignore me. I at that point, began to speak loudly enough for him to hear me through the glass and explained that my order was wrong and that I need for them to fix it. He grabbed my bag, looked at the receipt, tossed the bag in the garbage and proceeded to give me my money back. I told him that I did not want my money back, that I needed for him to just fix my order correctly, at that point he yelled at me and told me to get out. I was in a state of shock, I really like the food at Dannie’s and have been there several times. This is not the first time they have gotten my order wrong but I still returned as a customer. However after my visit there last night I will never return to this establishment and have warned all of my friends not to return. I have never felt so unfairly treated by anyone. I am a paying customer who has spent hundreds of dollars in this place over the last year and this is how you treat your customers? This is the most tacky, trashy, disrespectful establishment I have ever been in. Please understand you are not the only restaurant in this area and I am sure there are others that would gladly take my money and not be rude about fixing an error. You have just lost one of your best customers and several of her friends. This place is disgusting. You have been warned… DONOT waste your money at this dump.

I have a love/hate relationship Dannie’s. I love the food — definitely the best carry out in Petworth. I hate the staff — they are slow, rude, and not very appreciative of customers. Hint: Their prices on Eat24 and Seamless are slightly cheaper.

Craving Chinese food late at night and saw that this place had pretty decent review. Ordered online and got the sesame chicken and mozzarella sticks. The sesame chicken was alright, definitely did not live up to my expectations. The sauce was flavorful but the chicken was chewy and tasted like something from the frozen food isle. I would rate it a 3⁄5. I would rate the mozzarella sticks a solid 2⁄5. It was fried well, but the cheese inside was still pretty solid and was hard to chew through. Delivery took about 30 – 40 minute, not too bad of a wait. Overall, not a bad place to get chinese food but not the best.

Went here the other day for carry out, shared a sesame chicken with rice and five egg rolls. Egg rolls were solid, thoroughly enjoyed them. Beware, the steam is hot when opening them. Sesame chicken was good, not the best I’ve had but definitely good. Rice was good as well. Overall, a great option for quick and convenient Chinese food.

I ordered online and pre-tipped which I guess was my first mistake. The driver called me before he had even arrived saying that he did not want to find parking. He didn’t even come to the lobby of my building I had to walk to the street. The food was just as disappointing. I ordered the sesame chicken it was chewy and stringy(although the sauce was fine). The beef fried rice tasted and smelled like fish. Almost like they had fried the rice in oil they had used already for cooking seafood. Do yourself a favor. DONOTORDERHERE. There are so many options for take out that are just as cheap.

I have always been wary of places that serve things like subs and pizza along iwth Chinese food. This isn’t gourmet Chinese, but it’s GOOD Americanized Chinese food. Definitely recommend the General Tso’s and the dumplings(steamed). General Tso’s has been fried perfectly the times I have had it. Really a big fan. Decent Chinese food is hard to find in DC. This place is actually good, and the prices are reasonable. It’s a carryout place, and it looks dated and still has the bulletproof glass, but the kitchen area is clean and the food is good and the cost is reasonable and they’re pretty quick(for pick up, never had delivery). Definitely recommend.

Super delicious. I got the lunch special — for $ 6.50, I got a huge portion of sesame chicken, fried rice, and an egg roll. Can’t beat that! The chicken was fried perfectly and had just the right amount of sauce. It’s worth mentioning that they charge 50 cents extra if you use a credit card for a charge less than $ 8, but whatever.

I effing love this place!!! It’s so quick and reliable with deliveries and the food is fantastic! The general tso chicken and the teriyaki beef are must haves. The chicken is unlike anything you’ve ever had. It’s crisp and fried perfectly and the sauce is to die for. It could be a little spicier so be warned if you’re looking for the regular sinus cleansing General. I’ve had a few of their other dishes … I wasn’t disappointed but let’s just say the rest has NOTHING on these two dishes. Plus the portions are plentiful so there’s no need to even get anything else :) Love you Dannie !!

Our search for Chinese delivery has come to an end. We recently moved to the neighborhood and we found Dannie’s. Don’t hesitate or search much further; I’m a pretty picky eater and had a great experience. Great service, delivered hot and fast. We ordered Singapore Noodles, General Tso’s and Hot and Sour Soup. The portions are very generous and the prices can’t be beat. The food was really tasty and I will definitely order again. The hot and sour soup is the best I’ve tasted. My husband, who doesn’t even like mushrooms, like the mushrooms in this soup; that says something! However, next time I’ll order the large as he did eat more of my soup than I had expected to share. :-) The General Tso’s wasn’t greasy, presented well, and the only thing I could say is that it could come with more broccoli — but that is par for the course with all GTC dishes.

Decided to go to Dannie’s carry out for lunch and I ordered a sweet & south pork and when I got home I was very upset because the pork coating was cooked too long and was a very dark brown color almost black. I calked and the women told me that I would have to bring the food back so the manager could see it and I told her that I was on my lunch break and was about 20 minutes away and could not cone back the same day, she then told me to save food and bring it back any day so they can see it. I won’t be going back there again. Who saves food for days and take back to show how gross it looks? SMH I guess it’s always best to look at your food before leaving, I took it as a learning experience and they won’t get anymore of my hard earned government money.

Not usually a fan of Chinese food, but I went in and got some General Tso’s chicken because it was convenient… It turned out to be one of the best I’ve ever had. definitely will stop by again.

We always enjoyed Dannie’s but no more orders since they hired a new person to take orders. The woman will not let you complete you order and she is just rude. I refuse to deal with rude service.

Solid Chinese. Not fancy or amazing, but tasty and fast. Our favorites were the egg rolls and General Tso’s chicken.

Good takeout. We had them deliver General Tso and Sweet and Sour Chicken to the Children’s Hospital where my son is staying. The driver was quick(less than 40 mins). Food was good and hot. The portions size were huge.

Dudeeeeee. $ 4 for gastronomical size 2 fried chicken pieces and french fries. If you eat all of it too fast, be prepared to feel sick, but soooo worth it still.
