It’s Viti’s Bakery and Deli now, but the awning still says Borelli’s and Rosa’s. I walked in and everything looks the same, except the display case was about half empty. I ordered a large Italian with everything on it. The bread is the boss, beautifully full size Italian hard rolls. Unfortunately the meats are strictly portioned and with a roll this size you need more than 3 slices of meats if it’s going to be a proper Italian grinder. I don’t see why they wouldn’t break you out at least what Subway gives you. I might just stop here for the hard rolls. But that grinder was all bread and veg, so I wouldn’t throw down $ 10 for one of those again.

All the food on display looked old and there was flies all over them. You would probably walk out at this point — I did but nowhere else was open because of a recent storm that came through and downed a bunch of trees. So I came back in and ordered the freshest looking items: an eggplant calzone and a glazed raspberry pastry. After taking one bite I could clearly tell the calzone had not been cooked within the last couple days, the eggplant was not crunchy like you’d expect(it was fried but soggy… so it had definitely been sweating at some point and then reheated). The desserts look appealing but they are stale and therefore hard as a rock.

Stopped by looking for Borelli’s Bakery and found there is a new owner– Linda Viti. Pizza strip was delicious, and the cannoli and éclair were perfect – not too sweet and very satisfying. Authentic Italian bakery. Not the largest selection, but a lot of heart. Fresh made bread. Stop by if you’re in Aponaug Village.
