Very bad service. made extra trip to this shop because saleswoman forgot to take security tag off in Christmas, I explained the situation to saleswoman, she said she can’t help me because I don’t have the receipt, until I asked her if she scan the item (so I had to teach her or give her clue how she can be helpful??).she still didn’t want to do anything, later one guy who heard the conversation came and help. they still didn’t apologize for not taking the tag and made me extra trip to the shop… won’t go there again.

Kristi and Michael C are by far the best two management I have seen and had the pleasure I meet. Thy really take the time to talk to me and others to reach our needs and if they don’t carry something to make sure to check other stores for the items before guests run in circles. They’re recommendations are great my posture and pain in my ankles r already better just from starting to put insoles into my shoes. Amazing store because of the people.
Not a whole lot of clothing and sporting good since it is a branch of the bigger stores so people get mad when they can’t find what they need. The store in concord is you better bet if you want a wide option!

I went to this store to buy some weights but they didn’t have any sort of selection when it comes to free weights and not one person tried to help me. A good destination for shoes and over priced clothing but that’s about it.

Went in here to purchase a big sports duffle bag for an upcoming trip. The store was empty of customers with about 3 clerks behind the cash register. Since a lot of their luggage products are randomly distributed in various parts of the store, I asked the clerks if they had the product I was looking for. 2 of the gals looked at my blankly and then 1 finally says, «well, i think we had something like that a while ago.» and just stood there. uh, ok…

One of the better sporting goods stores — the store had a good selection of fitness gear and clothing. And great sales — I was able to buy a bunch of Under Armour exercise clothing on sale! The store is well organized — it wasn’t too difficult to find the items that we needed. Very friendly staff. Although we didn’t have our dog with us, we did notice that the store was dog friendly — a huge St. Bernard was wandering around the store with his owner.

Wtf people?! This is in Walnut Creek, not Lafayette. Wasted soo much time because of Unilocal bad directions. It’s a Sports Authority. It’s fine. Unilocal is becoming garbage by the day.

I love this place! It has a great selection of shoes, socks & athletic wear. We have also had great luck with the custom made shoe inserts. 3 of us have done this & all of us love the inserts. I usually have to change out my shoes every 3 – 4 months & with the inserts I have had my shoes more than 6 months. I usually would have horrible back & knee pain as a reminder to switch shoes.
Service is incredible too!

We got to the store less than 15 minutes before closing last night. As soon as we stepped in the store, we were greeted by somebody. Everyone who helped us was pleasant and not in a hurry at all. They explained to us our options on delivery and equipment assembly (we bought an elliptical machine) and the different options for extended warranty which I am interested in buying in the first place. Somebody showed my husband how big the box is when the question of if the box will fit in our vehicle since we opted to just buy it last night instead of waiting for the delivery. While paying, the cashier who helped us shared that he used the elliptical as well when he started to lose weight before which helped me get more motivated to use the machine. All in all, they are pleasant, knowledgable and professional.

S.A. Elite re-​branded and is now a Sports Authority. True to the chain, this sporting goods store has a large selection of fitness gear and clothing. It’s a polished and more upscale version than you’d find in other locations.
The floor plan is open, making it easy to find what you’re looking for right away. The signage clearly demarcates the different sections — Fitness, Camping, Team Sports, Women’s & Kids, Men’s, and Shoes.
There is a nice kiosk right next to the cash wrap in the center of the store where you can find help if one of the many clerks is busy. When I was there, I saw two people ringing up customers and three people working the floor.
I really liked their selection, as well as their prices, which are standard.
Another plus is the motion-​sensor front doors that just open when you exit — in case your arms are loaded with bags of product :)
Since this did used to be a running-​specific store, they still have the S.A. Elite-​branded machines where you can create a custom footbed for your shoes, as well as a treadmill where you can evaluate your stride.

I just went in yesterday, looking for a last minute Christmas gift. The lady that helped me, Jen, was great. I managed to find something with her guidance and left a happy camper.

Friendly staff that seems intent on helping you find exactly what you’re looking for. I’ve been here a couple times now and have been more than pleased with the service I have received. Very knowledgeable staff that make you feel like they are listening, not just selling.

What a huge difference from my last experience in sport authority (Emeryville)
Went there last Sunday to by new running shoes; the sales person was so professional
I spent 25 minutes with him while he found the perfect running shoes for me
The price was reasonable and bottom line I will defiantly go back to buy my next shoes over there

I came in, now 35 minutes ago, and have not been helped at all! Asian guy with long hair walking around passed me three times and asked someone who is white if needed help. Staff members are busy doing duties in the store none of them tending to customers. I have been standing by the shoes for 30 minutes now and no one has asked me if I needed help. I did want to get two pairs of shoes and now not so much.
Ad says enthusiast will help us and I’m definitely not sure what they meant.

I’ve gotten a couple pairs of shoes here. Pretty good selection. The store is a bit of a ghost-​town, usually only one or two other customers at most whenever I’ve gone. The employees are friendly and happy to help. Even a better deal when you buy shoes on sale or clearance! If you become a ‘member’, you purchases will accrue points and you’ll get a S.A. gift card in the mail every so often with those points turned into money. Last one I got was ~$ 11.
I haven’t bought any clothing here but they carry all the standard brands; Nike, Adidas, Under Armor, etc.
You can enter from the front or the back in the parking garage where the valet is for The Cheesecake Factory. I often park across the street at the abandoned KFC because it’s usually quicker and easier.

This sporting good store, located outside of the downtown area on California Ave, is also a part of the Sport’s Authority franchise. But you will see more gears and apparels for the elite and serious athletes at this store.
The original Sport’s Authority, you see stuff for the casuals. You see various gears from your favorite pro team.
But this store carries the updated gears and apparels for all sports. Brands such as Nike Brooks, Mizuno, Asics, Saucony, North Face and Underarmour are among the popular brands for the serious sports enthusiast. You will not find anything from San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders or the 2012 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants from here. The Giant’s dugout store is located in the Broadway Plaza; so go there and get your Giant’s gear.
The price are somewhat competitive to other sporting good places. The staff are very knowledgeable and know your needs.
The downtown area of Walnut Creek has many gyms, yoga and pilate studios and other active recreational centers. This is the place to get your needs.
I just received a hefty gift card from Sport’s Authority for Christmas. You can also use that gift card at all S. A. Elite stores nationwide.
I was just here just browsing. But a couple of items did caught my eyes. I will come back and bring that gift card for my first purchase.

This is a SA Elite by Sports Authority store that features mainly clothing and shoes while the other Sports Authority stores carries clothing, shoes, and sporting equipment. This store is catered to more of the higher end or designer and brand name items. There’s a treadmill in the middle of the shoe department that will measure your steps or GAIT to see how you are stepping and what type of shoe or inserts would be good for you. They carry things I have never seen in other stores like… SPANX yoga clothes (lol) and other yoga apparel, maybe to compete with Lululemon down the street. The sales associates were very friendly. The guy in the shoe department helped my hubby choose the perfect pair of shoes and was patient while he tried on tons of different pairs and even gave his own opinions and suggestions which was helpful without being pushy.

This place is not the business.
First time I came here, I became almost instantly frustrated with the store. They supposedly display their clothes by sport, but to me everything just seems jumbled together and there are no signs to help you find anything.
Beside shoes and clothes, they don’t really sell much. Don’t come here looking for weight-​lifting gloves or maybe roller skates or a cool new water bottle.
The prices are crazy to me. Why anyone would spend $ 40 on a sports bra is beyond me.
The people working here are friendly, but that does not make me like their overpriced merchandise.

Great selection of clothing and shoes, especially for women with money… nice layout, and pretty friendly staff. I did feel like they were pushing products on me when I really just wanted to walk around and see everything, not be shoved into a dressing room to try Spanx running pants (wtf?!) I do like the shoes that one person recommended to me, and the prices are pretty comparable to other high end sports stores.
