Great Store! Great People! Very knowledgeable staff with a wide array of supplies for the active lifestyle. I’ve bought running gear and tri gear ffrom them and have been very impressed with how thorough they are in there assessment of my needs. I hadn’t bought a new pair of running shoes for a while so they helped me try on(and try out by running a bit around the store) until we found the right shoes for me. I have now logged quite a few miles on these shoes and am verry happy with them. On a side note. The accompanying FMRC group sponsors and participates in a lot of events around the area and are a great bunch of people. I see them at almost all of my races and are always welcoming and generally a great bunch of people to be around. In short FoMo rocks!!!

Another one bites the dust… Just another great Walnut Creek retail spot with dark windows now. At least I’ll still have the Danville location for future running shoe needs…*tear*

I participate in triathlons and always searching for new comfy racing and training clothes and gear. I have always had great service every time I’ve shopped at Forward Motion. I too, like many others, tend to be a thrifty person, but the service and individual attention I have gotten here keeps me coming back even if I pay a little more for some things. I think this year I will probably even join their racing team to get in on the in store discounts and other perks.

I always end up buying something when I go in this store. I buy all of my running shoes here, because the staff is very friendly and they always have my size. When trying on shoes, the staff will analyze your feet and stride in order to make suggestions. I only run fairly short distances so this store has more than enough gear to satisfy me. They have bicycle gear and swim suits too.

As a picky gal with a serious thrift gene, there are few words which make me smile more than«guaranteed fit». Yes, running clothes are cheaper at Ross, yes, the sneakers are cheaper on Zappos, but with FMS, I could run in my purchases – outside! — and take them back if not absolutely, 100% satisfied… if they offered childcare, I would give them 5 stars… and half my husband’s paycheck…

This place has been hit or miss with me. The focus of the store seems to be directed to two types of people-people who race in tris and have money to burn and people who want to look like they work out. 2 blocks down on Bonanza is a serious store for runners. Forward motion isn’t any better than roadrunner in Pleasant Hill as far as price and road runners has a better selection.

Nice sized store with a good selection of clothing. They’re one of the primary Nike retailers so they have the cute stuff(cool stuff for guys). They have the Nike Womens Marathon gear in right now so go check it out. Great wall of shoes with a wide selection. Lots of other stuff, gels, fuel belts, etc. I wish they had a better selection of hats and socks. I haven’t bought any shoes here yet so I’m curious if they let you run outside when you try them on. I didn’t see a treadmill anywhere.

This place rocks. I seem to stop in every time I’m in Walnut Creek. One experience in particular stands out in my mind, though. My boyfriend was on the hunt for new shoes and the New Balance model he’d used/replaced for several years before was discontinued. Roberta spent a long time helping him find the right pair of shoes. I’d guess 45 minutes to an hour. He must’ve tried on every man’s running shoe in the store before settling one of the last pairs. She was so helpful, watching his stride and recommending appropriate footwear. I talked to her a bit about heart rate monitors and although I didn’t purchase one, she was very informative. Highly recommended.

I’ve been here twice to buy running shoes(brooks adrenaline 6 and 7, woo!) and I’ve had a great experience both times. The first time(as a completely new runner) the salesguy asked me a zillion random questions about how much/how/where I run, and then watched me jog around the store so he could see what my stride was like. He fitted me with the Brooks shoe, and I couldn’t be happier with it. I just went back today to replace the first pair with the newer model, and this salesguy was super nice and helpful too! He helped me find a product called«bodyglide» that you apply to your skin to prevent blisters… He even said he thinks I could use it with high heels… score! 5 stars for extremely helpful, nice, and knowledgeable salespeople and an all around cool store!
