History

Established in 1983.

Dr. Miller has served as a restorative and cosmetic dentist in his Walnut Creek neighborhood since 1983. Specializing in Smile Design and aesthetic dentistry, Dr. Miller has placed literally thousands of porcelain restorations for those seeking to brighten their smiles. As a family practitioner, he is also sensitive to working with his patients to provide the care that matches their vision and harmonizes with their financial goals. Having raised two sons in Walnut Creek, he has served as a coach and mentor in the local schools. He takes special pride in his staff, some of whom have been trusted members of his practice for over twenty years.

Business Owner

Dr. Robin Miller, MSW, DDS, opened his practice, Walnut Creek Cosmetic Dental Design, in 1983, graduating with the first wave of dentists who received training in the new field of Cosmetic Dentistry. He found the field of dental aesthetics an exciting specialty and he has sought to combine his love of aesthetic dental services with a general practice that serves families in the broader Walnut Creek community.

Dr. Miller received his undergraduate and post-​graduate education at the University of California, Berkeley, and was elected Phi Beta Kappa for his scholastic achievements. Dr. Miller earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at UCSF in 1983 and was honored by the California Dental Association for his student contributions in research which were published in the CDA Journal. He will soon celebrate 30 years of practice in Walnut Creek.

I was looking for a good place to get my dental needs fulfilled and found a great place with Dr. Miller and Staff. Scheduling was effortless.
During my initial consultation, they were flexible and accommodating. I made contact with four Staff members; from Tony at the front desk to Dr. Miller, they certainly made me feel comfortable and I felt like the visit was beyond thorough.
Looking forward to my next visit in 6.

I was brand new to the area when I started going to Dr. Miller, and I’m amazed that I found such a great dentist so quickly. All of the staff are friendly and helpful, and there’s always a comfortable environment in the office. I felt welcome as soon as I walked in.
I don’t have much to go on (I’ve only been a couple of times and haven’t had any dental issues), but Dr. Miller is very professional and knows what he’s talking about. He has a fun sense of humor. Candace, one of the hygienists, is very friendly and does a great job cleaning my teeth. She’s always helpful in answering my questions, too.
All in all, I’m very impressed with Dr. Miller and everyone in this office!

We have been patients and fans for more than 20 years! Dr. Miller was my son’s very first dentist and we attribute his perfectly healthy mouth to his skills and abilities. Our whole family trusts him 100 000% to care for us. Over the years, we have really bonded with him, his wife, and their incredibly stable, loyal, devoted staff. We have referred them to many a friend. Finding a partner like Dr. Miller is a true blessing!

Dr. Miller was my dentist for 23 years until I moved to Oregon in late 2011. In 2014 I visited him again to have him replace a filling he did 20 years ago. My Oregon dentist claimed that the filling was «failing» and that I needed to replace it or I would suffer bone loss. I had a funny feeling about his $ 3,000 solution, so I decided to check in with Dr. Miller again since I was gong to be in the Bay Area anyway.
Dr. Miller looked at the Xray’s, examined the tooth, and said, «Jane, I can’t find anything wrong with that filling!» So if you are looking for a dentist in the Bay Area, you can rest assured that Dr. Miller is not only very skilled at dentistry, he is also completely HONEST!
He is the best at what he does; his staff is professional and warm; you will love going to see everyone at this office. If you are looking for a dentist in the Walnut Creek area, you cannot do better than Dr. Miller and his staff. You just can’t!

I wish my husband (Ugo) could have written this review, as he had fired two doctors in the past. He found Dr. Robin Miller when we moved from Walnut Creek to Martinez nine years ago. It was love at first site. Dr. Miller, wife Loel and his entire staff are so happy. We were greeted by Gillian, front desk person, with her British Accent and smiles that made us forget we were in a dentist office. She has since retired from her position (never heard of). I could write a book about the office. It is an exceptional place to be, and you just have to be his patient to experience the comments we have posted on this site. Dr Miller & Loel and staff have been my extended family and even more so when my husband of 26 years who suffered from Parkinson passed away last June 2013. Ugo spoke very highly of Dr Miller and staff to his other doctors (he had 10 by the way). He was very thankful and grateful that Dr. Miller had taken the time to write to him about several care option during his illness. Dr Miller had given my husband choices of cares which was priceless. Thanks for showing great empathy. Special thank to my husband’s hygienist, Cindy for advising me via email mind you, how to do better care for my ailing husband’s gum and teeth back then. Of course my hygienist Candice, Loel, Geneal, Michele, and Kay — Thank You. I am sure Ugo agrees with my giving you rating of 10.

I have been going to Dr. Miller’s dental practice for over 20 years, as has my now-​adult daughter. Dr. Miller’s care and attention to detail is extraordinary. (Long ago, I was married to a dental student, so I vicariously became aware of «just enough to be dangerous» :-) Dr. Miller and his hygienist Cindy are both so caring and warm – an added bonus! The rest of the staff are all very friendly and organized. It’s just a great practice all around. At one point, I had a dental issue of mine which presented itself on a weekend and Dr. Miller did not hesitate to stay in continual contact with me to make sure I was ok until the next business day. We just cannot say enough about how comfortable we are in this practice.

I am long due to give Dr Miller, Cindy, and everybody in his office the public aknowledgement they deserve! I have been going to them for 18 years, and my husband was their patient for many years before that. Walking into the office feels like visiting family at this point, it is such a relaxing, friendly environment (yes, I am talking about a dental office!). Most visits are for the uneventful twice yearly cleaning, but on the occasions over the years when I have had to have dental work done, Dr Miller always gave me a patient explanation of what needed to be done and why, and the leeway to decide whether I wanted to proceed right away or, if it was OK for me to delay it, to do so. Being an anxious person it didn’t used to be easy for me to go to the dentist and let them have free rein in my mouth… I can’t recall the last time I got anxious visiting Dr Miller’s office, and in fact I am getting a small procedure done tomorrow, and I’m almost more looking forward to catching up with Michelle and everyone than thinking of the procedure itself :)

Rare find! I have been blessed to be a patient of Dr. Miller’s for about 12 years. He is professional, thorough, and kind. He takes time to explain the details, creates a comfortable atmosphere for patients, and makes going to the dentist a positive experience — who knew that was possible? He always goes over my options, and I feel part of the decision-​making process. But what stands out to me is the overall staff — they are always cheerful and friendly! I would recommend Dr. Miller’s dental office to one and all!

Dr. Miller is a fine dentist, and a nice person. I have had him as my dentist for 25 years, and I’m so happy that I found him. Prior to was a string of not so good dentists and/​or their staffs. Dr. Miller does exceptional work, especially cosmetic dentistry. He is not a money grubber, and this shows throughout his whole practice. He takes the time to explain what he’s doing and your options. He recommends what is best for the patient, even when it clearly costs his bottom line. He is very respectful of his staff, and they all seem to love working in this practice.

I have been going to Dr Miller for several years and he is the best I have ever seen. I don’t have the greatest teeth genes and have had cavities since I was a kid. Dr Miller has been helping me replace all of the nasty metal fillings with white as well as a defective crown. He always takes care to make sure I am not in pain and that I am comfortable (as comfortable as you can be at the dentist). Also, the hygienists are wonderful. Very thorough in cleaning and teaching you better ways to clean your teeth. I have recently moved to Oakland and work in SF but am still keeping Dr Miller as my dentist, he is that good!
