Soon after I began teaching, I learned that my students work twice as hard when practicing pieces of music that they love, and have twice as much fun doing it. While that seems fairly obvious, a lot of teachers out there still pressure their students into playing music they don’t care for, and by doing that — prevent students from achieving their full potential.
That is not how I do it! I always inquire about my student’s musical taste and make sure their homework reflect that. I have a huge collection of sheet music and have memorized hundreds of songs, licks and riffs for you to choose from. On top of that, I’ll be more than happy to learn some songs from your musical world, and incorporate them into our lessons. I do it every day for my students and I’ll be happy to do the same for you.
History
Established in 2003.
I started playing guitar back in 1995 and fell in love with it immediately. I quickly began teaching some of my friends, showing them the basics so we could play together. I’ve always enjoyed teaching music, even when it was just for fun, but it wasn’t until 2003 or so, that I’ve fully committed to being a professional guitar teacher. That was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made! I love my work and am very grateful I get to do it every single day.
Meet the Business Owner
Jacob L.
Business Owner
I’ve been a professional musician and guitar teacher for the past 10 years, helping hundreds of students be the best guitar players they can be. Whether you just want to play a few songs for your friends, be the guitar player in the band or aspire to be a full time working musician — I can show you the way to get there. I’ll tailor the lessons to your goals, your musical taste and the amount of time you have to practice every week, and create a personalized guitar curriculum that fits you perfectly.
Playing the guitar is my life, my passion and my livelihood — and it shows in the way I teach. I started playing almost 20 years ago, and have been practicing every day since. I had a lot of great teachers along the way, and I incorporate the best in each and every one of them in my lessons. Having been a working guitar player for a decade now, I learned a ton of priceless tricks from fellow musicians and artists, that I’d be happy to share with you.
