I work with my students to develop an individualized curriculum. We develop music performance skills including technique, note reading, and important pieces in classical, jazz, show music, and rock. This is balanced with the student’s favorite genres, artists, and songs, contributing to confident, skillful, and highly motivated musicians!

History

Established in 1980.

I’ve been actively teaching piano, guitar, trumpet, electric bass, other instruments, songwriting, and composition since 1980. I’ve had the privilege of teaching all levels and ages in Berkeley, Oakland, Lamorinda, and other parts of the Bay Area.

I always feel great getting together to encourage and witness someone working on their musical skills. Whether it is Holiday songs, favorite songs, or pieces in a variety of styles and genres, there is always a sense of comfort, times for laughter, and a lot of encouragement to the process!
