Gloss Nail Spa

So disappointed I’ve gone numerous times and each time it gets worse and worse. They give me the most inexperienced manicurists, if you call them that. On top of a NON PROFESSIONAL manicure, they have switched off the last three times and have some one else finish my gel manicure. I will NEVER GIVE THEM MY money again. Not worth the $ 25 or $ 28 they claim. Oh and they quote different prices for the shape you want. Waste of time and money.

My fav nail salon in the east bay! I drive from Oakland to Gloss just to get a mani/​pedi that I like and in an atmosphere that I like!
Make sure you make an appointment! Also, most of the nail techs are great so, I just go to whoever is free. Works great ⁹⁄₁₀ times :-)

I don’t know why this place is so busy? The customer service is horrible, the massage… Not worth it! The towels smell like they were left in the washer too long. She had the warm towels laying on her basket, and one was slightly on the ground. Then after using them on me, she put them on the dirty floor to sit there until she was done! They need a new process.
The gel mani was the best part and she’s the reason I’m giving three stars!
No plans on visiting again!

I’m finally writing a review because the last time I went was the straw that broke the camels back. I got a gel manicure and everything was going fine until the nail tech cut my cuticle. Ok sure happens to the best of them but then she did it again and again and again… I ended up with 5 bloody fingers. And instead of putting alcohol on them and sanitizing the wound she just rubbed lotion on the cuts to suppress the bleeding. I finally just took my hands back and said I need you to give me a clean cotton swap and some rubbing alcohol. When I got up to wash my hands she already had someone sitting in my seat with all my stuff… couldn’t wait till I got back? I couldn’t get the bleeding to stop on some of my fingers so I was holding a napkin to them while I paid and she had the nerve to ask if I was going to add a tip to my card. I’m standing there holding a napkin to my bleeding fingers. Of course you’re not getting a tip. Man did my cuticles hurt for the next few days they were so tender. To top it all off the gel wasn’t applied smoothly all my nails have lumps and bumps. ⁵⁄₁₀ fingers bleeding at the end of the appointment, you just can’t come back from that. I’ve been going here for a year out of convince as it is around the corner from my house and it’s always more misses then hits. If you try this place, good luck, you might have a good one you might not, that’s their biggest downfall inconsistency.

Ivy at Gloss nail salon is the best! I had acrylic nails on and off for years and Ivy carefully buffed out my ridges and shaped my nails even though they were short and sad. Within one month of going to Ivy my nails have become longer and stronger! I’ve been to SO many nail salons and its really refreshing because Ivy takes her time and really cares about the experience. Her pedicures are awesome too! Oh and she’s funny!

I will not come back! I get acrylic nails done for years and had no problem until Gloss Nails did a full for me. I had three nails broken within 10 days. One of my nails got fixed so ugly, I’ve never seen anything like that. Also when you make appointment, the wait time is at least 20 min. Why have appointment system then?
When I came in to have three broken nails fixed, they said that everyone who can do that for me has left for the day. I said that I won’t be able to come in for the next five days and can’t walk around with three broken nails. Miraculously the person who was working on one of the coworker was able to take me! She originally rejected to fix their poor job because she was busy fixing coworkers nails!
You can find nail salon on every corner. This one will not be my choice in future.

Went in to get my eyebrows tinted. I am blonde, and I asked for a my natural color, but a little darker. When she finished I looked in the mirror to see dark brown eyebrows! She rubbed the with rubbing alcohol for 15 minutes to try to lighten, and said I should have said that I wanted matching. meaning matching my hair color. Really? Was told by another Unilocaler that you have to be repetitive with them, or they will just do what they want.

Pretty good service, but got a shellac manicure and it didn’t even last two weeks :(. I’ll have to remember not to come back here for the shellac.

My nail guy decided to leave the country without notifying me … Ugh! So I’m scrambling to find someone ASAP — cause a girl can’t walk around with unattended hands. I’m pretty lay back — but I know what I want and how it’s supposed to be done. I visited Gloss Nails with a referral to Vivian. She was friendly but not nosy. I like that… A lot. The shop was like any typical salon on the north end of WC. Nothing fancy but competitive pricing for the services. She ran 30 minutes behind. That’s why I gave it 4 stars …
I was starting to wonder if it’s worth it. Although I personally think it’s rude to have customers with appointments wait — it’s pretty normal for these shops. I finally got in the chair and told/​showed her what I’d like done. 30 minutes later — Beautifully done nails. I was so glad I waited and not turned into the impatient snooty Queen B WC is known to have… Lol! Vivian did an amazing job. She is my new person.

I found this place after moving to Bay Point and trying many nails shops (about7). This place is Amazing and Vivian is wonderful. Every place I went to my nails would either break or the polish would chip, the nails would be too thick you name it everything was wrong but coming here I was so happy with the results. Finally I found a nail shop I will be going to … Thanks Vivian

Decide to be spontaneous and get my nails done at a new place today. It was a total waste of time. Although there service was quick, the lady who did my nails kept commenting on how thin my nails where and how I needed to be extremely careful. In top of that, I asked for the stiletto shape and they’re extremely crooked and misshaped. It already seems like they need to be refilled and I just got them today!
I also found it rude that the lady who was doing my nails kept getting up to attend other people who walked through the door and then ask for a tip on my way out.
$ 45 down the drain.
I will never visit this place again.

Cheapest place to get your nails done in walnut creek. 25 for a gel manicure and 20 for pedicure. They massage for a long time, way longer than other nails salon. They are nice and polite. The place is clean. They are open late. If you live in walnut creek this is the place to go.

Wow — Valentine’s Day here was the worst service I’ve experienced. The woman giving me a pedicure was checking her texts throughout the whole time and not paying attention and also picking up every phone call that came in.
The shop wasn’t busy at all and we still had to wait ten minutes to have someone come over when we made and appointment and it was slow.
Also — I’d like to mention that someone who came here before was accused of not paying for her service in front of everyone. How embarrassing and unprofessional.
I used to really like this place but after today I will go elsewhere. We booked a manicure and pedicure and can only stay through the pedicure because the service is so ridiculous.
Don’t come here unless you just strictly want the polish change. If you’re looking to relax… Save your money and time.

Cindy did my nails. First I arrived and tried making conversation with her and she was very short and talking vietnamese with the ladies around her. Then she didn’t fully take my entire gel off and didn’t bother to file them evenly. I had to stop her because she was going to go ahead and put the gel on my nails when they weren’t even ready. Some nails were slanted, some round and some square. I came in with square nails, i don’t know how she got them like that hahahaha Its quite the skill. Anyway, I am completely unhappy with Cindy’s job. I will go back and ask for a different person and give it one last shot before moving on to a new place :)!
P. S. She filled my nails too much. They are paper thin and they bend easily even with the gel on.

I came here around 5:15 tonight after work for a gel mani & regular pedi, & I was NOT disappointed! Unfortunately didn’t catch their names, but the ladies who did my nails were fantastic! The one who did my pedi (she wears a jade bracelet & a black blingy bracelet) gave the BEST foot/​leg massage ever! Young girl with short hair who did my mani was super sweet.
I love that this place is right in front of my apartment — and everything only cost $ 46! I’ll definitely be back

My review is for the woman who did my nails ONLY. There were some ladies at this place that I saw doing really great nails.
I asked for «coffin nails» and I ended up with wobbly shaped, uneven, disgusting, painful mess. The old polish (orange for Halloween) wasn’t all the way removed before the new acrylic was put on. When I complained about it, she said insisted it wasn’t old polish but from me tanning. I don’t go to tanning beds, I’m naturally brown skinned. It was super rude to say it was my fault for using tanning lotion, and if it was from anything on my nails they still should clean it up before trapping it under a layer of acrylic! The orange showing from the sides looked like I ate Doritos and didn’t wash my hands after, she didn’t even paint the sides of the nails which made it look much worse than simply covering up the old orange with paint. (Posting pictures as proof). Some of the tools my tech used, did not appear to be cleaned and I should have just ran for the hills. The tech drilled at least a millimeter deep into my nail bed to the point of horrible shooting nerve pain, and then said I was too sensitive. The cuticle area of the acrylics were over my skin, and she cut up my cuticles very bad when filing the extra acrylic off. I was in tears from both shame of the hideous nails, and horrible shooting nerve pain. I ended up insisting they remove the nails so I could take my business elsewhere. Oh, and the massage chairs are broken so the knobs stick in your back at uncomfortable places (but at least they used a plastic barrier to keep things sanitary).
The other ladies who helped take turns removing my nails in between their clients were nice. They didn’t hassle me about paying for the nails. I did pay the woman who did my pedicure and tipped her very well. Sometimes one bad tech can really bring a pace down! This was my first, and last time at this salon. If you are going to go here make sure to book with a tech that is good and has pictures of good work they have done. Don’t just take whoever is free.

You will never find a better nail salon. Every tech is wonderful and meticulous. The color selection is great, and they give you an awesome leg, foot, and hand/​arm massage. Gel manicure & pedicure for $ 45!
They are so sweet and provide free starburst too.

I had a shellac mani done by Bella and pedi by Elli. Both were super sweet and took their time. I also got a great massage from both! I love the service. I think I will make this a more frequent event at this nail salon.
Book an appointment if possible, they get super busy. I arrived at 9:20 am and they officially open at 9:30. In a matter of 10 minutes, 9 customers started staggering on in. It was crazy. The staff was very welcoming and kindly acknowledged all the walk ins
On another note, looks like the price for a shellac mani and pedi went up to $ 58. I have read a lot of reviews saying it was $ 40 but not sure if that was a promo. And they do charge $ 1 for using credit card. Not fair but it is what it is. Minus 1 star for that.
