Description

Specialties

Bosphorus has carved its signature in Turkish food lovers hearts and souls. We all know that we can only taste the real Turkish food in Turkey, but Bosphorus has made it possible for us to have same experience in this restaurant in the heart of downtown Walnut Creek.

History

Established in 2011.

The name «Bosphorus» is taken from the strait that lies in the center of Istanbul connecting the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara and separating Europe from Asia. The waterway has played a significant role throughout history — from Ulysses to Byzas, the founder of Byzantium (later Constantinople and now modern-day Istanbul).

Bosphorus is a family-owned and run business. The owners, want to share their culture by creating a restaurant with authentic Turkish cuisine and a welcoming environment. The dishes on the menu are the same as those made by their mother and enjoyed together as a family.

The décor is reminiscent of their childhood as well. The pictures are familiar scenes throughout Istanbul — from the spices at the Grand Market to the orange sunset silhouetting the city’s skyline.
