Been meaning to write this for a couple months. These guys are very knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and not at all pushy. I’m very happy with my New Balances and could not have found a better price or better information about what shoe is best for me online.

Always great service and selection! They even replaced my shoes after 3 weeks when they got a hole without any hassle. They have my loyalty.

A terrific store. Very helpful with a respectable selection of shoes. Prices are pretty close to the big online vendors, but well worth it to support this local, small independent business that is a true gem.

I’m someone that puts in 30 – 40 miles of walking/​hiking every week but lately I’ve been starting to feel some pain. I walked in and Shannan immediately noted my problem in how I was standing and feet were positioned. She suggested some shoes and soon after I walked out with new shoes that make a noticeable difference in how my feet feel.

I will now be a forever customer. Wonderful service from Tim! He really took time to work with me and find the best fitting shoe. I liked another pair that were a bit more expensive (I liked the color), and he gave me his honest opinion that the less expensive pair were a better fit for me. Phenomenal customer service, educated assistance and well stocked shop.

The service was very knowledgeable and patient. We discussed my specific foot problem and tried different shoes as well as different inserts until we came up with a solution. I would definitely recommend this store.

Want to save your knees? Your ankles? Your toes? Go to these guys for your running and active exercise shoes. I’ve been in a high intensity dance exercise class for years. Couldn’t do it without the expert knowledge of Athletic Outpost putting me in the right shoes with the right inserts. They take the time to listen to what you need and fit you without the high pressure sales of the big places like Sports Authority. And they charge a whole lot less for inserts than Sports Authority does.

I came here to check out running shoes. The lady was very patient and helpful with my indecisiveness. I tried on a few shoes and she would watch me walk to make sure the shoes fit my walking/​rynning. Finally after a few tries I was able to find a pair of brooks that fit perfectly. Although it was a bit pricy but my feet can assure that it was worth it!

I love this place. The people who run it are super knowledgable on feet and proper fit. They stock all different widths. I am 6’5″ and have a narrow 13. They know right which brands will work for me.

I came here to buy a pair of running shoes. The staff was very helpful and knowledgable. I am extremely pleased with my new pair of shoes from them! Before, I owned a random pair of Nike shoes. Every time I ran, my arches would hurt. After coming here and trying several pairs of shoes recommended by the staff, I don’t have any more pain in my feet when I run. I would definitely come back here again. Plus, you get to support a local business.

Unbelievable experience – I called an hour before closing, and the owner of this store offered to stay open late just to let me try on shoes. I couldn’t arrive until 20 minutes after their closing, and he was all smiles. He then advised me expertly and patiently, without pressure or obligation. When i finally decided to purchase a pair, he suggested a CHEAPER pair instead, trying to down-​sell me! I knew nothing about running shoes, and he easily could have sold me an overtly expensive pair.
The customer service was over the top, product knowledge thorough (and attitude not at all condescending), and the prices very reasonable. This is the epitome of what small businesses should be, and why people should always preference these kind of shops over generic mega-​online stores. I would refer any and everybody to Athletic Outpost.

I have gone back time and time again to this store to get my running shoes. The same two people are always there — the owner and a super nice woman who’s been there for 20 years. Both are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about fitting running shoes. I have always been happy with their recommendations, and although they do have a very nice return policy (try your shoes for 5 miles before committing to them) I have never had to use it.

The only place I’ll buy shoes anymore. I wear them about 5 days a week for almost a year. Comfort and quality is worth it. Pleasurable and easy experience. Had ankle pain before I got shoes here. Slowly pain went away. You know how good it feels to not be in pain? Priceless!

Just bought a pair of running shoes. The service was great! The staff is very knowledgable. The selection is not large but the quality of shoes are there. They also have Balega socks which is definitely a plus !

We are so happy to have walked into this store. We were just walking around the neighborhood and I thought that it wouldn’t hurt to just ask if they had kids track spikes. Shannon was amazingly helpful! She helped us find a 2.5 men’s shoe for my son with his wide foot. The prices are great. She was super sweet to us and our puppy. Shannon’s information was invaluable — she knows what is is talking about from experience and knowledge. This is my new go-​to running store.

Extremely knowledgeable, they provide a proper fitting, and they stand behind each purchase. Don’t make the mistake of buying running shoes online or at a «big box» store. Your feet will thank you and their prices are comparable. Highly recommended.

I had vague memories of our Cross Country coach telling us to buy our shoes here so when I spotted a Groupon deal, I was all over it. Recently, I ran in the LA Marathon and with training getting intense, I needed to buy a better pair of shoes. The guy who helped me (I think it was the owner) was super knowledgeable, friendly and even gave me some really useful info on how I should train for the race. He was honest too, letting me know that he had his daughters try out one of the shoes on the rack and they didn’t like them.
At the end of the day, good quality running shoes cost about the same. Why risk buying from some Joe Schmoe who just tells you to run around the block and see. These guys know running and they know running shoes. My marathon went off without a hitch and I have these guys to thank for it.

If you’ve ever thought, «I wish there was a shoe store where people actually know what they’re talking about, that could help me get exactly the right fit (especially from a functionality point of view), a place where someone will just take care of me and what I need…» THIS IS THE PLACE. Fantastic service, Shannon brought out pair after pair, having me try one on one foot, one on the other to make sure the BEST fit was made. She was really happy to do this and completely straight-​forward… unlike some places, where the people «helping» you seem to really just wish you would buy something and leave, her approach was completely in alignment with what we went in there looking to buy. They offered to let us take a run around the block in the shoes before we bought them to make sure they were right. Shannon also steered me straight to the sales area when I said I wanted to buy some shorts, and showed me all of them.
They are not trying to maximize your purchases on your first visit, they are making sure to make life-​time customers out of you. I really appreciate that.

I came to this store because of a living social coupon. smart advertising. wouldn’t have thought to try this place before. Definitely worthwhile. I can’t vouch for how great they are at fitting shoes. I pretty much went in with an idea of what I wanted. They have a good selection of a wide range of shoes. I liked that it was a small shop with not the same old clothing lines, etc. of the bigger stores. Really good array of different types of clothing for runners of all sizes (that’s right, we’re not all 5’4″ 90 lbs — not that there’s anything wrong with that ;-))
Didn’t try to oversell me on shoes, but I gotta say I felt a bit under served on my determining the right shoe. The other challenge is they can really only afford to buy in the sweet spot of sizes, so if you’re a narrow or larger foot (and maybe smaller foot) they’ll have to special order — but they do this happily and quickly.
All in all a great experience. Much better than some place like Road Runner, and you can tell they’ll help you out with any concerns down the line.
Will definitely go back!
