Brands in this section include 7 for All Mankind, Coach, Citzens of Humanity, JCrew and more. We also feature new and unique toys and gifts & are the only official Girl Scout retailer near the 680 corridor from Walnut Creek to Martinez.

History

Established in 2004.

When planning for the grand opening in 2004, I wanted to pair my love of a good deal with the clean look of a retail store. Light, bright, clean and uncluttered was my mantra. My idea was to create a friendly place that welcomes children and grandparents alike; a neighborhood store where people could make a quick stop for a gift or spend an hour perusing for the perfect little outfit. Well, my dream is now a reality and I would love to share it with you!

After 10 years of working in advertising in San Francisco, I was going through a tough adjustment period of being a stay-​at-​home mom with my baby. Often we spent our days shopping, and as my receipt pile grew taller, my bank account grew smaller. I simply loved putting my little girl in cute outfits (it’s an addiction, I admit) so I thought I’d try a local consignment shop to check it out. A new passion was born as I discovered that not only did I save a ton of money, but also loved discovering the «finds» in consignment stores… I now had a new addiction!

As fate would have it, when shopping at my neighborhood market, a «For Lease» sign called my name… and the idea for A Wee Change was born.

I hear a lot about this store from my moms group, some good some bad. I guess it just depends on the day and how the owner/​sale associates feel. When I went the lady was very snobby eating a bagel and didn’t really want to help. Ok selection, over priced, not many toys.
I’ll give it a shot one more time, hope to be greeted with a pleasant attitude next time around.

I know they don’t widely advertise baby gear, but if they do accept them, they should be selling more than a handful, right? Well, the selection was very slim. One swing, a couple of baby carriers, and a couple of my brest friend ($ 20. I think they were $ 15 at Growing Pain. I went to both of them today). The one single used Ergo Baby Original Infant Insert is priced $ 27. You can get one at BabiesRUs, BuyBuyBaby, Target, or Amazon, new for $ 24 – 25.
I’d say that they have the most selection of maternity clothing I’ve seen in a consignment store and some nice looking stuff. Unfortunately the only think I was looking for in that category is nursing bras, which they had about 5 of. Nice looking, decent condition, $ 17 each.
A lot of children’s books, puzzles, and other small toys, but again, I’m not sure about the prices on anything at this place. I would not go out of my way to come to this place.

I went in today, and asked one of the women working (the one with dark hair) if they had any firetruck books. She said «I don’t know. Maybe. We have a lot of books». Really??? How about you help me look?! The same woman was rude to two children during today’s visit. This isn’t the first time I’ve witnessed her being rude to children, and this isn’t the first time that she was rude to me. I would like to add that the blond woman has always been nice and helpful.

I’m giving this place one star because the two times I have been in the store the employees were really rude. In fact I think one of the times it was the owner.
I also wish they would focus more on children’s clothes and shoes than on the adult clothing. Maybe take a lesson from once upon a child. They are a fantastic store with lots of selection. :)

In need of kid’s clothing or toys but don’t want to spend too much and don’t mind buying consignment items?
Also want to get yourself something casual and nice while you’re shopping for the munchkins?
Then check this place out.
They carry both consignment and new items for both kids and women.
The customer service is excellent!
I came in on Christmas Eve for a gift for my nephew and found several nice items.
The salesgirl was nice enough to spend at least 20 minutes trying to put together a toy for my nephew, and when we couldn’t figure it out, she helped me find another item in exchange.
A women in front of me at the register came in for cute clothing for herself, and while she shopped, her two boys played in the toy section.
Then they started asking for toys.
Mom: You’ll get toys for Christmas
Little Boy: But I want toys nowww! (starting to cry a little)
It’s so tough to wait 24 hours for Santa to bring you toys when you’re 3 years old!
*Tip: They employ a seamstress through the shop, so if any of your items are missing buttons or need to be altered, they can help you with that.
*Tip: In January, they will begin taking consignment for Spring. Once you have an account, if you need to return any of your Melissa & Doug items within 7 days with a receipt, they can credit your account.

My wife and I came here looking for maternity clothing. Store is located in a strip mall toward the back. Parking is plentiful. The store itself was moderate in size with aisles that were tightly packed. There are entrances in the front and back. Selection is pretty limited, but the clothes that was there were clean and in good condition. It didn’t take us that long to go through all of the racks. Prices were disappointing, not much cheaper than we could get new or online. The exception is the infant and toddler clothes, which seemed to be very inexpensive. Customer service was very good and attentive. She answered all of our questions and checked on us frequently. Toy selection was decent, so maybe we’ll come back for that. In summary, we were a bit disappointed, but may stop by if we are in the area.

we drove from Benicia to this store for daisy merchandise… super disappointed with the customer service from the young lady behind the counter.
where are the people that love their jobs? we won’t be returning. I’ll purchase elsewhere. the kids even wanted to browse, no way, we got what we came for and we’re out of here! so sad! choose your employees wisely, you want them to work with you and for you not against you. :(

I came in for the first time recently and I can agree with other people’s review on their pricing. Some I thought were overpriced for the quality especially in the women’s maternity clothing. Not all… just some! I went through all their maternity racks and didn’t really find anything to my liking. Maybe I’m just too picky. I did find (and bought it) a maternity belly band though, which I thought will be a good thing to have for post-​pregnancy. I thought it was a good deal! Hope it will work…
I like the dollar racks they had for children’s clothes but when I got there the choices weren’t that good. Maybe I got to the store late? Perhaps better to get there earlier for better selections. Anyways, this store is really close to where I live so that’s a plus for convenience. The customer service was okay. I went in and didn’t get any kind of acknowledgement and was there for like half hour or so and went out the back door to look at another rack they had. Then I walked back in and that was when I got acknowledge? Huh? That was weird! I was there already and she did not notice me the first time?
I really miss They Grow So Fast in Lafayette, which I thought was a better store. Too bad they went out of business.

This is a relatively good consignment store. Careful, as their prices can be as much as retail for some used clothes. I had zero success finding any good values in the maternity section. They have huge sales twice a year in maternity. Find out these dates the moment you are pregnant (or maybe thinking of getting pregnant) as a whole new wardrobe adds up even if you’re stingy.
The dollar racks for children’s clothes are re-​stocked regularly. Get here early in the morning for the best deals. Also, they have Facebook Friday deals… so follow them. Garage sales and craigslist will still score you some equally good quality baby clothes for a fraction of this stores standard prices. I really miss They Grow So Fast, they were a much better store.

Not the biggest selection of used baby & toddler clothes, but I am sure that changes from time to time or based on seasons. I also found their used baby & toddler clothes to be over priced. Average price was $ 8 per item. If you shop sales at Gymboree and stores like that, you can get great sale prices. Even clothing items I bought earlier this week at Babies R Us brand new were cheaper.

I love this store. Every time I go there to get something specific, I find it. The selection is great and quality is always perfect. The staff is helpful every time and always give suggestions on items I might like or ways to make a look more complete. The organization is also a plus, they are categorized by both age and size.

I really like this store. I try to remember to go there before buying things for my daughter online, which my other usual thing to do. A Wee Change is very organized, has both new and consignment items, and I can usually find really nice things for my daughter there at much cheaper prices than elsewhere.
The only reason I didn’t rate them as a 5 is that you won’t always find exactly what you’re looking for if you’re looking for a particular item, but you will find other things you like! :)

GIRL SCOUTS: A Wee Change carries all levels of journeys, extended journeys, complimenting journey badges, binders, uniforms, general pins, numbers and trinkets. Moving up a level next year? Pre-​order for your entire troop and receive a discount.
TOYS: A decent selection of gently used items, but a far cry from They Grow So Fast. They are obviously a Melissa & Doug vendor with a neat selection of items big and small. A big focus on kid craft projects or accessories. Consider a few of the smaller items as party favors or present toppers.
CLOTHING: From infant through adult which is probably why the toy selection is small. Surprised to find grown up designer shoes and accessories.
BABY STUFF: Everything from diaper bags to play pens. Both gently used gear and new items available.
Mall location has an odd entry and parking layout! Staff is most typically extra friendly but there are the occasional folks that simply do not make eye contact.

Disappointing. Saleswoman, working at the cash register, was annoyed about my questions regarding opening a consignment account. I guess she doesn’t need my business. The front parking lot is a little crazy, so park in the back lot.

As a young, expecting mother– I LOVE this place! The clothing is in perfect condition for great prices and I truly think the owner/​manager/​whoever takes quite a bit of pride in setting up their baby section.
Their maternity section and furniture dropped them a star (wish there was more variety) but as for their baby section, I seem to find something I must have each time I come in here!
I am hoping to bring things in when my son grows out of things– their policy is a bit confusing, but I think it will be worth the effort.

There are several consignmanet store for kids that i frequent and i like some of them more thatn others. This one is in my top two for buying things. I have a girl, so there is cute stuff pretty much always. As with any consignment store, it can be hit or miss… but when i need something i tend to visit them once a week (on my way to Lunardi’s) and 90% of the time I end up finding what I was looking for.
The clothes is adequately priced, there are some real finds on the clearance rack. Nicely organized, nice displays, children’s play area, nice bathroom. As a consigner it is a little more tricky when you start with them and they are quite picky (whcih is great when you are buying…) and they usually take more brand names (no carter’s, oshkosh, although I saw them onthe racks. I guess they dont sell that well). I will be coming back as kids grow up so fast!

This is my second stop on my kids consignment shop hunt of the east bay.
This was a step up from my first place.
This store does not feel like a used clothing store. It has the feel of a small mom and pop store. I like this feeling.
I was looking for clothes for my son who is growing way too fast. They have a fair amount of clothes for boy 9 – 18 months. I was happy with the fact that they consign clothes by season. I would never have guesses it was this hard to find a good winter jacket for a reasonable price for a 7 month old who looks like a 2 year old. So I think I found my place in A Wee Change.
I plan on coming back in November when they have more winter clothes on the rack.
The store also has a few strollers, baby monitors, infant seats and such. They are all in good condition and much cheaper than Target, Wal-​Mart or even Ross and the other discount stores.
It’s kind of a pain in the butt to get here, but I will come back.
I suggest you do the same.

This is a local small business in my neighborhood so I hate to post a less than stellar review, but I do so in hopes of letting them know so it can be fixed!
Was in the store yesterday afternoon looking for preemie clothes. The salesperson was very busy (no one in the store though) and when I asked i she had any preemie stock she was very «bothered» and said «if I do, it’s at the end over there». Rude attitude not appreciated! There are alternatives (especially Growing Pains in Concord) which I love. I’d love to stay local and shop here — so please AWC staff — pretend you want me as a customer!

There was a coupon in a local trade magazine for $ 5 off your purchase of $ 35 or more.
I was in need of a formal dress for an awards ceremony that week. Being the bulbous party girl that Ive become I was hoping they had something nice for me.
Unfortunately they really didn’t have anything very formal. I was looking for red carpet, pregnant Angelina Jolie type rag magazine cover dresses.
Apparently pregnant women don’t do formal that often.
They did have very nice work wear dresses but nothing I wanted to buy right at that moment.
Service was outstanding and she really understood that I wasn’t finding what I was looking for.
I was eying the baby stuff and am excited to find out that this little Baby Beluga is a boy inside me so I can buy some cuuuuute stuff finally. All of their baby stuff is incredibly priced and cute.
You know I’m coming back.
