Good location. Needs some direction. The service staff is more in to talking with the locals and or the banquet going on in there privet dining room. I came in around 3:30 to get an early dinner. I ordered a rib eye mid rare, it was cook perfect but they didn’t season the steak. This seems to be the biggest error I see in cooking food. I ordered a vodka tonic and a water when I say down. No water but the vodka was good. I ordered the water half way through my meal for the second time and never got it. So if you want your steak cook to the right temp with out seasoning and a good vodka go here. As for me it needs to be compleat. The service needs to be attentive to all needs and the cooks need to be retrained on there seasoning.

Coming from Reno Nevada, my daughter and I have an endless means to gourmet food at any hour of the day. Finding ourselves on the opposite end of the country, we were very excited to try a new restaurant. We showed up right before closing on a Wednesday night and were greeted by the waitress Donna. We chose to sit in the bar area and loved the warm wood and coziness of the restaurant. Not only did we get salads with(the best) homemade blue cheese dressing, but the seafood stuffed shrimp were to die for. The only thing better than the food was the excellent service. Donna was interactive, caring and extremely helpful for(potentially) future residents of this gorgeous state.

Good food, big portions, dishonest waitstaff. Took my bill and cash, never returned with change, claimed I told her to keep the change. Apparently I must have dementia or Alzheimers.

We went here for lunch one day, and it was fantastic! I’ll admit that it doesn’t look like much from outside, but come inside and you won’t be disappointed. Good food, nice atmosphere — We got to sit next to the fireplace, which was nice and cozy. I also like that they had twice-baked potatoes, which I’ve always loved and don’t think I’ve ever seen at any other restaurant. We also saw that they have a few banquet rooms(there was actually an event going on while we were there). I would like to go back for one of their Trivia or Karaōke nights.

The band that’s plays there LEMIXX sucks, the Gutair player is a dirt bag. I came home one morning and found him screwing my wife.

Get there baked stuffed shrimp. Amazing… Also there nachos are huge and delicious. The bar tender we had was really nice. Not sure why the ratings are so bad.

Sat at the bar with a friend visiting from out of state. The female bartender was very personable, made an excellent martini and made us feel very welcome.

Remodeling should have come with new ownership. This review is based on my experience today with the Mother’s Day sunday brunch buffet. This was my second brunch buffet at Brother’s and it was just as bad as the first one. The people: Our waitress Sue was awesome. She seems like a very happy person. Attentive but not overbearing. Good grammar. Great service. Loved her. Wish I good give a separate rating just for her. She, however, was the only good thing about this restaurant. Our party was originally for 8. Due to a medical emergency 4 of our party had to cancel. Unacceptable apparently. The woman doing the seating appeared very annoyed and offered no concern when we stated it was because of something medical. Come on really? They modified where we sat which is fine but they sat us in the most cramped table surrounded by a wall. Not good considering my gram is 100 years old in a couple months and uses a walker. We worked our way around and grabbed a plate. A few second later we were literally told to put the plate down unless we wanted an omelet. Very rude guy working the station. Not for nothing, but the first time I went to the brunch buffet the same nasty guy was there as well and was miserable. Got my food and was terribly disappointed. French toast, although sweet because of the powdered sugar was limp and soggy. The breakfast sausage was ice cold. The bacon, some of the bacon was under cooked. All of the bacon was limp and greasy. The roll I grabbed was stale. Chicken Marsala was the worst I’ve had. No flavor at all. Very starchy and tasted like flour. Scrambled eggs were standard. Nothing special. Stuffed sole was greasy. Overall, very sub par for any restaurant. Buffet or traditional sit down. Take out or delivery. Fast food or sandwich shop. This was all very terrible food. On the plus side the deserts looked good but I didn’t try them. Must much too disgusted with what I had. And at $ 26-$ 27 per person I was left feeling taken advantage of once again by this place. Never again.

OMG what happened to Brothers. It’s awful! It’s sad because it’s been around forever and it used to be the go to place in Wallingford for steak and seafood. Back in the day you would wait an hour and half to get in on a Friday night. Now, let’s fast forward to my two recent visits. I went on Friday night, very few people there eating dinner(a few more in the bar) we both ordered fried shrimp dinners. Food was just ok, service good. Why we went back again idk, figured lemme support local business and maybe it was an off night. We both ordered fried shrimp dinners($ 17.00) and this time they were gross, previously frozen, small shrimp! I should have known better when we walked in at 6:00 on Friday night and we were the only ones there for dinner! I imagine it won’t be long before they are gone. Sorry brothers, I won’t be back. I will drive a little further out of my way to go to supreme seafood.

I went there with a few friends to see a local band play. The service is absolutely awful and I wish I was exaggerating. We waited more than 25 minutes to get the attention of both bartenders before having to literally lean over the bar and ask for a drink. By the time one of the bartenders gave us drinks, the kitchen was closed so we couldn’t order any food. Being a bartender myself, I am considerate if the staff is busy and in the weeds. However, when you see a few other customers here or there, and the«regulars» getting constant attention, it really grinds my gears. In addition, I saw on my statement that they charged my card more than DOUBLE for my tab, and when I called the next day, the manager said that«their credit card company does that with all CC tabs and should be reimbursed soon.» I have never heard that before, but I am still awaiting my reimbursement. I don’t like to critique restaurant service in any way, but I felt that I had to write this review to warn other customers of the service if they were going to consider going there. If you do choose to go to Brothers, pregame first so that by the time your buzz wears off, a bartender will actually acknowledge you.

I and my friend came here at 8:30pm on Sat. There was no acknowledgement of our presence at the bar for over 20 minutes at which time the two men to our right had to ASK the female bartender for menus! We waited another 15 min. to get waited on and then the bartender asked us «What did the manager serve you as drinks?» Because we had to be waited on by HIM initially to get any service(my friend knows him). So, after the food was served, the female bartender/waitress made NO more attempt at any kind of service: i.e. «How is your food, do you want another drink? May I take your plate?» Nothing… So, in the end it was $ 20 for a very small plate of fried scallops and shrimp which was greasy with no taste and a check for $ 38. for a drink, stuffed mushrooms and a Corona. REALLY? I was not pleased and I tipped the waitress accordingly — just a $ 1. I would not recommend this place nor ever go back to eat there again.

This place has reopened and this was my first time back. What a disappointment, the fried food was overly breaded to such an extent that it was almost impossible to taste what was under the breading. This use to be an excellent place for sea food.

I like the bar area here but every time I go it seems they are closed. Like a Thursday night! Really?!? If I could actually make it inside the review might be better.

Disclamer: I did not eat anything here. I did however hang out at the bar and sing Karaōke! I had a great time. The place was packed and the KJ was really nice. It was hard to get the attention of the bartenders, but they were also swamped with people wanting things. Overall I would go back for karaōke and maybe even try the food.

Basically a place to go for fried seafood. Atmosphere is average. I dine here when someone in our party absolutely insists on eating here. It’s not the worst place, but I wouldn’t bring anyone here to impress. And the staff and management can be a bit rough at times. If you have a craving for fried clams and don’t want to drive to the shoreline, or Dino’s 2 miles down the road in North Haven, I guess this is the place to come.

Food is overpriced for the quality. They don’t have much of a selection for people who don’t like seafood and even if you do you’re still going to have to wait a long time for your food. This is the type of place that makes me feel like I’m being ripped off because they put such an effort into making things look nice and yet it still feels like you’re eating at a cafeteria for some reason. There were lots of elderly people here, it seemed to be the type of place my grandparents would enjoy. However to me the food was just bland. I could have had a better meal at any of the fast food joints down the street. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone under the age of 50.

This was an experience… my GF who raved about this restaurant brought me and my son there with her kids for a nice dinner. It was the evening so the place was fairly busy. After waiting nearly 30 mins for a place to sit and playing the«we cant wait much longer as 2 of us are diabetic and need to eat» card(as well as eating most of the candy out of the complimentary candy basket at the register), we finally get a big table. The food was midrange priced italian fare. The décor was nice, modern italian, but not flashy… a more casual atmosphere. After another long wait for the waitstaff to return, we place our orders. She apologized for the delay and blamed it on a party in the next room as well as a shortage of waitstaff and cooks that evening. Another hour and we get our food… needless to say we were pretty angry at this point. My GF, at her breaking point, asks for the manager. To our surprise, some greaseball who looks like he just rolled out of the gutter comes strolling out and ask us what the problem was. When she explains the issues we have seen, he throws up his hands and states, «What do you me to do about it?» as if he had no interest in us as regular customers(or wasnt the manager and actually the janitor). He ended us comping our drinks(whooo whooo 2 adults out of a party of 5 who had 3 drinks total). On the plus side, the food was excellent. They did seem surprised when we asked them not to take our plates at the end of the meal and bring us takeout boxes for the leftovers… we didnt trust the plates out of our site at that point. My GF apologized to us several times but in the end, they lost our future business.

Yeah, I’ll be honest, I like this place because one of the bartenders is hot. I’ve never eaten there, but the drinks are great and if you’re on a really bad date you can ask the bartender to give you seltzer every time the guy you’re with orders you a gin or vodka and soda. Looks the same, right? They have karaōke twice a week which makes them lose a point. Oh that and the fact that it’s in Wallingford… but otherwise it’s a pretty decent spot.
