Would rate Waldport Tire & Auto 10⁄10. Merlin Holderman is one of the most genuine friendliest people ever! He came quick at 1am to check out what I needed. I had a nail in one tire (so the donut wheel replaced that wheel) & then got a flat tire within 10 minuets. He came & towed my friend & I to his shop & opened it up for us! I thought we would be stuck in Waldport for the night according to AAA and Honda towing. He saved us, because we had to be somewhere that morning which was 4.5 hours away! He even offered to tow us all the way home if he didn’t have a spare new tire! He fixed up the tire with the nail & replaced the flat. I highly recommend this place. Oddly glad this happened because it was such a pleasure to meet Merlin. Thank you for saving us, & thank you for the job well done!

On a vacation in Yachats. Subaru starts acting funkier than normal. Only option is this place in Waldport. Merlin fit us in. Tom and John took care of us when we got there. Competent, honest, friendly, fair and fast. Great. Thanks guys.

Going on a cross-​country road trip, we noticed some squealing while traveling down the PCH…3,000 miles from home, we consulted Unilocal to find a reputable mechanic and found these guys to have pretty good reviews. We drove in an hour before they closed and were greeted by very friendly, kind mechanics. Merlin came up, shook my hand and introduced himself. We explained what was happening and that we were on this massive road trip, and all the mechanics joined in and thoroughly inspected the problem, as well as a few other things that stood out to them.
What I loved is that they genuinely seemed interested in making sure our car would be fine for the trip, and didn’t seem at all like they were trying to make a sale. In fact, we needed a new tire, yet they almost seemed to forget that they sold tires! They were like, «wherever you get your tire, make sure they don’t rip you off by doing this or that…» whereas I think a lot of mechanics would pressure you into buying a tire from them. They really truly just seemed interested in making sure that we would have all the information to safely continue our trip.
If I could give them more than five stars I would. Wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, honest and caring people. The best experience I have ever had with a mechanic — absolutely recommend seeing them for any issues with your car!

On our way home from a beautiful vacation in Yachats. Jamie (?) from this shop (a Triple A driver) happened by and did business with us pronto. Kind, generous, skilled — he’d been on his way to get a soda — he went after his tow truck, returned to us in minutes, loaded our car onto the truck and our dog with the two of us in the cab. The long, beautiful trip from Waldport to Portland was filled with camaraderie, local history, highway route tips, and inspirational stories on how to give care to people. What a guy! In Portland when I found that my card case (with every card I need to get through life) had lodge itself between the seats of the AAA truck, I called Waldport Tire and got authentic concern and swift action from Merlin. Yes he found the case. Yes he took it to the P.O. right away. My advice? Break down near Waldport Tire and Auto, get super customer service, and renew your belief in humanity.

Had a problem with my trailer hitch, so I called Merlin. He met me at the front door, shook my hand, and checked it out for me. It turned out to be an easy fix, and he had me in and out in 5 min.
I’d trust these guys with my auto care needs for sure!

These guys are the best! If you’re gonna break down on the Oregon coast, make sure it’s near these guys. After storing my 2008 smart car for a year, the battery was dead. I went into the shop to discuss my options. After finding out that a new battery was $ 230.00 and would take 2 weeks to order, Tom offered to put the old battery on a charger overnight to see if it would take a charge. After wrestling the battery out of the car, I took it in. Bad news, wouldn’t hold a charge (and they didn’t charge me for this service) and I needed to get the car moved to a new location. Merlin to the rescue! He was able to magically start the car so it could get on the flat bed tow truck and move the car to its new location. Really friendly, extremely helpful and they will get all my business. Can’t recommend them highly enough.
